Fantasy Football The FF247 Community Team – We go again

It was around this time twelve months ago that another team joined the 3 million-strong throng of Fantasy Football Teams vying for the crown of overall world champion. Except in this case it would be “champions” as this team was a little different. You were in it. And you. You, too. I was as well. The FF247 Community Team (founded 2015) was born, and indeed borne out of a curiosity of a few regulars who wondered if we could have a fantasy team representing all you good good people. Let’s embrace what we did last year, with an overall respectable final rank of 100,193 and see if we can improve on that the second time around.

For those new to this concept, your management team of myself, elleffcee and NZ Alex will guide you via comments on our dedicated article which sits on the tab at the top of the FF247 homepage. These comments will advise you when we are looking for your interaction, namely to let us know how you think we should manage the Community Team. Once our original squad has been selected (more of that soon), we need you to advise us how many transfers we should make, who should be transferred out, in and how we should line up for the forthcoming gameweek and also who will wear our captain’s armband for double points.

All our voting is based on a first past the post system – most votes wins. Simple.

The initial squad selection last season was a little laborious so we have decided to streamline this for this season. We will soon open voting where we will ask you to vote for your desired players by each position (hopefully getting a nice mixture of top-end and budget players . . . . or not?) and then the management team will construct the squad based upon your most popular two or three players per position and then by budget as we work our way through the positions.

The management team have our own individual teams so we are not one bit interested in manipulating the Community Team to turn it in to some second team of ours. You will get what you vote for.

We received some positive feedback on this venture last year so we feel we owe it to you all to have another go and we just hope you support us once more.

To the 2016/17 season then. Shall we?

I’m new to this site, and found it incredibly informative, just disappointed that the community team hasn’t been posted, hence I took the time to register and voiced my opinion. But hey, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one.

    * FF247 COMMUNITY TEAM GW3 (Finally) *

I would like to apologise for the lateness of the posting today. A bit of a family emergency meant I couldn’t update here or on twitter.

I also wasn’t aware some users were copying the team and were relying on the information of our team so much. Misses the punt if the game to out mind

      * misses the point of the game in our eyes but who are we to judge?

Anyway, our team is attached (and I food try to pay before the deadline but good intentions couldn’t be fulfilled this week.

Please don’t blame the brilliant FF247 itself it was an issue at my end.

Barkley and Redmond came in for Mahrez and D Gray. Thanks all for your votes.

So because I did not thank your previous 2 postings you did not post this week.
Wow, I thought you lived on traffic to your site not a thank you.

I do appreciate you keeping up this site and posting teams, in fact I was relying on it.

But I guess that was my mistake.

This was my fault today and I appreciate the guys like Init and Cookie for trying to support me earlier.

We were not aware of anyone “relying” on our team each week but perhaps if you or anyone else had made this known, we would have a clearer picture.

We rely on feedback, even if it is just a thank you so we know who is actively involved.

Apologies if I am wrong but this is the first time we have spoken, right?

Afternoon all, i don’t think GP, who does most of the work on the community team, NZ or myself should have to apologise for posting the community team late for one week. We are all busy people, much the same as everyone else around the site, and we all have troubles at one time or another. It just happens that we all have had a few things to do in our lives this week but still managed to sort a vote out and carry out the communitys wishes. I understand that people do RMTs and ask for advice all the time, but personally if you need to see someone elses team to copy it whats the point in playing the game in the first place ? Go make your own team up. Thanks to all who voted and good luck for the weekend. laugh

      Thank you elle.

I appreciate and agree with your sentiments but I had the intention all along to get the team on twitter and on here today BEFORE the deadline as always.

If I had known that I was struggling and wasn’t able to, I would have asked your good self and NZ to cover for me. I literally haven’t had a second to send anyone any messages this morning and I had about 5 minutes if you’re lucky to look at my own team.

I echo your last comment – thanks for your votes and best of luck all. Let’s enjoy the game!

      • No probs Jock. Hope things sort themselves out. Don’t forget to get next weeks vote going tonight so that 3 million people can copy it by the end of the week. :big-lol:

Has anyone else noticed that you don’t have to do a maths problem before you log on now ?

Morning all, Im just going to add my support to GP here. He works bloody hard to sort this team and all for the love of the game and FF247. He has support from Elle and myself but is the driving force behind it. 99 times out of 100 it is on time. This community is amazing and very rarely do we see negative comments. Lets keep it like that smile

GP, Elle, Alex. Only just seeing the fall out from this now. My apologies. I’ll not say too much regarding the perpetrators but suffice to say it’s been looked into. One stray negative comment is rare. Two is a coincidence. Let’s leave it at that. Carry on lads, you do a fantastic job for the site and the community and it’s much appreciated. Don’t ever think it’s not.
