FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW37
Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW37. No sooner had we made giant strides into the top 100k after a run of 9 successive rises, our world and ranking came crashing back down. We scored 42, net 38 – below average and we slumped down to 87k. We’re not massively surprised as we all took a look at our team post Free Hit and cringed. Our only City player was not Sterling, or Jesus, or Sane. Nope we had Gundogan. And we didn’t even play him. Our best success was at the back with clean sheets from Dunk and our Burnley duo. Kane with a Monday night tap-in was our only goal of the week. Yep, it was that bad that even Captain Salah blanked.
We move onto this week – the big double and hope our luck changes. Some decent City coverage would help…..
Last Week’s Result –
Let’s go and see what we have decided to do this week…
This Weeks Transfers –
Sold Vardy, Salah and Bailly & Bought Jesus, Sterling and Chambers
Selling Murray was our initial priority, as we don’t feel he will do anything this week, until it became clear that doing so meant that the replacements suggested were all a bit sub standard as a result. Selling Vardy gave us a bit more scope. But still not quite enough scope to reach our intended targets of Jesus and Sterling. And so reluctantly, sort of, Salah came in to our firing line. Is it possible to say that a 43 goal, multiple player of the year winner has looked a bit off the pace in his last two games and may bomb again this week? That’s not to say he won’t suddenly go bang again against Chelsea, he may well do, but we were scratching around for any small reason to sell him to aid our other desired transfers this week!
Jesus and Sterling need little explanation, just take one look at their fixtures and form. We just need Pep to play ball now and start them both!
Chambers fell in to our lap, much as Arsenal did in to Simeone’s. We were already debating a move for the much more expensive Monreal in a different combination of transfers and then Koscielny got stretchered off and low and behold a cheap route into the Arsenal defence presented itself. Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth and all that…
The Team In Full…
Triple Captain Time! – Harry Kane
We are on our Triple Captain this week and the voting was close. Although, strangely, young Raheem wasn’t involved! We expected a split vote between him, Jesus and Kane and yet Jesus and Kane got all the votes between them. It was so close in fact that the deciding vote was cast by proxy by someone who didn’t even know the vote was occurring and was almost certainly asleep at the time! We won’t bore you with the details but suffice to say we’ve known him for 10 years, to say he’s risk averse would be an understatement, and he captains Kane more than Kane would captain himself.
The truth is that there is no clear cut candidate this week. All 3 could stake a legitimate claim and as we all know the correct answer will probably end up being some random player who nobody expected. Probably Glenn Murray knowing our luck!

There are no budget restrictions like in FPL so it’s open season on the big players and makes it easy and quick to play. But can you pick the right team to win big?
Morning all
Ive 1FT and 1.3mITB and TC chip to play. I need some advice on the following:
1. Tarkowski to Davies (no hit and 10 DGW players)
2. Vardy & Willian to Ayew & Eriksen (-4)
If I was to do option 1, would you play Ibe at home to Swansea or Dunk vs City & United
Option 1 with Dunk playing for me.
I agree with Init! Good luck.
cheers
cheers Init – who are you on for the TC or is it BB for you this week
BB for me. Captain is probably going to be Jesus.
+1
Huge points ahead there FF247.
Very best of luck boys!
Evening all, we all set? Capo is a nightmare this week! On Jesus but the draw to sensible Kane is strong…………
Morning.. Purely on form and fixtures its between Sterling and Jesus for me.If i knew Sterling would play both games i wouldnt hesitate on giving him the armband.
Agreed Brooky, i’ve followed and gone back to Kane but it feels so wrong!!!
I took the band off Jesus this morning and gave it to Kane. Have to wait to hear the pressers. Kane is probably the safer option as he should be nailed on for two games and his ownership is higher. Jesus more of a risk but potentially more reward.
#doyoufeellucky?
We know what kane can do on his day but i’m making my judgement on the eye test (which Kane failed on Monday) the fact that City’s fixtures are better and City have more goals in them than Spurs. Its a tough one though !
It sure is Brooky. Raises the stakes too if you’re playing the triple chip
It does mate.I just wish Kane had shown more on Monday night.Something just doesnt look quite right with him but we all know how he can bounce back and explode.
Breaking it down on the captain choices – this is my two cents
Kane will play two games (probably full 90 in both)…..West Brom are likely to go down swinging so there should be goals…..the second game at home to Newcastle should be comfortable for Spurs as Newcastle couldn’t raise a gallop at home to West Brom last week.
Jesus – great fixtures, gets a goal or an assist most games but without massive hauls……very short turnaround and there is a risk that he gets reduced gametime vs Kane…..also there is a huge spread of points across the City attackers
Sterling – same as above on fixtures and turnaround…risk here is the return of David Silva – he will definitely start one game as will Bernardo Silva so it could be Sterling who starts on the bench and he may come off the bench to replace Jesus!
In short I expect Jesus and Sterling to get gametime and points – but I don’t expect either to play more than 1.5 games……the only way I see Kane not playing 2 games is if he is taken off to a standing ovation because he has the match ball….and even then he will be closing in on Salah so they’ll probably leave him on…..
Daboyo, good break down! I think you may have sold me on Kane!
Think i would still back Sterling over 1.5 games at the moment…
now I have doubts with sterling!! might just go with Kane!
Kane I think NZ.
Think I’m going Kane
Morning everyone. I seem pretty clueless this week. Think I’ll keep Salah so here are the options.i have one free transfers and 1.2 in the bank
1) Rashford and Erikson in for Vardy and Willian
2) Rambo in for Willian
3) Rambo in for Lingard
4) Rambo and Arnie in for Willian and Lingard
5) King and Sane in for Kenedy and Willian
6) King, Silva and Chambers in for Kenedy, Willian and Morgan (-8)
7) Chambers, KDB and Rashford in for Vardy, Christenson and Willian
8) Chambers and Sane in for Christenson and Willian
9) Anything else. Could easily have Son as an option
Rambo and Son in mate.
Christensen to Naughton/Chambers Willian to Silva/Sane ? I’m just not sure that Rambo can play 3 games in 7 days plus how motivated are Arsenal going to be ?
Smash I like option 1!
Lingard and Willian out.
Possibly Rambo and Arnie
Hasn’t Christensen lost his place? I have him and I would sell him with my FT if I had one. Him to a City defender and Willian to Arnie is what I’d suggest here Smash.
nice team FF247!
This is currently mine, do I play Zaha over Kenedy or do I move on Zaha to either Rambo or Arnie?
Of those four players I think Zaha is the most reliable.
Depends whether you can get over the fact he only plays one game. He did only need one game to score 14 points (TWICE).
And has a tasting fixture in 38. Keep the man.
Presser times today….
When’s Gerrard’s Brooky? 😉
You like that appointment GP ? Tough job closing that gap on Celtic !
I do like the appointment.
Tough but not insurmountable. Someone will do it. It’s only a matter of when.
Hope so mate. That league is so one sided at the moment its ridiculous.Needs Rangers to be strong again to make it interesting.
The English PL is more one sided. Man City won it by more points than Celtic did. No one will argue the EPL needs a stronger united 😛
