Fantasy Football The FF247 Community Team – We go again
It was around this time twelve months ago that another team joined the 3 million-strong throng of Fantasy Football Teams vying for the crown of overall world champion. Except in this case it would be “champions” as this team was a little different. You were in it. And you. You, too. I was as well. The FF247 Community Team (founded 2015) was born, and indeed borne out of a curiosity of a few regulars who wondered if we could have a fantasy team representing all you good good people. Let’s embrace what we did last year, with an overall respectable final rank of 100,193 and see if we can improve on that the second time around.
For those new to this concept, your management team of myself, elleffcee and NZ Alex will guide you via comments on our dedicated article which sits on the tab at the top of the FF247 homepage. These comments will advise you when we are looking for your interaction, namely to let us know how you think we should manage the Community Team. Once our original squad has been selected (more of that soon), we need you to advise us how many transfers we should make, who should be transferred out, in and how we should line up for the forthcoming gameweek and also who will wear our captain’s armband for double points.
All our voting is based on a first past the post system – most votes wins. Simple.
The initial squad selection last season was a little laborious so we have decided to streamline this for this season. We will soon open voting where we will ask you to vote for your desired players by each position (hopefully getting a nice mixture of top-end and budget players . . . . or not?) and then the management team will construct the squad based upon your most popular two or three players per position and then by budget as we work our way through the positions.
The management team have our own individual teams so we are not one bit interested in manipulating the Community Team to turn it in to some second team of ours. You will get what you vote for.
We received some positive feedback on this venture last year so we feel we owe it to you all to have another go and we just hope you support us once more.
To the 2016/17 season then. Shall we?

Morning GP. It’s not a bad looking team. I’m surprised to see Gray from Leicester there as I haven’t seen him in many teams or even be mentioned.
Yeah, i sense folk may have gotten confused there. Will he even play?

We were faced with 5.0 to spend on one midfield player. If it was strictly votes it would have been Hojbjerg and Fletcher of West Brom. We felt that with that extra 0.5M banked, we could perhaps risk a 5.0M midfielder who is far more attack-minded, highly rated as I’m sure you’ll have heard and from the current champions.
I’d point out that both goalkeepers, the top four defenders, three midfielders and three strikers as voted, made their way in so it is a very striking resemblance to the vote – as best we could expect.
I’m not sure Gray will play 90 minutes to begin with but we got to begin somewhere.
Yeah I agree with you GP. Gray seems to be a good player at Leicester I’m just not sure he plays much but if he comes on for 20 minutes and scores or gets an assist than its a great pick haha
Looking forward to seeing how the team goes this Season GP.

Morning all / GP can I suggest a change because of transfers ie Baines (not on pens) to Williams if he is confirmed at Eve & Souare to Stones would make our def lt stronger cheers mate

Of course you can suggest, that’s why we’re here. I would say though that Baines is our most popular voted-for defender.

The plan was McAuley in for Souare if he’s ruled out.
That mid is the real problem. There’s no reason for anyone to pick him. None whatsoever. I bet all those picks were meant for the forward. How could he be in the community team and not one single draft? I’d get rid of him and slot in the next most popular mid pick,which will change everything pretty much.

The next most popular is Darren Fletcher for the price so it’s a balance between guaranteed 2 points or sporadic assists/goals.
I’m also sure there was no confusion as Andre Gray was well voted for (third only after Kun and Ibra).
NZ actually has Demarai in his own drafts.
Nothing that can’t be sorted out with transfers unless you all want Fletcher in?
I find it hard to believe that people actually picked him yet he’s not in any drafts other than NZ. Nobody is even asking about him. If it’s not a mistake and this is what’s ahead, then the team is doomed

Well I think a few people are aware of him based on his Birmingham days, I was anyway.
The team will be fine. If it doesn’t work out he’ll be kicked out.
Only 0.5M of a difference so not a huge one we thought.
I think Nin is right, people are picking the wrong Gray.
So there’s a 5mln attacker that could be first team for Leicester yet absolutely nobody is talking about it? Ita a mistake mate. The forum would be red hot with talk about it otherwise. Has to be. He’s getting nowhere near that Leicester team and we all know it. NZ having him doesn’t explain anything really. Gray scoring g a hattrick v rangers explains so many votes for the other Gray. It’s so obvious mate, it really is.
Anyway, I’ll say no more. Should really get my arse out of bed and go for a cycle and do workout. Been lazing here for hours now. Laters :thumbup:
Well in the voting lists one says Demarai Gray in midfield for Leicester and has some votes and one says Andre Gray a striker for Burnley.
Demarai hasn’t a huge amount of votes and Andre does so that’s indicating that the majority (not all) have the right man.
We’re aware that Demarai is a punt and noone is saying he’s a first team regular. You said yourself “COULD be a first team regular”.
He got a half in the Community Shield so he’s near enough the first team for that.
