FF247 FPL Site Team News GW23

Last week and this week have been dominated by the return of a certain long, blonde haired man. We decided to fore go Haaland and roll our transfer. Unfortunately, we didn’t give the birthday boy the armband and he spoiled the party. We handed it to Foden and Alvarez didn’t like that grabbing a brace and 3 bonus points for a brilliant 13 points. Still Foden managed a respectable 12 points so it wasn’t a total captaincy fail!

In fact, over half of the team returned something with only our backline failing miserably. Saliba got 2 points after conceding yet another late goal, Trent got 1 point off the bench in his return and Estupinan was a massive failure who conceded 3 goals before the half and then being hooked off by De Zerbi. We will be hoping for better in GW23 that’s for sure!

Our attackers helped us finish up on a very good 65pts which was 17pts over the GW average of 48. This was able to give us our second green arrow in a row and took us from 2359th back around the 1000 mark to 1686th. We are back on the march for that top spot and with our unquestionable new decision making tactic (more on that below), I’m sure we will do it!

Our GW22 Result…

We have £6.2 in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of GW23. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW23 Transfer(s)

We had 2 transfers to mess around with this week but much like last week everything was forgotten even deciding on who would be captain because the large decision was Haaland, to buy or not to buy? Well there are 6 of us on the site team and we were evenly split 3-3. Usually the writer of this week’s article will just make an executive decision but I (Matt) did not want that absolute power because as Lord Acton said “absolute power corrupts absolutely” so instead I suggest a new decision making process.

This is an insight into how I have been making my hard decisions in life FPL…. THE WHEEL! crazy That’s right, this week’s team has been decided by none of us here in the FF247 ivory tower but rather we left it to the WHEEL GOD! ALL HAIL THE WHEEL! I couldn’t put the screen record of the spin in but here is a screenshot of the vote….

The Wheel decided we needed to bring in Haaland. Will it be the correct move? Who knows but atleast this way if it fails…. it’s NOT my fault! The player we have sold to bring him back was a tough call and why the vote was split but Ollie Watkins has been sacrificed by the Wheel for the Norwegian God.

After we let fate decide our moves we needed to settle on who would take the armband. We took the reins back for this one and had a clear winner, Erling Haaland, the VC was put on Cole Palmer, just in case. Let’s hope for returns like last weekend from our attackers!

To confirm then we have SOLD Watkins and BOUGHT Haaland and ROLLED ONE FT

Captain – Haaland

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Hi guys! Facing a little selection headache this GW with my five midfielders and three strikers.

Who would you bench between Saka (Liv H), Gordon (Lut H), Richarlison (Eve A), and Watkins (Shu A)? I’ve currently put Gordon on the bench.
    Cheers!

Plan last week was bring in eze for son which I did and was rewarded with a brace however he may be injured now. I planned this week on bring in haaland for archer and benching eze. Means going 343 it would prob be eze or palmer on my bench most weeks. Is archer to haalans still a good plan. I feel that some alvarez owners nay be reluctant to sell him just yet so I may potentially gain a slight advantage

      Archer to Haaland sounds great.

Agreed. But benching Eze or Palmer does not

        • leeboy104 says:

From Hodgson’s quotes I assumed Eze is out.

Hodgson on Eze and Olise: “I don’t know with Eze – he came off feeling tightness in his hamstring. He’s going shortly for a scan.

“When it comes to Michael, I’m presuming and hoping he will be okay.”

Confirms it was precautionary to take him off #CPFC

    Evening all,

Defo going for Haaland but not sure who to move on, initial thoughts was to get rid of Alvarez but I am tempted to move on Watkins. If I keep Alvarez, Foden will need to go.

    Currently have 2FT & £6m ITB.

Also will have a benching headache, any advice or suggestions?
