Fantasy Premier League Set Piece Takers 2014-15

Tips Ok then so we saw quite a few requests for an updated ‘Set-Piece takers’ list on the comments recently and it jogged our memory that we hadn’t done one and as ever we took notice and decided to take action. We had a quick look around the offices of FF247 and found Eddy and Flingy slumped in the corner playing cards and a light bulb came on! So suddenly Eddy became our roving reporter and was whisked around the world to see all of the pre-season friendlies he could manage in order to bring you the latest set-piece table, while we locked Flingy in a darkened room, with Google as his only friend, to bring you the stats on last seasons set-piece specialists. Enjoy…

Please find below the FF247 Set Piece Takers List for 2014/15. This list is a guide that we hope will help you select players that have the potential to bring in goals and crucial assist points. The table is based on information gathered from last season’s games, Opta stats, pre-season friendlies and FF247 community input.

The article itself is archived under the tab at the top of the page entitled Tips/News and is linked under the drop down box ‘FPL SET-PIECE TAKERS 2014-15’ so you can refer back to it at any time, as are many of our other articles and helpful tools such as Fixture Tracker and Weekly Tips.

Please be aware that this list is subject to change due to player injuries, drop in form, suspensions, manager whims, etc. The list will be updated throughout the season and as ever we welcome anybody in our community to inform us if you are aware of any updated roles or indeed anything you think we have got wildly inaccurate! You’re not perfect and neither are we 😉

Players are listed in order of priority for each particular role –

So while Eddy was jet setting around the globe, Flingy was busy squirreling away to bring us the highlights of last season’s set-piece stats which are below for your perusal. The first deals with the players who had the ‘Most’ in each section. The second examines the teams themselves. We hope you find these both informative and helpful. There are obviously some players in there who are no longer with us (gone abroad, not died) and there are new players at some clubs who will take over some of these duties.

      inittowinit says:

Hi Hatter, liking the pick of Adam for GW1 and the planned switch. Makes perfect sense. It may just be me this now as everyone’s still picking him but is Wisdom nailed on? Zamora is still an issue for me too.

      • MadHatter says:

Cheers all, no Wisdom not nailed now with Gamboa signed but defo need 2 x 4.0m players so i need to keep scouting, i will eventually have City and Liverpool players but i’m set up with the first few game weeks in mind before i consider playing a wildcard (if i have to)

anyone else finding the 4.0’s a real nuisance ? got duff atm but need one other to raise 0.5, thoughts. repeating cookie up top ^^…. is wisdom nailed??

      Bongo says:

I’m not saying Wisdom is nailed on to start every match, but at only 4m he is probably more likely to play and pick up the odd clean sheet then some at the same price range.
To me he looked more than decent when filling in at Liverpool and Brendan Rodgers speaks very highly of him. Now I’m not saying that he has some sort if guaranteed playing term in his loan agreement or anything, but I really can’t see why Rodgers would send him out for first team experience if he hasn’t had some sort of verbal agreement with Irvin that he was gonna play.

    Smash10 says:

I think Wisdom will be ok for first few weeks. But Gamboa may take his place in a few games time

    TheDreamers says:

So West Brom have now signed Wisdom, Gamboa, Lescott and some Australian left full back. Not seeing the why really.

I like the aspect on this one Elle and did you turn up the brightness a bit? Seems to shimmer a bit more than the last pic. You’ve aligned it nicely this time. Lovely, well done laugh

      • Thankyou, now listen up foghorn leghorn, how the hell are we supposed to do a doubles team with you being all comical on me ? Get your footy head on + come up with some suggestions for our team, its more like a singles side at the moment. 😮

        • inittowinit says:

Now you now how it feels for me all season :hippo:

        • Wow Elle,
I don’t know how you keep your patience with that sort of useless feedback.
Now, on a serious point… how do you get the green stripes to look so good on your pitch? They look just lovely.

        • Sorry. Not funny. You probably wanted feedback on your team.
Ok, so I notice that you have 3 players all in red, 3 all in blue, and just 2 wearing stripes.
          What’s your thinking here?

        • Now listen up chicky, heres our doubles up to now :-
          ………… ? …………… ?
          …….. ? …….. ? …….. ? …….. ? …….. ?
          Sanchez, ……. ? ……. ? …….. ? Mata,
          Rooney, Costa, …….. ?
Any chance of you having a go this year ? I doubt it very much, oh just like last season, just leave it to Elle, he will win me a league title. 😮

        • I’ve been watching old editions of the clothes show.

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

Chins I completely see your point. If he leaves Siggy and Howard he has one black and one white. Think that is ok he can call those his… black and white ( creatively speaking ). Big problem I see is Ramsey. That white kills in his shirt kills it, this is where a stripe should go.

Gives him 3 red, 3 blue, 3 striped and a black and white. Not sure he could come up with a better scheme than that… #jobdone

        • inittowinit says:

There you go Elle, got the team involved in this one, what more do you want? Aesthetically that will be the prettiest team we ever did see laugh

        • Chicken, in our team we have 2 red, 1 blue + 1 red/ white combo at the moment, would you like to add a few more colours into the squad ? :big-lol:

        • inittowinit says:

You asked me the must haves, you got ’em. That’s the important bit done now go fill it! And fill my coffee cup on the way it’s getting empty 😉

        • Is it a FF247 mug ? Was wondering what colour it was, does it go with the squad colours ? I should know the colour of the mug but mine havn’t arrived yet, there you go, something else you can’t do right. :big-lol:

Anyways i’m offski, catch you all tomorrow for some more colour co-ordinations, cheers me dears.

        • Calvin Clyne says:

At least you two are both actively picking a team! Try having my partner 😉

        • Calvin – sorry mate. I’ve taken my eye margainly off the ball. On the plus side though, our pitch is looking amazing.
I’ve blocked out the entire evening to put a draft together. I’ve also passed your email address onto Mrs Chins in case she takes issue with the messy kitchen and unbathed children. It’ll be fine though. Got my eye on a couple of players already. (I heard brazil legend Pele is actually in the league this year! Bit old, but if he’s good enough for Koeman…)

And as for you Elle…. Not even a ‘thank you’ to Mito or I? Thats the last time i do one of your pop quizzies.

        • Hey up Calvin, 1 whinge + your doubles partner turns up, Chins + Mito cheers for some colour schemes i’ll try and make up a co-ordinated looking team tomorrow. Oh amd as for partners mines as useful as a chocolate teapot, a chocolate fireguard or an ashtray on a motorbike. 😮
