FF247 FPL Team GW23

Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW23.

Our score of 65 in GW22 saw us record our first red arrow in seven weeks, despite us beating the average of 57. This is what a failed captain (Salah), a blanking goalkeeper (McCarthy) and failures on the part of Dallas and Targett (one point apiece) brings. Luckily for us everyone else delivered – the mandatory clean sheet for Dias, assists aplenty for Grealish, Gundogan, Bamford and Antonio while Bingo Bruno was the stand out with the full house of goal, assist(s) and clean sheet.

The red arrow takes us back to 967,981 but with 2 free transfers, a wildcard in hand and double game-weeks coming up we’re confident of a strong finish.

Our GW22 Result…

Let’s go see what was decided…

Our GW23 Transfer(s)
With two free transfers we’ve going big on the Burnley backline, buying Pope and Lowton for Forster and the out of favour Chilwell. This is mainly with an eye on their newly announced DGW in which they have fairly favourable fixtures. Both also come straight into our team this week as they welcome Brighton. We have kept McCarthy, not only for comedy value, but also because Saints are likely to have a couple of DGW’s of their own soon.

To confirm then we have SOLD Forster & Chilwell and BOUGHT Pope & Lowton

Captain – Bruno
Our captain is Bruno as we look to him to add to last week’s impressive tally. Our vice-captain is Antonio.

  2. I think Liverpool will score against City this game week so it wrong to bench Ederson, Stones and Foden?

Similarly, I have De Gea and Shaw in my starting 11 with DCL on the bench.

    Sound like a (crazy) plan?

    Jamie

    • It might be easier to call if we could see the team, but yes, it does sounds somewhat crazy :wink2:

      • The team is linked.

      • This probably won’t help your current train of though Jamie, but for what it’s worth, I own Stones & Cancelo and am currently planning on playing them both. Form over fixture and all that. I’m very aware that this is highly prone to screw me though.

    • It sounds fine to me. It’s a very tricky week, bench-wise (the form of Soucek doesn’t help that side of things, either).

I’ve DCL first off my bench as well. Based on form I have both my City defenders starting but am not under many illusions.

    • De Gea
      Dallas, Coufal, Shaw, Mee
      Salah, Son, Soucek, Barnes
      Bamford, Watkins

      Ederson, DCL, Foden, Stones

      Thanks for the comments everyone.

Either a genius or a clown.

      Jamie

  3. Currently have dcl playing and Watkins first sub. Thinking to switch them as he has more of a chance scoring against a depleted arsenal defence rather than dcl against man u?

    • Truthfully my debate, if you can call it that, was more starting Soucek over DCL.

Watkins’ fixture seemed the better one out of him and DCL so I didn’t think about that for too long.

    • If it helps, the bookies favour Watkins with odds of 2.88 to score, compared to 3.1 for DCL.

  4. Evening everyone!

This is my team with 2 FTs and 2.4 in the bank. Thinking of just doing Mccarthy to Pope, which would leave 1.4 in the bank and then 2 FTs for next week again. Not ideal in being without Son, but it’d probably only be for West Brom and I’m not keen on losing Salah, Bruno or Sterling for him.

Your thoughts would be much appreciated smile

    • What about Forster for Pope? MCCarthy does at least have a DGW in 25 and he can cover for Pope in his bad games in 27 & 28. Although I appreciate you may have WC’d by then.

      • Cheers, Init! Yeah, I did look at that, but think I will have wildcarded by then and so can bring him back or go for someone else to cover those.

    • Why not just do Forster to Pope
      Then Bench McCarthy

  5. Is this the best starting and bench order? — thanks Guys

  6. Does my team look okay for this week? 5.9 in the bank and 1FT. I’m thinking of saving the FT with all the DGW.
