Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW13
You may remember the rather tempestuous committee meeting pre GW12 where several transfer ideas were put forward and rejected, some democratically and some Trump-like (cries of ‘STOP THE COUNT’ echoed around FF247 HQ). With the meeting in disarray the decision was made to hold the transfer. And as it turns out it was the correct move as we scored 62pts, above the average of 51 and a well needed green arrow. None of our transfer options would have seen us score any higher.

Our score was indebted to our strikers and defence. Put simply our midfield of KdB, Mahres, JWP and Jota didn’t turn up, Jota literally, so Bissouma came in and fitted in nicely with a 2 pointer.

Captain Kane delivered once again and DCL was unlucky to just produce the solitary assist while clean sheets from McCarthy and Targett were gratefully received but the pièce de résistance was delivered by Vardy in the final act of the game-week as he brought home the bacon with a goal and two assists resulting in a 13pt haul.

Our green arrow has taken us to 1,627,496 place, our best rank since GW5.

With two free transfers in hand and the turnaround between game-weeks immediate, let’s see how acrimonious the committee meeting was this time.

Our GW13 Result…

Let’s go see what was decided…

Our GW13 Transfer is to sell Jota and buy Grealish

Well what an anti-climax that was. No arguments, no tea-cup throwing, no intervention from DCL’s Sugar Daddy, the committee were in full agreement that Jota has to go (obviously) with Grealish coming in. With matches vs Burnley, West Brom and Palace coming up the opportunity is there for Grealish to build on his impressive season so far which has seen him score five goals and create six assists, scoring 73 points in 10 game-weeks. With a likely DGW on the horizon we’re excited to own Villa’s finest.

We chose to hold the other transfer anticipating news of double game-weeks to be revealed very soon and two free transfers will maximise planning for that.

To confirm then we have SOLD DIOGO JOTA and BOUGHT JACK GREALISH

Captain – Kevin De Bruyne

Our captain decision was also unanimous with KdB given the armband at home to West Brom. Kane is the vice-captain, should Pep decide De Bruyne needs to rest.

  1. Hey guys, would anyone take Balbuena over Coufal to save 0.2m?
Sounds a bit crazy but it enables me to go Chilwell and Lamptey to James and Dias in future. But maybe that’s looking too far ahead? If prices move it’ll be ruled out anyway…

    • Such small margins in a very dynamic environment.

    • If it helps your plans, beno, go for it. No guarantee the future plan will come off but it’s better to have a plan than none at all smile .

  2. Hey guys, 2ft & 0itb. Thinking of DCL & Jota to Bamford & Grealish. Also tempted to take a -4 for either:

    A) Walcott to Grob
    Or
    B) Kilman to Konsa

Thoughts please? Any other replacements for Grob, will have 5.9 to spend.

    Thanks

    • I’d leave DCL – he’s returning decent points most weeks (a goal and/or assist in 10/12 games so far).

Would Jota and Walcott -> Soucek and Grealish work?

      • Unfortunately 0.2m short

  3. Not having much luck this season!

Thinking Salah and Jota to KdB and Grealish here.

But no doubt if I do that KdB and Mahrez will both be benched!

    Any other ideas welcomed.

  4. Congrats to the site team on the decent score, let’s hope it continues!

    What would you do here?

(also, please don’t ask me how Pulisic ended up in there because I simply haven’t a clue!)

    • how the fuck did Pulisic end up there?

I’d be tempted to roll the transfer. Who will you be captaining – Pulisic Salah?

      • Thanks for not bringing up that one player, who shan’t be named, very thoughtful of you 😉

Grealish (C) seems like a sufficiently idiotic idea, might do that.

        • OK well why not, go for it. Would be thrilling if it comes off.

        • Well. I was about to ask you for a pre-xmas present and see if you could deliver a Pulisic haul. But, seeing as you’re probably off on some 70’s style killing spree I’m thinking you’re too busy to help a fellow out.

Happy hunting though (just so long as you don’t come around here with your recent hobbies)

        • The other thing you could consider is chopping Kane to someone like Watkins – or maybe Ings – and upgrading Pulisic to Fernandes.

But it may be that the best move is no move and be more creative with 2FT next time.

        • That’s enough chopping from you tonight Kralin! :butcher::sarcastic_hand:

Although, not a bad idea to be fair smile

    • Pulisic to Mahrez/JWP/Greenwood(if you are looking for a punt). I won’t even mention Zaha cause we share the same opinion there :laugh2:

      • Zaha… *the root of the terrible punt spree*

…The man is dead to me!

  5. Trying to steady the ship, have 1 FT and 1.6 ITB would you bank it or move one of these non playing Defenders out for City/Chelsea cover like Dias or James? I’d really like to have KdB but Peptation worries me.

    • I’d roll that, no question, especially with the next GW upon us almost the moment this one ends.

Loads of scope with 2FT and that money in the bank.

    • I also want De Bruyne for tomorrow pep roulette worries me

    • I’d be tempted to do Kilman to Dias for the congested Xmas schedule. Although, you can easily roll here.

    • Defence looks a tad slim, but other than that very decent. Wait and see if you get news on Lamp-T and Kilman, else perhaps upgrade Kilman.
Holding is fine if you think either will start.

  6. Captain choice this week.
I think there is nobody better than Bruno. Astonishing away record, apart from WHU when he only got an assist, just a glitch
Don’t go down that road and think that the bandwagon KDB will do miracles. You have been freshly wounded by doing this with Salah vs Fulham

    • Salah did deliver 16 points against Fulham to be honest, De Bruyne or Bruno Fernandes would you go with?

      • Kane ended up with 18, just saying.
        Definitely Bruno.
With a heavy Christmas schedule and an easy game ahead with a trickier one to follow, I wouldn’t be surprised even if he gets a rest.

    • You’re starting to sound like one of those mentals that stand on city high streets preaching religious nonsense!! People just ignore them and call them crazy folk mostly :big-lol:

      • Rosco, I was right about Salah’s mania.
        Watch that space 😉

        • Well, you know what they say about broken clocks  as long as you’re happy that’s the main thing, would you like me to bait your next hook for you!? :hippo:

        • Spot on :laugh2:

    • Went with KDB initially, but currently on Bruno. Sheff Utd were dreadful on the weekend, Bruno has ridiculous away stats and there are suggestions KDB gets reduced minutes.

Could still change my mind before the deadline though.

      • Sheffield were utter tosh – agreed!

Ramsdale must be wondering what he did in a previous life to deserve his misery. Bournemouth last season, Sheffield this. Arsenal next season :mosking: ?

    • Both great options and both could do really well. I wouldn’t exclude either tbh.

    • I’m going Bruno, I think (no Salah, but I have KDB and Kane in the ‘big hitter’ category).
