Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 9

Good morning all and we hope you’re up for some more non-stop action as we continue to progress through the group stage of the World Cup. Today is Day 9 and we kick off in the colourful and coastal city of Recife as Italy meet Costa Rica – both teams won their opening fixture in the group and this one should be a further test of how good the surprise package of Costa Rica really are.

The middle game sees us move into Group E as the toblerone-loving, cheese-eating Swissies aim to put one of their neighbours, the garlic smelling French. These two also won their first game, though we suspect you will have more fantasy interest in the French, with the likes Benzema, Pogba and Evra.

And finally, for all you insomniacs out there we have Honduras vs Ecuador – not really sure what to say about this one except to hope that those Hondurans you used to fill up the cheap spaces in your squad play and maybe even get you some points.

Well good luck, hope your players perform, careful on those formations now.

Thanks for reading Fantasy World Cup Live Match Chat Day 9 – Good luck everyone!

Morning all. Another day & another team to root for ……. Come on Italy!

Woke up to 12pts from the Greek Goalie, think I will stick with that – just don’t know why I didn’t put the armband on him :Shake:

A better round for me so far this time, looks like I could have an England chance of qualifying in Potstar Group D.

Morning Seren, i woke up to find myself on 160pts, 12pts from the greek keeper, 13 from my greek defender Manolas plus 8 more from my japanese mid Yamaguchi. Had the armband on Gerrard but he only got 5 pts (thought he deserved more) its going on to Messi now

Should have moved it on as soon as the England game finished, but if you had moved it to your Greek defender would you have left it there (13 is a good score) or still moved it to Messi?

Whats the highest player score you’ve had, mine is Neymar/Aurier in round 1 with 14 each

yeah shame i didn’t move it on straight away Alec, i’ve would’ve been happy with 26pts.
I will move it on to Messi now (my 5th captain laugh ), i also have di Maria (lets hope he can do more in this one) and i’ll bring in Zabaleta for Blind who only got 5 pts.

My highest scorer so far was also Neymar, had him as captain in the 1st round.

Well having got the England distraction out of the way (only had Aurier playing yesterday, 7 pts so move that armband) its game on again with 5 players potentially playing today (but 2 are Honduran) .

Main question who to give the armband to, Lloris, Varane or Cabaye?

Seeing as how to me defenders seem to get the best scores and Cabaye being mentioned as doubtful in some places I’ll go with Varane.

Need to catch up in Potstar Group D

Oh and if we could have team names mine is always “Fortunes Always Hiding”

Worst players in final 11 from round 1, Vermaelen 0 (my fault didn’t check team sheets, a must for final set of games for the round) and Kokorin 1

England on the brink of going out of the World cup after the group stages; well I never saw that coming (tongue firmly poking out of ones cheek). Its nothing new, it happens every 4 years, that is if we are lucky enough to qualify for a championship in the first place.

I’m currently holding the lead in POTSTAR group D by my fingernails, so there is plenty of time for me to f**k it up.England need too many results to go their way now, its over.
Woy and Moyes and myself are going for a drink on Wednesday night when Woy comes home.

The England team visited an orphanage in Rio this morning. “It’s heart-breaking to see their sad little faces with no hope,” said Alberto, aged six.

    Its been emotional.

Morning all. Well, well, well after Pottys scathing attack it looks like my troops have rallied (thanks Colombia and Greece) and have moved into a qualifying spot. It’s a bit tight though! Got J-Rod sat on a healthy 22 (c), still gotta move that onto Messi though right?

Decided to have a punt on Giroud as captain before i give it to Messi, Messi will become my 6th captain laugh
