FF247 FPL Pre-Season Hub 2023-24
Welcome to FF247 FPL Pre-Season Hub 2023-24
Now that we are at the end of June (I know, right?), we will have to turn our attention to what our Premier League clubs have up their sleeves in terms of pre-season preparations for the forthcoming 2023-24 Premier League season.
Most clubs return for initial health checks with training following around the 5th – 8th of July mark with additional time off given for those playing late into the final international break and even longer for those at the UEFA Under-21 tournament.
Pre-season friendlies themselves, begin around the 10th – 12th July.
We have listed below a run-down of the fixtures arranged at the time of publication which will be updated with additional fixtures when announced.
As in previous seasons, each team will have a comment attached to this article where match information will be posted to act as a living record of how their pre-season is progressing. This will contain score, scoring, assist and team line-up information and indeed, any other salient information deemed FPL-appropriate to assist us ahead of the new season.
Any questions or comments welcome.

ARSENAL
Anybody got any thoughts on the Arsenal backline? I’m eyeing up Kiwior for a good price/minutes ratio!
I’d be going for any of the four mainstays from last season. I think Gabriel is probably the most nailed on defender as he has the least direct competition and stays fit. There’s a higher likelihood of Pep-style roulette, so I’d say you could be more confident after seeing how we get on in our pre-season lineups. TImber/Kiwior are definitely supporting defenders to White/Zinchenko/Gabriel, but it’s hard to tell whether they’ll see minutes in other competitions or if there’ll be much regular change to the EPL backline – which is generally seen negatively for team structure.
Thanks for this Burnsy…

BURNLEY
Winning start for the Clarets in pre-season opener
Burnley won their first pre-season game 3-2 against League One opposition Fleetwood Town earlier today.
Vincent Kompany used a different starting XI for each half against The Cods.
Jay Rodriguez scored the first after 12 minutes in the first half at Gawthorpe.
Jez Davies and Michael Mellon grabbed a goal apiece in the second 45.
Manager Vincent Kompany was happy with the run out: “We love being here together – we love being at the training ground and we keep working.
“We’ve got a good game in our legs now and we got exactly what we wanted to out of the match.” are being very secretive about their approach back to the EPL, Doing a lot of stuff behind closed doors…found this on their website..
K.R.C Genk v Burnley: Saturday 22nd July (6:30pm) The only other fixture i can find, to be played in Belguim
I could be wrong on this but I believe Burnley had another preseason game against Burton Albion in which they won 1-0. Scorer of that goal was Basilio Rieno whos is an attacking midfielder for the U21s. Not in the game so might not have to worry about him for the main side.
