FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW38

Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW38. Our GW37 was slightly better than average, but only slightly as we scored 52pts vs an average of 48. However we consolidated our position in the top 10k with a small green arrow to our new rank of 6,152, which is a season best. Top 5k is our aim then, our previous best being 5,921.

Like many last week our highest scorers were in defence with TAA & Doherty posting double digit returns. Goals from Salah & Zaha were gratefully received and saved us from a shocker of a week. Our captain (Aguero) did bugger all. But he was in good c(K)ompany…

With the final week upon us and just the one free transfer in hand and £0.2m in the bank, let’s see what magic the committee has conjured up as we seek to finish on a high note.

Our Transfer decision for GW38
We found ourselves ‘chock-full’ of Wolves assets this week and so one of those was always inevitably going to be a prime target for the chopping block. Given as our other four midfielders look hot to trot then Jota got a last minute reprieve and can adorn our bench for the final game, hopefully looking on in awe at the rest. His team-mate Jimenez wasn’t so lucky as there are a myriad of forward options this week in his price bracket, and every single one has a better fixture; although that’s not exactly difficult.

And we considered them all! Predominantly though Wilson and Arnie came to the fore. A lack of trust in West Ham and a general sense that the Palace v Bournemouth game could be one of those GW38 free for all’s lead us to Wilson once more.

To confirm then; we have SOLD JIMENEZ & BOUGHT WILSON

Our Captain for GW38 is Sergio Aguero
Kun took 100% of the votes here. Weaker opposition with zero to play for rather than Salah and co. vs Wolves who do like an upset and still have scores to settle would probably have to be the explanation for this.

For what it’s worth Zaha, Mane and Salah all got equal vice captain votes. Salah only won that by virtue of writer’s privilege!

We aren’t the most daring bunch, some could call it boringly consistent but we are what we are, and make no apologies for it.   1. All, I’ve just only realised that Hasenhüttl said Yoshida is very unlikely to play…only managing 10 minutes on the bike atm…

    That would mean playing Doherty against City.

    In light of this would it be best to do :

    1) Doherty and Son to Laporte and Fraser. Then playing Laporte alongside Valery and TAA.

    Or

    2) play Doherty. Bring in Fraser and Vardy for Son and Jiménez.

    Could also play Hojb instead of Jota to minimise Wolves.

    Sorry to ask a similar question again but only just realised Yosh is out!

    • Doherty don’t play City, its Liverpool. :p

      • Yeah had a shocker haven’t I… realised I wrote that once I’d posted it. Still… a daunting opponent!

    • I’d do the former as I would prefer either Jota or Jimenez instead of Doherty against Pool, they might get attacking returns but Doherty might go sub-zero smile Although I would also contemplate taking a hit to do three moves, the first two suggested moves coupled with Jota to Fraser perhaps for -4….

      • Sorry perhaps Redmond as the third move, although I don’t know how much money you’d actually have for him (for the hit move, but without the hit is fine of course, up to you smile )

        • Chasing in my ML (5 points behind!) so keen to avoid a -4 if possible I think

        • Yeah if you feel like that then don’t take the hit, although I don’t think the situation in your ML has anything to do with it, if you think a hit will get you more points then take it, otherwise don’t! You might equally end up in a situation in which you’re saying “If I took the hit I would have won my ML” smile

          But by no means I’m saying take a hit, it’s risky of course, as is not taking the hit as well, anything can happen smile

    • Go Fraser/Vardy, take a chance on Doherty or Duffy, Duffy for me personally.

    • I prefer Vardy and Fraser and take a chance on an attacking return from Doherty

      • So we reckon Doherty and Vardy > Laporte and Jiménez ?

        • I gotta admit I bought both Vardy and Fraser for this week so guess that’s the move to make here for you as well smile

      • That’s Vardy/Doherty VS Jimenez or Jota/Laporte, think I’d prefer the latter any day, I think the Wolves will pretty much get nothing so it’s basically Vardy VS Laporte… Coin toss in all essence smile

        • My ML leader has Ederson but no Vardy.

          So Laporte would match him for city defence cover whereas Vardy would be a differential

        • Are you chasing or leading? Could make the decision based on that as well, if chasing go for Vardy, if leading Laporte….

        • “My ML leader”…. Yeah, I’m having a shocker as well, so even that would say get Vardy, I’ll say get Vardy now, you need him as a differential 😀

    Cant decide what to do this week. Got 0 Itb and 1ft

    Currently trying to choose between

    1 jiminez to Arnie
    2 jota to Redmond
    3 jiminez to long, kota to Fraser-4
    4 Jota to Redmond, jiminez to Wilson-4

    Dont really fancy a hit unless it’s really worth it as I’ve got a must win h2h

    Thoughts anyone?

  4. Hi guys I was in here earlier had some good advice but I still can’t make my mind up. Joint 1st going into this games week I have 2ft 0.3itb rival has 1ft 0.3itb.

    I’ll post both teams I have Salah team. Any suggestions appreciated thanks and good luck to everyone.

    • Also don’t know who to cap. Was thinking Salah as he don’t have him. Any suggestions. Sure he will go sterling I think

      • Well I’m bringing in Fraser and Vardy for Jimenez and Son and I’ll be captaining Salah

        • Ok smash. Cookie suggested earlier Doherty to kompany jiminez to Zaha/Wilson. Not a bad shout. Just thinking I could do son to bsilva and bench jiminez and transfer out Doherty for kompany. But I guess attacking options would be better

        • I’m also doing the same as Smash. Albeit based on his recommendation 😉

        • Ok thanks smash. Don’t know why but feeling city will score for fun and bsilva is sticking in my head but if I did all 3 that’s a -4 and is not advised seeing as we’re both tied on points and don’t want to give him advantage

    • No lindelof in squad Sergio

      • The squad source is not an official source – seems to be players spotted entering a hotel. Some may have used another entrance.

        Talk in the article is more of attacking players than defenders (as far as my skim told me).

      • Just read the Metro article. I think he’ll still play to be honest, he just wasn’t on the bus with the squad and will join them later. Will definitely keep an eye on him though, thanks for the tip!

    • Evening Sergio -it’s been a while.

      Personally I’d look more closely at Southampton attacking players – and maybe their goalie, too.

      Vardy instead of Jiminez – you could punt on Greenwood for Rashford?

      • I’ve been off the radar for a while. Nice to see many of the people from the old site active here!

        I have nothing left in the bank with that team. Should I do Ings for Jimenez maybe?

          Mitrovic is a thought as well.

          Surprised you’re not thinking about your old chum Deeney.

      • Even better – Long is only 4.7m. I can do Lindelof to any other United defender or should I be looking at others with 6.6m for a defender?

        • I think you’re ok to leave as is as you have Bednarek to step in if necessary. You could swap Beds for Bertrand I suppose.

      I would change Lloris, Lindeloff and Jiminez from that lot – look for Southampton options to play as they could have a party vs Hud.

      • I’m thinking of doing Jimenez > Long and Lindelof > Young. Keeping Lloris because the guy chasing me has him.
