FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 13
Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 13. Oooooh Marcos Alonso. Oooooh Marcos Alonso. We knew he’d come good in the end. Patience is a virtue. Try, try, try again. Our Spanish superstar did us proud, rewarded our loyalty and faith with a goal, clean sheet and 2bps as Chelsea swept aside West Brom with ease to send Pulis back to the job centre. Alas, Alonso was our highest scorer of the week but was closely followed by Pascal Gross whose goal on Monday night was supplemented by 3bps. A nice finish to a week, which was average. Well, very slightly above average – we scored 61pts vs an average of 56, yet it was not quite enough for a green arrow. Our third red arrow in succession takes us down to 420,608.
Goals from Richarlison and Jesus also helped while assists for Firmino and Silva were much appreciated. The less said the better about our Spurs duo, while United annoyingly couldn’t even keep a clean sheet at home to Newcastle.
Our wildcard remains in hand. Somehow. But we have 2fts to use this week…
Last weeks ‘result’…
This weeks transfer(s)…
Sold : Groß, Firmino
Bought : Pogba, Wilson
Bit of an odd one this week as we were all set to buy Sane and Wilson for Sterling and Firmino. The alternative to Sane was Pogba, which was debated long and hard. Sane prevailed… And then some smart-arse realised that we could actually keep Sterling and get Pogba just as we were about to write the article!
It is a bit of a risk as Sane is nailed on to play this weekend having been rested in midweek whereas Sterling almost played the full game. But then he did provide the critical moment in said game. We are risking him getting the nod again with our late change of mind but what it does (in theory) is allow us to maintain triple City attacking coverage vs Huddersfield whilst also bringing in Pogba as opposed to having Groß play away against Man United. Even if Sterling gets benched then he’s likely to appear for the last 30mins or so and we would probably rather that than anyone playing away at Old Trafford.
Buying Wilson may feel like we are chasing points a bit but we prefer to think of it as chasing form. And fixtures. They play Swansea this week. Not a lot not to like about that combo! Plus he enables the other move.
In other news we also voted (we think!) to activate our Wildcard ahead of GW14. This was enthusiastically voted in favour of, given our lack of Salah any Chelsea attacking coverage, until another smart-arse pointed out that it would have to be decided before Tuesday this time given the short turnaround in games. Deep breaths all around then but we are confident it will happen, and this is in part down to the amount of jobs seemingly available in Monaco which allow people to simply play fantasy football all week rather than actually working #mentioningnonames :hippo:
The team in full
And so this is how we line up ahead of GW13…
Our Captain is Harry Kane*
*Puffs cheeks! Really? Are we all going through this again?! He was the unanimous pick anyway. And probably the obvious one. When do we ever get to the last chance scenario with these trolls though? Hopefully not this week! We did however catch an encouraging tweet this week on Kane’s next 4 opponents and his points scored against them last season, for what it’s worth –

***NEW ARTICLE***
The FF247 Site Team is live!
We’ve actually made a couple of interesting (semi) transfers this week for once too!
And more importantly we have agreed in principle to play our WC ahead of GW14. Whether you see that or not depends on our ability to both agree on one and then also post it ahead of Tuesday but let’s see what happens!
Should i change any thing from my line up??
Looks good
Kane Vs Lukaku for captaincy…?
Got both here and going for Kane but it’s a close call. Not much in it in terms of goals conceded away by either (Brighton 6, WBA 8). Utd have however scored 19 at home and Spurs just 8. Oh hang on, think I just changed my mind
Good luck this GW everyone!
Who to start, FAB or ELLIOT..
Who to start, Ward or Moreno..
Cheers
Both are going to concede imo but Fab as he is better keeper and makes good saves!
For me It’s….
1. Elliot over Fab, because I feel Wilson might find the net.
2. Moreno over Ward, because of Liverpool’s home form, his attacking possibilities and is he doesnt start it’s unlikely he’ll come on so you’ve got Ward as cover.
So hard but yeah it’s a toss up
Thanks guys
I’d go Fab and Moreno for reasons already stated
Morning all lovely article
Should I do a transfer somewhere this week?
Or ride it out and do the following moves next week. ?
Sterling to pogba
Lukaku to morata.
Ride it out
I would save it up shane.
Good looking team guys,
Tbh I wouldn’t want to wildcard if I had that. Jesus to morata sorts Chelsea attack out & a cheeky – 4 can change sterling to salah pretty easily.
Do you lose the WC if it’s not used by the end of the year?
You do mate, GW19. So basically we have to use it in the next 5 weeks either way.
Hi guys, what do you think I should do?
1 FT (0.7 itb), thinking Aguero to Niasse, and then upgrade King to Hazard/Pogba/Sane? -4pts
Would probably make more sense if that forward was Wilson and then at least you could bench Carroll for whichever new mid you pick?
lol yes, defo Wilson, didnt see Niasse was suspended. Which mid would you go for? Hazard leaves me only 0.1m, whereas Pogba would leave me 2.7m which I could use to upgrade Carroll to Richarlison in the future, or Sterling to Sane.
As much as I think I’d want Hazard the other route makes more sense. I think. Already having Morata eases that a bit. Certainly gives you two players instead of one but then you’d probably have a benching issue. One which you may well be glad of over the coming weeks though.
