FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW12
Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW12. We somehow garnered 80 points in GW11 and yet another green arrow, and for once a decently fat one. We say somehow because six of our team managed to score just two points each; Patricio, Mendy, Robertson, Salah, Fraser and Vardy, thanks all, for nothing! Our transfer in last week was Arnie and he carried the charge for us weighing in with 12 himself, Kun did us proud as captain with a 26, Alonso got us 6 with an assist, Richarlison repaid some faith with a 15 and Moura surprised us with a cheeky 9. We managed to rise over 40k in the rankings and now sit at about 50k overall with our 4th green arrow in a row under our belt.
Last weeks talk of Wildcarding was quickly quashed, and thankfully so, given as the proposed team had no Kun, but GW12 was mentioned as a better bet for playing it, so let’s go see what transpired…
Last weeks result in full…
This weeks transfer decision
‘Much ado about nothing’ springs to mind when reviewing the minutes from this weeks meeting(s)! The proposals tabled, in a typical ‘RMT style’, were as follows;
A. Wilcard
B. A one week punt on Shaq with a view to wildcarding soon (next week!)
C. Do nothing and save the transfer for 2 of them next week after the International Break
A & B got no further than a cursory glance by 4⁄5 of the panel. It should be noted though, with caution, that our ‘other’ fifth did play his own wildcard last week and seems a little obsessed by attempting to justify it by living vicariously through the FF247 team as options 1 & 2 were his suggestions, as was last weeks wildcard proposal. Although, to be fair, and by his own admission, we probably shouldn’t listen him as he managed to remove Aguero last week and also took Sterling out at the last minute. Ouch! #imagine
The majority vote was carried, and rather boringly we therefore do nothing this week other than sit on our hands. The team looks decent enough to justify this course of action.
*Disclaimer Alert!* We should also however point out that in the course of writing this we have learned that Richarlison has emerged as a bit of doubt ahead of the weekend having not trained today. We suspect that this is simply precautionary given his ankle issue last week but if Silva suggests anything more serious in his Friday press conference then we may well look at removing Tomkins for either Dunk or Duffy of Brighton to enable us to field 11 players but also keep Richarlison ahead of Cardiff at home next week.
Our Captain is Mo Salah
Little doubt or argument about this one. In spite of both his and Liverpool’s somewhat erratic displays as of late we fully expect a backlash this week and Fulham look like prime candidates to bend over and willingly accept one!
Should Salah not make it for whatever reason then our vice-captain is Arnie.
OUR TEAM IN FULL FOR GW12…

BONUS ARTICLE! – TRENDS FROM THE TOP
Given how utterly boring our team article was with no transfer to get the juices flowing we thought it was only right to give you a bonus section! Well ok… that’s not strictly true, but let’s not allow the truth to obscure a good news story. The reality is that Beka contacted us after a small break from writing for the site, we are sure she shall tell you some story about work commitments but we do follow her on Facebook and so we know that the reality is slightly different and that she has in fact been travelling the world with reckless abandon!
The plan was that she would reappear with her previously ever popular Trends From The Top article in the International Break next week. But then went and got her GW’s all mixed up and send over one for this week! And so we have squeezed it in here for you as a Brucie Bonus.
We are of course delighted to welcome her back into the fold and so without further rambling from us it is our pleasure to reintroduce Beka and over to the good lady herself…
Trends From The Top: A look to Gameweek 12
Welcome to this week’s edition of Trends From the Top. This is a particularly exciting edition of Trends as I am returning to FF247 after a rather lengthy hiatus… had to work on that dissertation, ahem! So, for those not familiar with this piece, we take a look at the top ten performing managers via fantasy.premierleague.com in an attempt to recognise distinct, successful trends which may help us moving forward for the next upcoming Gameweek as we all look to personally climb and advance within our leagues. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at Gameweek 11 results from our top ten fantasy leaders.
Who was the most captained player by the top ten for Gameweek 11?
It should serve as little shock that Sergio Aguero was given the armband from 9 of the top 10 managers which proved to be a wise and prudent decision as Aguero collected a goal, two assists and 26 points if wearing the captain armband for your team. The one individual who steered away from Aguero, however, was indeed the most fortuitous as he collected 42 points for Sterling as he delivered 2 goals and 2 assists! Way to go, Filip VanderSchueren from Belgium and currently ranked #3 in the world!
Who were the most popular players chosen by the top ten for Gameweek 11?
Goalkeepers: For Gameweek 11, the most popular goalie was Ederson as he was selected by 30% of the top ten. Fabianski and Patricio received 20% followed by Pickford, Lossl and Foster each with 10% ownership.
