FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 13

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 13. Oooooh Marcos Alonso. Oooooh Marcos Alonso. We knew he’d come good in the end. Patience is a virtue. Try, try, try again. Our Spanish superstar did us proud, rewarded our loyalty and faith with a goal, clean sheet and 2bps as Chelsea swept aside West Brom with ease to send Pulis back to the job centre. Alas, Alonso was our highest scorer of the week but was closely followed by Pascal Gross whose goal on Monday night was supplemented by 3bps. A nice finish to a week, which was average. Well, very slightly above average – we scored 61pts vs an average of 56, yet it was not quite enough for a green arrow. Our third red arrow in succession takes us down to 420,608.

Goals from Richarlison and Jesus also helped while assists for Firmino and Silva were much appreciated. The less said the better about our Spurs duo, while United annoyingly couldn’t even keep a clean sheet at home to Newcastle.
Our wildcard remains in hand. Somehow. But we have 2fts to use this week…

Sold : Groß, Firmino
Bought : Pogba, Wilson
Bit of an odd one this week as we were all set to buy Sane and Wilson for Sterling and Firmino. The alternative to Sane was Pogba, which was debated long and hard. Sane prevailed… And then some smart-arse realised that we could actually keep Sterling and get Pogba just as we were about to write the article!

It is a bit of a risk as Sane is nailed on to play this weekend having been rested in midweek whereas Sterling almost played the full game. But then he did provide the critical moment in said game. We are risking him getting the nod again with our late change of mind but what it does (in theory) is allow us to maintain triple City attacking coverage vs Huddersfield whilst also bringing in Pogba as opposed to having Groß play away against Man United. Even if Sterling gets benched then he’s likely to appear for the last 30mins or so and we would probably rather that than anyone playing away at Old Trafford.

Buying Wilson may feel like we are chasing points a bit but we prefer to think of it as chasing form. And fixtures. They play Swansea this week. Not a lot not to like about that combo! Plus he enables the other move.

In other news we also voted (we think!) to activate our Wildcard ahead of GW14. This was enthusiastically voted in favour of, given our lack of Salah any Chelsea attacking coverage, until another smart-arse pointed out that it would have to be decided before Tuesday this time given the short turnaround in games. Deep breaths all around then but we are confident it will happen, and this is in part down to the amount of jobs seemingly available in Monaco which allow people to simply play fantasy football all week rather than actually working #mentioningnonames :hippo:

*Puffs cheeks! Really? Are we all going through this again?! He was the unanimous pick anyway. And probably the obvious one. When do we ever get to the last chance scenario with these trolls though? Hopefully not this week! We did however catch an encouraging tweet this week on Kane’s next 4 opponents and his points scored against them last season, for what it’s worth –

  1. Morning all, was going to WC but might hold another week. Thinking Sterling to Pogba is a sound move? Have 1 FT and 0.4 ITB. I like Sterling but I need a more dependable option.

    • Yeah I think that’s sensible.No obvious need for wildcard either

      • Apart from Stones dropping like a … very heavy object 😉

    • Tough one that. I actually think you could justify going a week early with that WC as there are 5 spots there which could be improved if you look at just this weeks fixtures.

      If not then yes that seems like a sensible move. I have Sterling myself and will be moving him on for either Pogba or more likely Sane.

    • I’d get rid of stones straight away for Mustafi/otamendi

  2. Any last minute changes? I’m on a wildcard so anything is possible! Wanting to go 3-5-2. Cheers

    • Good team I like it. I don’t think Mariappa keeps his place but not sure if you have anything in the bank

    • Looks good Kickers. Mariappa may cause you an issue week in week out as he only plays if Silva opts for a 3 at the back formation and there doesn’t appear to be any pattern to follow in terms of when he does that. Struggling to find you the extra 0.2 for one of the others though.

      I’d play 3-4-3 this week.

      • I’ve got 0.3 left itb. Any suggestions for Mariappa? If I go 3-4-3 who to drop in mid?

      • Is klavan worth a shout for replacement of Mariappa?

        • Yeah him or Kenny at Everton. Neither guaranteed I think Kenny has a better chance of keeping spot

  5. Hi all, what to do with this ugly lot? Stones in last week went well…
    If Jones is looking likely, I could do Vardy and Doucoure to Wilson and Pogba, which I like the look of. Question marks are Kun bad possibly only having two defenders.

  6. Hi all! I nearly got caught out with the early fixture tonight, luckily I checked on my lunch break! What should I do here? Both Jones and Lascelles are red flagged so should I be looking to switch one of them this week and who for? Or do you think I need to look elsewhere in my team? Thanks for your help!
