Lies, damned lies and statistics
61 points in GW17 saw us beat the average by 5pts but fall further down the rankings. We now stand at 76,701st – not the worst but we need to stop the rot before it sets in as that is now a run of four consecutive red arrows. Our 61 points were nicely shared throughout the team – rare clean sheets for Pope and TAA were a pleasant surprise, while assists for Mane, Vardy and Jimenez have become the norm. A Monday night late goal for Zaha helped us recover somewhat, but like many, the star of the show was again Lord Lundstram with a clean sheet, assist and 2bps. Praise the Lord!
Our GW17 Result…
Let’s go see what was decided…
Our GW18 Transfer(s)
Going into GW18 we had just the one free transfer but a bumper balance of £5.4m. Funny that, the correlation between our increasing war chest and our decline in ran…
As a good many of you are finding out this week it’s a tough one to call with any degree of confidence. We discussed letting one of our Liverpool assets go, simply because if we didn’t we would probably be looking at have zero back up on our bench. This was put to bed quickly though as one sleuth dug out the interesting notion that the midweek of GW24 was being slated for Liverpool’s rearranged game with West Ham, which is sooner than you think (Jan 28th – 30th), and so we decided to keep hold of them.
We next turned out attentions to someone who we have been eyeing up for a good while now, in the shape of KDB (chasing points much?). We were however a bit short on that one as we wanted to keep McGinn for his healthy run of fixtures and it was Cantwell who had been earmarked as the one to leave. Eventually we settled on a compromise of bringing in Son. This week’s game could yield plenty of goals and then Spurs have a decent looking Christmas schedule, and we all know how much Son enjoys this time of year.
To confirm then we have SOLD Todd Cantwell and BOUGHT Heung-Min Son
Captain – Dele Alli
This is where it got really interesting as we had a fairly well split camp with Alli, Son and Jimenez all grabbing votes. And a statistical campaign to derail the Alli supporters was started in earnest, but was quickly countered with even more outlandish claims from the Alli camp itself. Let’s just say that we had things ranging from him having never scored against Chelsea in his life; to having scored something like 23 in his last 4 games against them! We suspect that the truth is somewhere in-between…
As a compromise the Son supporter flipped and so Alli gets to wear our armband this week.

Lies, damn lies and statistics… :punish:
Evening all
Am I set for GW18? I have switched to Kane as capo! Fingers crossed it doesn’t backfire!
Really want to get in Rashford but I think I will have to stick with what I have as this will cause me problems next week!
Mitro, surely you play Kelly over Soyuncu?
Am tempted to do that, think soy has been unlucky over the past few weeks and should have had a couple of goals from set pieces!
I still find it funny you have triple Spurs
One will be going next week
With those fixtures Mitro? If you have already have three why not keep them?
TOT have one if not two more good fixtures so I would hang on to them in the near term.
Hi guys, hope you’re all set for the weekend! Just curious, would you make any changes to my starting lineup?
Think I’d play Rico over Kelly but could go either way
Probably Pulisic to Grealish/Richarlison/Traore
Cheers guys
Hey Tekno. I’d play Rico for Targett. Cheers mate
Hey guys, who would you bench out of Sou sauce and Rico this gw?
Soy sauce*
I’d play Rico
Will bench soyuncu
Am I good to go? Was thinking Soyuncu to dunk maybe?
Yep
Ta
I meant play Dunk over Soy if I weren’t clear
Got that
After a long thinking decided to use the FT and did Kevin → Mane for one GW only, or maybe a bit longer. It was part of the preparation as Kun is about to return and Gabriel’s playing time will be reduced once again, as Smash rightly noted earlier.
The question is, which defender should I drop as have the feelings that Cantwell might find his 5th goal for the season at home, where he usually scores, against the Wolves :scratch_one-s_head:
probably kelly or dunk ivan
Yep, I think it will be Kelly eresh. Newcastle are much improved and quite good at home team.