Defenders: Only 12 defenders made the list for our top players and when we look at defenders for Gameweek 11, we see three dominant players; Alonso was selected by 90% while Mendy and Robertson were selected by 80%. All other defenders were only selected by one of the top ten those being: Holebas, Keane, Zabaleta, Trippier, Pereira, Ake, Jonny, Coleman and David Luiz.
Midfielders: When you look at midfielders, the top 10 managers had 12 different players. Unlike past weeks, where we would see less variety, this weekend, diversification of midfielders came into play. Hazard and Richarlison were the most popular picks with an ownership rate of 90% followed by Salah at 80%, Fraser at 30%, Sterling and Pereyra at 20% and Mane, Kenedy, Maddison, Shaqiri, Deulofeu, Luca Moura each with 10%.
Forwards: This week, only 6 forwards made the cut. 90% of our leaders had Aguero (52.2% ownership) and Wilson (32.7% ownership), 40% Arnautovic (19.8% ownership), 20% Mitrovic (21.4%0 and 10% Ings (5.1%) and Jimenez (8%).
In summation, the ‘Must-Haves’ for top managers for Gameweek 11 were Aguero, Wilson, Hazard, Richarlison, Salah, Mendy, Robertson and Alonso as they all had an ownership rate of 50% or higher.
What do we know about our #1 manager?
The current leader, Toni Haapanen whose team is called, “LTU” is from Finland. His team has a current value of 102.5m and he has already utilised three chips which are the triple captain, wildcard and the free hit. Toni has played for 7 seasons but has never finished above 597,544 so I can’t imagine his elation in currently holding the top position and he jumped 42,864 spots since the previous gameweek. Finally, Toni has a 13 point lead over Ahmad Assad Alkandan from Kuwait.
Other interesting facts:
The average score for Gameweek 11 among the top 10 was 80.7 points which is an impressive 28.7 points above the average of 52 for the week.
For perhaps the 2nd time in Trends From The Top history (remember this article was just dormant for a while), we have 10 top leaders from 10 countries! Finland holds the lead with Kuwait, Belgium, USA, Ireland, Serbia, England, New Zealand, France and Scotland rounding out the leaders.
3 of our top 10 have played 3 chips each while only one leader has not yet used one.
So there’s a reflective look at Gameweek 11.
Will knowing any of this information, impact or influence any fantasy football trades?
Let us know in the comment section below and as always, best of luck in Gameweek 12!
P.S. This article is dedicated to my biggest and most loyal fan… my Dad aka “Jo Jo’s Jumpers!” Thank you for your love and support!

Afternoon folks, this is the squad for me at the mo. Had 2fts so thinking Jimenez to Arnie but to fund it i’ve had to oust Alonso for Gomez but it doubles up on Liverpool defence. Yeah or Nae ?
Hmm. Given the Richarlison injury concern, I would be tempted by Rich to Felipe Anderson, saving a transfer. Not sure if Alonso out is the way to go, but you’d think Pool keep a cleanie, so if you think Gomez starts I wouldn’t deter you from making that move. How diplomatic of me
Right then, you wonderful lot. What to do with this bunch?
Got 1FT, £0.3m in the bank and a whole lot of ‘injury concern’ in Robertson and Richarlison.
Pickford and Doherty look like deadweights this week tbh, although Doherty’s fixtures turn good next week and Pickford has a good one next week. I was considering doing nothing, but Richarlison/Robertson is worrying me. Balbuena in for WB is an option I am considering, almost expecting Doherty to come in for someone. Pickford will have to wait in that case.
Thanks in advance
Don’t buy Hazard 😉
Didn’t plan on it 😉
Hi AT, I hadn’t heard anything about a Robertson injury from anywhere, does it sound serious? Not sure if Klopp mentioned anything in his press conference.
On Richarlison, apparently he took place in light training today, so he could at least make the bench. Doesn’t sound long term so He’ll be back for next game week if he doesn’t make the Chelsea game.
Considering Pickford is starting for you every week, I think replacing him would be my priority if he were in my team, with Chelsea and Liverpool in Everton’s next 3 fixtures. Un-glamorous, but replacing him with someone like Ryan who has great fixtures could well gain you a few points!
I think you have a really strong team other than this!! Good luck!
Cheers billis. My other thought was Fabianski, who I think will outscore Pickford and Ryan over the foreseeable, but City next week and Pickford against Cardiff makes me feel like I’m better off just sticking for the next two as they’ll cancel each other out!
Ryan is an interesting one. Feels weird to back Brighton! And I have that early kick off phobia. I know, I know.
Robertson trained away from the group for the last few days after Tuesday. Played the full 90 too, so wouldn’t be surprised to see Moreno feature against Fulham!
AT, if you think Fabianski is your best bet go with your gut! West ham’s fixtures are very very good for the foreseeable future barring Man City as you mentioned. My worry with them is that they’ve only kept 1 clean sheet this whole season, and somehow it was against Chelsea!
