FF247 Fantasy Football Team Gameweek 6

Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Team Gameweek 6. We got 3 clean sheets this week. That is, unfortunately, just about the top and bottom of our highlights this week. Yeah ok, Lukaku brought us some points but it’s difficult to celebrate that when he brought almost everybody else the same points too. Likewise with Groß and his assist. We made 2 transfers last week and neither were a success with both Alli and Choupo-Moting coming in and both doing screw all for us. Alli got us a clean sheet bonus point and that was the highlight of our transfers, which says it all really. We scored 53 points. We began in a semi respectable 173k. We ended up in a semi disgraceful 463k! Onwards and upwards and all that then, here’s what we have decided to do this week in an attempt to arrest the slump…

Here’s our team as it looked after last week…

Transfer for GW6 – we have sold Lukaku and bought Aguero
The curse of Kun has struck again. His hatty at Watford last weekend spooked what seems like the majority of FPL managers to suddenly decide the Argentinan is after all quite good and certainly good enough for their FPL teams. Poor old Romelu, what more does he have to do? He has scored in each game bar one for a United team which has matched City’s goal returns. To talk you through our complete rationale would mean us taking you into a dark, murky world of deceit, deception and derision. Instead, please accept the short version…

– Well, first of all the proposal was to keep Lukaku and sell Alonso and Firmino for a bum and Kun – the idea was proposed as such: “Buried Alonso at the back of the garden and low and behold Aguero sprouted up!” This suggestion came from Anti-Alonso in the middle of the night when he knew his audience…. or so he thought.

– Unfortunately for him the suspect charged with originally suggesting we acquired Alonso was awake and chatty and immediately argued against said move. Alonso Lover was then dumped into a wardrobe while appearing to shout, “Willian to Ramsey”.

Anti-Alonso got back to work looking for someone to agree to disposing of Alonso.

– Instead, Dopey arrived from his self-induced coma with his ever informed awareness with the line, “have we got 2 free transfers?”. Quickly rebuffed Dopey returned to… well being dopey and wouldn’t be seen, or heard from again, until the morning.

– There was a muffled cry from the wardrobe… “William to Ramsey?”. Which ended with a thud.

– Having failed to win favour, Anti-Alonso sulked off to sort his MLS side.

– Roughly 2 minutes later and confident that Dopey was asleep and Alonso Lover had been silenced, Anti-Alonso tried again, hoping someone, anyone, had awoken and would be bored into submission with the excuse that “we should do this Kun thing, otherwise the article is boring”. Not wrong there. But still no takers.

– The night continued peacefully, no-one else surfaced but Anti Alonso still grumbled, with something not vaguely printable and implanted more pins in the Alonso doll hanging from the wall.

– The committee slowly reconvened in the morning but quickly descended into insults such as ‘fraud’, ‘sheep’, ‘d*ckhead’, ‘Kun*’ etc. Alonso Lover was released from the wardrobe looking slightly dishevelled. And a little abused. He didn’t mention Ramsey again. The ‘discussion’ continued fairly sensibly without really progressing before wardrobe boy suggested playing the Free Hit chip, loading up on City and Arsenal assets. Dopey, presumably in sympathy, voted with him. Anti-Alonso and Mr Sensible (now awake and new to the story!) quickly voted against before the Mule (likewise) turned up and laughed at the suggestion while forcing wardrobe boy back into his hole where he remains to this day.

It was finally decided by all present that we all wanted Kun but it was a toss up as to whether to sell Kane or Lukaku, or simply decimate the team by losing Alonso and Firmino. It was decided not to decimate, we’d only regret that in the morning and all agreed that Lukaku must go. Strange old world, if only someone had suggested that at the start.

It may still be an odd decision and we may reverse it next week or indeed play a Wildcard to negate the lot. Who knows. The only wonder really is how we’ve got this far and to have still previously posted some decent ranks, especially with the circus as illustrated above…

The team in full
And so this is how we line up ahead of GW6…

Our captain is Aguero
Now after the painful and somewhat exhausting committe meeting to decide to buy Kun, one would assume that skippering the Argentinian would be a formality. No sir. Our friend Dopey reappeared with the suggestion we should captain the misfiring Harry Kane, who plays at West Ham where Spurs never win. To the wardrobe he was sent. Fortunately the rest of the committee voted for the in form Aguero, who plays at home to Woy’s Palace a week after slamming a hatty at Watford.

Ok I think I’m all. Just as a note I am playing naughton this week as double Swansea however will be playing cedric from next week on and rotating defenders. I have no Liverpool coverage for now but can live with that for now. Ps good luck to you all.

Kept my FT last week and brought in Jones for Stephens long term. 1 FT left do I try and get Kun in here? I know I have Jesus (City cover) but he played full 90 mins during the week while Kun was rested. Eeek! Anyone else in the same situation?

Whats the chances of Mkhitaryan and Otamendi both going up tonight and Alli and Hegazi dropping?

    Afternoon all

    Is this good to go?

Can’t decide if I should drop Brady to the bench and go 4 at the back with mbemba.

    Thoughts?

    Cheers

Mulling over a plan…has anyone used the free hit chip? I was thinking of using it to temporarily load up on City and Chelsea coverage ahead of games against Palace and a Stoke with 1 eligible centre back. Thoughts?

My current team is below, and the transfers I’d make would be:

Lukaku > Aguero //// Firmino > Morata //// Eriksen > D.Silva //// Ramsey > Fabregas Any opinions on that lot?

Free hit chip for 4 players seems like a waste to me but I can’t say I fully understand the merit of the chip currently.

If I was using it however, would deffo bring Aguero, De Bruyne, Mendy/Walker, Bellerin, Sanchez, Baines, Siggy, Rooney, Pope, Mee as my probable starting 11 if possible.

Just off the top of my head, City Arsenal and Everton fixtures are the ones to chase. But regular players could score well no matter who they’re playing so always a risk dropping Eriksen, Lukaku, Alonso, Davies etc

It was mentioned briefly as a possibility for the site team this week. I think you’ll find better use for it come the DGW’s and BGW’s.

Thanks both. I guess I’m worry it’s one of those where the temptation to save it may mean you don’t end up getting good use… This week I’d like Chelsea and City attack/defence, and yes Bean I agree that a punt on Arsenal and Everton wouldn’t hurt. I suppose it allows you to indulge in all the excitement of a WC but with none of the longterm damage!

Here’s what I get when I squeeze in a few more players with nice fixtures this week. 1.0m unspent but no way I can see to reach Alexis or Hazard… Unless I swap Vardy for Joselu (bench him) and Fab > Hazard (who might not play a full game / start). Or, Vardy > Qauner (injured 4.5m), Fab > Alexis and play King. But that seems daft.
