Oh what could have been…
It’s fair to say we have mixed feelings this week; we sold Rashford (12 points) and Sane (10 points) and bought Wilson (6 points) and Pogba (3 points). Well ok, we say mixed…! It is actually mixed though as we didn’t drop off a cliff as a result, voluntarily or otherwise, we did somehow manage to still grab a green arrow, albeit not as big a one as we would have, had we simply overslept on New Year’s Day, or something similarly convenient. Someone please remind us next year to simply get blind drunk and forget the team!

As it was we somehow scraped through with 63 points, with only really Kane (c) on 24 and Son with 13 pulling any weight. Wilson did get that 6 and the much derided Shaw got 5, the rest barely played, as far as we could tell.

We rose about 8k to 44,626th. Had we not done our ‘moves’ we would have been…….. we jest, we couldn’t stomach such an analysis. Someone will probably furnish us with said info in the comments section anyway!

This week’s transfer decision…
We go into GW22 with one free transfer and £1.6m in the bank.

We’ve actually decided to sit on our hands and do nothing, as boring as that may sound. And no, it’s not an extreme reaction to last week’s debacle of decisions, it’s simply because we feel we can field a decent enough team this week without any changes, and with Son exiting stage left after this week we rather like the idea of two free transfers and a bit of flexibility next week to deal with that inevitable situation.

Looking at our team this week the fixtures are actually a bit naff for many of them but we do accept that this will be the case for the majority too. You just like to see more favourable opposition, but perhaps aesthetics isn’t everything in FPL; somebody still always scores points in these games.

To confirm then we have SOLD & BOUGHT; nobody!

*Disclaimer on Wilson; Reports are suggesting contrasting things about young Callum at the time of publishing, ranging from; not being pictured training, to being fit and available, to being off to either Chelsea or West Ham! Suffice to say we shall monitor this situation closely and if anything more concrete emerges in the next day or so we will act accordingly. We shall be sure to say so in the comments if our plans do change drastically! Well ok, it won’t be that drastic; we shall either bench him or sell him for a similarly priced striker, probably one called Rashford, oh the irony…

Our Captain is Mo Salah
It’s not often we get a clean sweep on the captain vote, in fact it’s ‘hen’s teeth’ territory when it’s a clean sweep on both that and the vice captain vote but that’s what we had this week. Five votes, and every single one said ‘ Salah (c), Kane (v). We don’t actually ask for reasons, but if we had we suspect that they would touch on the same thing as above really; best fixture out of a bad bunch, relatively speaking.

    On my wildcard, still got 0.9m in the bank to spend. What do you think of my team? Any suggestions to improve it?

    • Hi Denzel, only thing I’d possibly look to dissuade you from there would be the double double up on Saints and Palace at the back really. You may as well differentiate at least one of the pairs, if not both given that your other defenders will probably take precedence anyway in most weeks, Doherty aside.

      • Thanks for the advice, I’ve taken out the double saints defence. Palace don’t concede a lot at home so think doubling up some times might work.

    • I’m not convinced Doherty is worth 5.2m, and Leicester have tough fixtures so not sold on Pereira either. Shaw, Digne & Trippier would be on my radar instead.

      I think you need to upgrade Camarasa. Without drastic changes to raise funds I’d suggest Redmond (or Brooks).

      • If I was on a WC i’d make sure i’d have some City coverage, their upcoming fixtures look tasty.

  3. If anyone is still up, should I do these moves tonight before Salah rises or not worth it?

    • If it’s already active then yeah you may as well if you are likely to end up with them anyway.

      • Cheers Init, I left it in the end but luckily Salah didn’t rise so can still do today ….do you think Salah is worth the multiple downgrades? Even though long way off I kinda got one eye on the dgws and the BB chip for which I think my current team looks ok but also need to regain 1st place in my ml in the meantime!
        Who would you go for between Salah and Kane?

    • On paper that’s a good side for this week. Man U and WHU have porous defences so having Auba and Kane is no bad thing. You’ve a strong captain.

      You’ll feel good with 2FT next week: you’ll feel a million dollars.

    • Very similar to my team, but the difference is I have 2FTs… I’m struggling to sell either Auba or Kane for Salah even without a hit smile Definitely don’t get Salah for a hit, just roll and become a millionaire a la Kralin! 😉

    Ive 2ft and 2.1m ITB. I played the WC a few weeks back with the plan to do hazard to Salah after this GW, will probably stick to that even though Hazard has been a bad call.

    I dont want to lose a FT so wondering if Felipe Anderson and Lingard should be moved on for Sane and a cheapie

    • I’d do Sane in for Son.

      Salah & cheapo in for Hazard & Lingard/Anderson next week.

      • I don’t know how much you paid for your players, by If you did Sane in for Son you would need about £1m so that leaves you £1.1m. Selling Anderson and Lingard will get you £14m ( at best) leaving you £15.1m so if you buy Salah you’ll only be left with £1.8m ?

    • Yeah that’s perfectly fine!

    • Seems sensible.

      Fab to Etheridge is another option. Depends on your opinion on Fab, he’ll annoyed me significantly over the last few weeks.
