Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW13
You may remember the rather tempestuous committee meeting pre GW12 where several transfer ideas were put forward and rejected, some democratically and some Trump-like (cries of ‘STOP THE COUNT’ echoed around FF247 HQ). With the meeting in disarray the decision was made to hold the transfer. And as it turns out it was the correct move as we scored 62pts, above the average of 51 and a well needed green arrow. None of our transfer options would have seen us score any higher.

Our score was indebted to our strikers and defence. Put simply our midfield of KdB, Mahres, JWP and Jota didn’t turn up, Jota literally, so Bissouma came in and fitted in nicely with a 2 pointer.

Captain Kane delivered once again and DCL was unlucky to just produce the solitary assist while clean sheets from McCarthy and Targett were gratefully received but the pièce de résistance was delivered by Vardy in the final act of the game-week as he brought home the bacon with a goal and two assists resulting in a 13pt haul.

Our green arrow has taken us to 1,627,496 place, our best rank since GW5.

With two free transfers in hand and the turnaround between game-weeks immediate, let’s see how acrimonious the committee meeting was this time.

Our GW13 Transfer is to sell Jota and buy Grealish

Well what an anti-climax that was. No arguments, no tea-cup throwing, no intervention from DCL’s Sugar Daddy, the committee were in full agreement that Jota has to go (obviously) with Grealish coming in. With matches vs Burnley, West Brom and Palace coming up the opportunity is there for Grealish to build on his impressive season so far which has seen him score five goals and create six assists, scoring 73 points in 10 game-weeks. With a likely DGW on the horizon we’re excited to own Villa’s finest.

We chose to hold the other transfer anticipating news of double game-weeks to be revealed very soon and two free transfers will maximise planning for that.

To confirm then we have SOLD DIOGO JOTA and BOUGHT JACK GREALISH

Captain – Kevin De Bruyne

Our captain decision was also unanimous with KdB given the armband at home to West Brom. Kane is the vice-captain, should Pep decide De Bruyne needs to rest.

  1. Hope someone capped vardy since I shipped him out laugh

    Have used my ft for jota to Bowen. Have 0.4 itb. Is a hit worth it as all my bench are now not starters, some getting no time at all. Is barnes to Maddison worth a -4?

      I’d probably avoid the hit this week and then look to fix things next week!

      • Cheers Rosco, yes midweek games can be a mine field.

    • I’ve still got Barnes in my team. I’m hoping his 30 mins at the weekend means he starts the next game (as he hasn’t got any Europa League matches for a while).

    • I also transferred out Vardy. I wouldn’t go for Maddison, needs to show a more consistent run of form. Also he seems to be carrying a minor knee injury, Rodgers said: “He has such quality. What makes it even better is he hardly trained at all this week. He had an issue with his knee, so we took him out of our midweek game.”

      • Good call, he might have a price rise is my only issue

    • I have Vardy but captained Son in the last minute. Classic :laugh2:

      Grealish probably your safest bet, unless you plan to get in KDB or Bruno!?

    • You could end up with 10 men if Lamptey is out, I’d probably get some cover with your FT :good:

      • who will you get? i fancy James but knowing azpilicueta will rotate with him, or play safe and boring c Taylor?

    • I think just upgrade Mitchell. Cheap option: Villa defence (vs BUR) next and decent few fixtures ahead. Or go pricey and get Dias for WBA.

      • got 3 villa already, omg I don’t know how I end up three villas in my team. john stones not better? and leave money to upgrade others?

        • Dias has played pretty much every game. Stones probably cheaper though.

  4. Worth a hit to bring in KDB or Sterling? Or just stick with Mahrez?

    • I’d do it. Idk if it’s gonna pay off this week but it will definitely be beneficial in the long run. If you don’t have other plans for the spare dosh, of course.

      • Cheers, I’d have 0.7 left over to sort my bench out next week as well.

        • I’d go for it in this case. Mahrez is very explosive and capable of a big haul but you have to be really patient, and we all know that’s a tough quality to have when it comes to fpl. Also, he will probably be rotated more than KDB.
          0.7 should be enough to get some decent defensive cover.

    2 FT & 0.3M ITB.

    Initially, I wanted Salah in my team for GW14 but can’t see a way to bring him in without decimating my team.

    Any ideas here? smile

    • I think you can live without him this week. Jose has a long history of parking buses at Anfield! Maybe just sort Jota with your freebie?

      • Yeah, that’s what I meant (Salah for Palace, or at least for WBA). That’s why I need to plan ahead…somehow :laugh2:
        Any ideas how to get there? Or if not, Jota to whom?

    • Jota to Grealish and bench Podence. I’m not sure how you can get Salah in either, tough one.

      • Not enough funds for this move, otherwise I’d have.

    • Can’t see anyway to get Salah in without loosing one of Fernandez, KDB or Son.

        I read (in the previous pages) that Maddison is carrying a bit of a knee issue. I am not convinced about his fitness and consistency yet but he is definitely one to watch.

        • No shame in letting a transfer burn, Don’t weaken your team just to use a transfer, Looks good to go, There is not even a decent playing 4.0 to replace Mitchell
