Another decent week here, and yet again also one that could have been so much better; but for some fine margin decisions this week in both team & bench selection, and some much wider ones in weeks previous. To have Shaw with his 8 points sat behind Camarasa on the bench is gutting. To have Rashford not even in the squad, having owned him a few weeks back is baffling, but more on that later! As for those who we did bother to pick Fabianski (9) and Digne (12) did us proud, and Wan-B did us even prouder with his simple 4 points… 3 of them somehow coming in the form of bonus points despite conceding 2 goals in a defeat, go figure, Superman he truly is.

Captain Salah carried the can for our mids and forwards with a contribution of 22. It’s just as well he did as the other 6 managed 1 assist between them and not much else for a total of 16 between the sorry lot.

All in all this left us with 69 points, which was 20 above the average, and another overall green arrow which saw us jump nearly 10k to 35,665th, which is actually our highest rank so far this season. And with all of our chips in hand we are feeling fairly confident about a strong finish.

Last week’s result…

This week may present some challenges though as we own Son, who was obviously always earmarked for removal this week, but also TAA and Kane who have both now been ruled out long (ish) term. We do however have 2 free transfers and £1.6m in the bank, so let’s go see how we decided to utilise it all…

This week’s transfer decision…
… wasn’t exactly a picnic! Kids and candy shops spring to mind, especially with the money that releasing Kane and Son afforded us. Then again it’s not that often in FPL that you find yourself with twenty odd million and two free transfers to use on it. We could have had pretty much anyone we wanted, so you’d think it would be easy peasy. Left to ones own devices then yes it probably would be, ask five different blokes though and that complicates matters somewhat.

The key decision really was the Kane replacement. Rashford and Aubameyang were the prime candidates debated. The former presented a problem though as we already owned three Man United players, and thus sparked a debate as to how to rectify that particular situation. As an aside though, and before we continue, we should add that Aguero wasn’t actually mentioned once, and that’s despite one of the panel already taking a hit to bring him in and at least one other we know of seriously considering doing so!

It was boiled down to one of two options really;

Kane & Son out for Aubameyang & Sane… or

Kane, Son & Martial out for Rashford, Sane & Alli (for a -4)

The panel was so split that we even asked on site in the comments for opinions; and that came back just about as inconclusive too. This one literally came down to the wire with a split panel; two on each side and one with a completely different suggestion altogether (Kane & Martial for Rashford & Sane), but in all honesty nobody really had the stomach (or time) left for a third debate!

Ultimately, we went with… Kane & Son out for Aubameyang & Sane

We’d love to tell you why but we honestly can’t, it really could have gone either way. We get the feeling that had we not had the ‘three Man United’ issue that Rashford would probably have come in. Rejecting the ‘hit’ scenario was perhaps simply a fear that Martial would slap us in the face with two juicy home games ahead.

Fair to say your committee is now a bit ‘spent’, but never let it be said they don’t at least try!

Our Captain is Mo Salah
This one was at least a bit easier, in fact it was done and dusted in less than 5 seconds. Which probably tells you everything you need to know as to why.

    Afternoon Gents,

    Would appreciate some help.

Pondering the Kane transfer, this will be for a -4:

    1) Kane out Auba in
    2) Kane out Firmino in

I don’t have Mo, and I’m also happy to bring in Firmino for this week and then switch to Auba the next.

    Thoughts apreciated!

Well i have a great problem here folks. I’ve come up with 3 answers.
    1- Kane/Jimenez to Kun/Rashford
2- Kane/Jimenez to Auba/Rashford, leaves no Citeh coverage.

0FT. Do a -4 to sort TAA now or do it after tomorrow using FT?

    Fabianski
    Robbo Digne Doherty
    Anderson Salah(C) Hazard Pogba Højbjerg
    Auba Jimenez

    Boruc Kamara AWB TAA*

TAA update, “Gini and Trent we will decide day by day. The exceptional part is that they both played 90mins (at Brighton). Trent, what a boy! It was just what happened before the game, playing didn’t make it worse. It will be close for tomorrow.”

in light of the TAA news,
is it worth doing a -4 for kane out to Firmino/Auba.
If i make the transfer I will need to bench TAA.

So is it worth the gamble that he plays?!
