FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW23
Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW23.
Extraordinary(ly) (Pointless) General Meeting…
We won’t beat around the bush here; GW22 was less than kind to us. We scraped home with just 48 points, 9 below the average. Inevitably it meant a big red arrow, one to the tune of almost exactly 50,000 places, which now sees us in 141,497th, our 2nd lowest ranking of the season. Our entire team managed just 3 assists and 1 goal between them. Our highest scoring player was captain Vardy with just 10, and that was doubled up from 5, which pretty much tells you all you need to know.
Our GW22 Result…
Let’s go see what was decided this week…
Our GW23 Transfer(s)
We come into GW23 with 1 FT and £1.5m in the bank.
As mentioned last week we decided that we were going down the ‘Robbo’ route, as opposed to the Salah one. And with that in mind we needed to raise a bit of cash. We began that process by losing Alli to Maddison and this week the cull continues at a pace…
Anyone who has followed us with any modicum of interest over the years will know that we are anything but rash and certainly don’t go making early transfers just to beat the odd price rise. That was until this week! We don’t normally even have a ‘team’ meeting until a Thursday but on Wednesday night we were alerted that our intended target Danny Ings was on the cusp of a price rise, cue an Extraordinary General Meeting. Cue people being dragged out of bed, away from their TV’s and families, pulling over at roadsides and in some cases even as extreme as having to stop shopping for FF247 branded phone cases.
Possibilities were explored, including a fresh discussion about whether Robbo was indeed the correct path, which brought Firmino and Salah back onto the table, albeit briefly. The upshot was that we were happy enough to make an early transfer, for once, and so it was done; Tammy left us, Danny joined and our plans were still on course. They do still teeter on the brink of disaster though as we are now bang on the money to acquire Robbo at the expense of Mings next week. It’s a situation we shall just have to monitor and we have a back up strategy should something go wrong which could conceivably involve either Firmino or Salah again.
And then after all that scrambling… Ings didn’t rise after all! D’oh!
To confirm then we have SOLD Tammy Abraham and BOUGHT Danny Ings
Captain – Kevin De Bruyne
With City looking back in form and facing Palace at home this week Kevin romped home with 4 votes. Jamie Vardy picked up the other plus all of the votes for Vice Captain, so if Pep were to do something silly he will step in.

Hi everyone, thanks for the articles!
After a few miserable weeks, my plan with 1FT and 4.9 itb! is to… not do anything. And save the FT to make some big Liverpool moves in GW24. Does that look correct? Is my captain “correct”?
Hey Frenchie, your captain is what the 90% captain will be
So, what is the big pool move as I am planning one as well? Have 5.1 ITB and 1 FT but keeping it for next week, even will be playing without a GK due to Ramsdale injury.
Currently my thinking is Traore, Maddison and Sterling to Salah, Mane and Can’t well for – 4. But I need to make sure I can afford that first
And I’ll probably have to revert some it later as my team will be a bit unbalanced. I’m really not that sure.
Or rather Cantwell
I think that is quite a wise move. As you have two City mids is much easier for you. I only have KDB and don’t want to part with him. I am taking a hit too in other to bring TAA and Salah or Firmino. The hope is this weekend goes without casualties, otherwise all plans will be wrecked.
Hi guys,
Hope you’re good!
That Richarlison injury news has been a wounder! Do you reckon I should let it take its course and have Greenwood come in, or take a four-point hit and bring in Salah early?
Cheers in advance!
I think if anyone can justify a -4 it’s Mo. Given Rico and Kelly are your other bench options and there’s no guarantee for Greenwood minutes I’d be inclined to go for it. (Maybe because I’ve decided on a -4 next week and I need the company! :wink2: )
Word is he’ll be back in GW24 but if you’re getting Salah then For him anyway then a -4 now isn’t so bad!
The original plan was to get rid of Grealish, to be honest. With that in mind, what do you reckon?
hmmmm tricky but I’d probably keep him if you don’t want the hit! I’ve went way of piste and used both my 2 FTs and blowing apart my DGW plans! But hey what’s the worst that can happen!
Good luck to all this weekend, I’ll be traveling and away from the matches. Brought Kun in for Rash and stuck the armband on him. It’s now or never for my season. Wish me luck! (And 3 pts for Fulham today vs Boro!! COYW)
good luck! Did the same!!
Really hesitating… 2FT, 2.2 ITB
* Option TAA: This week: Alli, Schmeichel –> Maddison, Ryan; next week: Targett –>TAA
* Option Salah: Alli, Abraham–>Salah, Carlver-Lewin/Ayew. (If DCL, has to be now because funds are exactly right. If Ayew I can postpone and do another transfer this week. Schmeichel–>Ryan to avoid double Leicester defense?)
* Option Firmino: This week: anything (Alli, Schmeichel –> Maddison, Ryan?), next week Abraham–>Firmino
Any preference?
Brain says TAA, heart says Salah…
Option Salah for me.
I concur
Init, Mitro, thanks!
Salah it is!
Big news: this GW Brighton’s Button has lost his first 0.1m :cray2: . Why are people selling him? Surely there’s no better option at that price :close_tema: !
Rumour has it it’s all down to AJW, he bought and sold him 12 times on his WC this week
:punish: swine!!
:big-lol:
Curious what happened to the weekly article that covered the pressers. There hasn’t been one since week 14 I think.
We canned it. It’s a bitch to produce. It was fine when we had 5 or 6 available to help but for various (mainly work) reasons that dwindled to about 2 at any given time and it’s not viable / fair with that amount.
Got it.