I have Ryan in my team, so I’m always going to be bias, but yeah, Brighton have good fixtures and surprisingly he’s actually the 3rd highest scoring keep in the game so far after Alisson and Ederson.
What I’ve learnt from this game however is that going against your gut only seems to lead to regret, so it’s down to you who you choose!
And that’s interesting insight on Robertson – missed that! I did see the game Morano played against Cardiff, and he was partially at fault for the goal. Klopp seems to trust him regardless though, and as you say Fulham could be a perfect match for giving Robbo a rest. I’ll be hoping Robertson plays myself!!
Balbuena is a good option to cover that at 4.4 mil as you mentioned, I just personally don’t trust the West Ham defense yet!
Best of luck mate!
Yep, you make a good point and I think it is something I often overlook. The fixtures can be good, but they don’t matter much if the team can’t keep clean sheets anyway!
Let’s have another ponder. Cheers mate. Massive help, as always.
No problem at all AT! Not sure if this makes things any easier, but Fab is defo a class keeper who’s always making saves! I would expect West Ham to get pick up a few more clean sheets sooner or later!!
Cheers billis. You’re right, it just made it a more difficult decision again
Already used my 1 FT for Maddison-Anderson. Should I take a hit to get Wilson for Mitrovic or stay put as planning to use the WC during the IB?
I did!
Interesting move Ivan! If it pays off he’ll be a major differential!
On the Wilson move, he may well score against Newcastle, however he then has Arsenal and Man City for his next two fixtures. What I would say is that at -4, it is a risk. Even if Wilson scores against Newcastle and gets, lets say, 6 points, since it’s really only 2 points due to the -4, he won’t have got you more points than if Mitro had blanked. I would have been tempted to get Arnie in if you hadn’t boiught Anderson, and even still think West Ham’s fixtures are hard to ignore!!
Best of luck to you whatever you choose! Fortune favours the brave as they say!!
That is a good point billisBob. I think I will stick and see what can be done with WC. I planned to get Anderson 2-3 weeks ago but because of other issues couldn’t do it. I would go for Arnie but 0.1 short.
Ahh that’s a shame about the -1!!
I think if I were you I might hold on to Mitro for the time being… Glen Murray at 6.6 mil could be a good option for you with decent form and good fixtures, but I wouldn’t take a hit for him this week myself.
Good luck with the Anderson pick! He’s a good player and in the last game seemed to gel with the team a lot more for sure. Could well pay off!!
Stay put!
Anyone thinking about bringing Martial in? I’m tempted as I have the cash!!
My 2 main options this week
1)Tarcowski (vs Leicester)-> Mendy (vs Man U)
2)Brooks (vs Newcastle) -> Martial (vs Man City)
I also have Fraser from Bournemouth as well as Brooks.
I could hold off on Martial for a week to avoid the City fixture and keep Brooks for the Newcastle fixture, but that being said, Martial has been scoring in big games recently. Tough decision!!
I would hold mate, martial does look tempting but United has been on/off and Bournemouth has been good so hold!
Thanks for the input snookie! I’m leaning towards that option. 7.5 mil is a great price point though!!
Out of the two, I’d go for Martial. I think I’d be tempted to stick this week though but, like you say, if your gut is saying Martial, grab him. I’ve always thought he’d be a good price from a fantasy point of view if he got consistent game time.
0FT, 0.9 ITB, Should I replace Maddison for a hit? With whom?
I’m not gonna lie to you Snookie, Martial could be a good option long term!! hahaha
5 goals in his last 5 in the prem, scored against Juve last week, past the Man City fixture he has palace and southamton. But yeah I wouldn’t do it for a hit this week!
Considering the other main option at this price point – Richarlison – is a fitness doubt for the next game I wouldn’t take a hit for him either as the risk is high with a -4. Shame about the doubt as he’s in great form too!
So I guess if I were you I would just ride this one out until next week. It may not be an especially high scoring week consequently,, but it could be worse if you take a hit for someone who doesn’t play many minutes (if at all).
Damnit you !
hahaha sorry Snookie!!
You could go for Sigurdson as an alternative to Richarlison as you know he’ll play this week, but long term I prefer Rich as he’s playing as a striker. good luck mate
I’ve got B. Silva, thinking about F. Anderson or Shaqiri to replace him.. What do you think?
Robertson – Mendy – Alonso
Hazard – Ricalison – B Silva – Mane
Arnie – Aguero – Glen M
Love the idea of Shaq as a differential! Expecting a liverpool result against Fulham so he could go off on one!
B Silva is still a decent pick though, especially as he’s less of a rotation risk with De Bruyne out again.
Best of luck amigo!
