Fantasy Premier League Set Piece Takers 2014-15

Tips Ok then so we saw quite a few requests for an updated ‘Set-Piece takers’ list on the comments recently and it jogged our memory that we hadn’t done one and as ever we took notice and decided to take action. We had a quick look around the offices of FF247 and found Eddy and Flingy slumped in the corner playing cards and a light bulb came on! So suddenly Eddy became our roving reporter and was whisked around the world to see all of the pre-season friendlies he could manage in order to bring you the latest set-piece table, while we locked Flingy in a darkened room, with Google as his only friend, to bring you the stats on last seasons set-piece specialists. Enjoy…

Please find below the FF247 Set Piece Takers List for 2014/15. This list is a guide that we hope will help you select players that have the potential to bring in goals and crucial assist points. The table is based on information gathered from last season’s games, Opta stats, pre-season friendlies and FF247 community input.

The article itself is archived under the tab at the top of the page entitled Tips/News and is linked under the drop down box ‘FPL SET-PIECE TAKERS 2014-15’ so you can refer back to it at any time, as are many of our other articles and helpful tools such as Fixture Tracker and Weekly Tips.

Please be aware that this list is subject to change due to player injuries, drop in form, suspensions, manager whims, etc. The list will be updated throughout the season and as ever we welcome anybody in our community to inform us if you are aware of any updated roles or indeed anything you think we have got wildly inaccurate! You’re not perfect and neither are we 😉

Players are listed in order of priority for each particular role –

So while Eddy was jet setting around the globe, Flingy was busy squirreling away to bring us the highlights of last season’s set-piece stats which are below for your perusal. The first deals with the players who had the ‘Most’ in each section. The second examines the teams themselves. We hope you find these both informative and helpful. There are obviously some players in there who are no longer with us (gone abroad, not died) and there are new players at some clubs who will take over some of these duties.

    init,

Regarding Isgrove, I think he’s been playing as part of the front 3 pre-season and if they don’t bring in anybody else, I think he and Gaston Ramirez (if he stays) might be nice budget options.

Why so much love for Bojan around here?

Sure, nice opening fixtures but when did Stoke become a free scoring team? Surely better to invest in their defense.

Guaranteed starter at that price, I’m not convinced they’ll be so solid defensively this season. Pulis’ teachings can only last so long!

      • Graham, Anelka…………..

          Hey Ashes.

I have him in at present. I may not keep it like so, but the ability to put some strong defenders is appealing. There are question marks over a lot of strikers for different reasons- Sturridge (injury/fixtures) Giroud (no pre season), Dzeko (will he play), Jovetic (same) etc

I havent found a third striker Im happy with. Keeping an eye on Remy but at heart QPR are a promoted team. Who have you up front?

Lads, this is my current bacline:

    Begovic – Fabianski
    Terry – P. Jones – Ward – Simpson – Duff

I’m considering downgrading Jones and upgrading Duff and rotating these two. Any suggestione as to who I should bring in? I’m currently looking through Mito’s rotation analysis, but still wouldn’t mind any tips on the matter (already have QPR + Palace and Stoke + Swansea rotation)

Haha, just noticed the structure of this post. For guys that were worried about posting fixtures that were already in the public domain, you’re being extremely risky with copying the FFS page.

Whilst I obviously don’t practice in the UK, we have the same Tort laws and I would suggest you at least change the structure of this post so as not to incur a copyright suit.

It’s extremely standard script behind it so it’s fairly likely to look similar isn’t it and I can assure it hasn’t been copied from anywhere, I didn’t view the FFS one prior to doing this. We had the same thing up all of last season. Having looked at that one now they’ve even classified differently and the players picked do vary which depends on opinion and research. Go tell them if you feel inclined, I think you’d find it’d fall on deaf ears and they’ve got better things to do. Thanks for your concern though.

Once something is posted on a public domain it’s free to use as you please anyway. Sorry to burst your bubble.

Reports coming out of Italy and Sky Sport Italia claim Manchester United have made a bid for Fiorentina’s Colombian winger Juan Cuadrado.

    Mourinho says:

Riviere for Newcastle has scored again (his 3rd in pre season).

One to keep an eye out for. Could be a cheap differential.
