Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW23.

Our score of 65 in GW22 saw us record our first red arrow in seven weeks, despite us beating the average of 57. This is what a failed captain (Salah), a blanking goalkeeper (McCarthy) and failures on the part of Dallas and Targett (one point apiece) brings. Luckily for us everyone else delivered – the mandatory clean sheet for Dias, assists aplenty for Grealish, Gundogan, Bamford and Antonio while Bingo Bruno was the stand out with the full house of goal, assist(s) and clean sheet.

The red arrow takes us back to 967,981 but with 2 free transfers, a wildcard in hand and double game-weeks coming up we’re confident of a strong finish.

Our GW23 Transfer(s)
With two free transfers we’ve going big on the Burnley backline, buying Pope and Lowton for Forster and the out of favour Chilwell. This is mainly with an eye on their newly announced DGW in which they have fairly favourable fixtures. Both also come straight into our team this week as they welcome Brighton. We have kept McCarthy, not only for comedy value, but also because Saints are likely to have a couple of DGW’s of their own soon.

To confirm then we have SOLD Forster & Chilwell and BOUGHT Pope & Lowton

Our captain is Bruno as we look to him to add to last week’s impressive tally. Our vice-captain is Antonio.

  1. Hi all, I am not sure if my bench and bench order is right. Please help!

    • The way Cancelo is operating I would play him. I think ahead of AWB. Everton’s left hand side is very handy on its day. He’ll be busy I think.

      • It’s a tough class benching AWB but I would in favour of Cancelo.

        • Thanks guys, I thought you would suggest me to play Cancello instead of Dallas, GP could be right but hard to play AWB after last week.

        • Dallas would be my second choice but really I think Dallas has the better fixture

  3. Was set on doing Chilwell to Dallas but now I’m thinking about Alonso instead! Do we think Alonso will keep starting or will there be some rotation?

      • It’s hard to know for sure as it’s a new manager. Tuchel rotates wingbacks I think. I think Chilwell plays this week personally and I see rotation ahead for the two personally

        • So I’d stick with Dallas. :drinks:

        • He used to rotate the PSG ones, even in a flat back 4. I only know this from CL experience of him.

          Alonso looked good again last night, in fact very fresh for someone who’s just played two games in a few days having not done so, or indeed even played at all, for however long. That said he’s still getting on and so yeah I see a fair bit of rotation ahead there.

        • I definately see chilwell getting a chance at fullback this week, im sure of it.

    • Cheers guys! So it’s either get Dallas or keep Chilwell for this week and hope he plays. Damn, will have to think a bit about that one… :wacko:

    • If Alonso played against Burnley to deal with their physical attributes then I can also see him playing against Sheffield United for the same reason.

    Who should I bench, DCL, Soucek or Maddison against a woves?

    Then I have 2ft and 5.9 itb, I am thinking of doing
    Struijk to Lowton and bench AWB. Is this a sound move?

    • Definitely would not bench Maddison. 50/50 on the other two.

      Bench AWB is hard after the haul. I guess it makes sense.

    • I’d do the transfer but would leave Lowton on the bench anyway

    • I guess I will buy Lowton tonight, and make the decision on who to bench before tomorrow’s deadline.

    What do you think of bench and bench order. Is there even a case to start Bednarek over Cancelo?
