Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW13
You may remember the rather tempestuous committee meeting pre GW12 where several transfer ideas were put forward and rejected, some democratically and some Trump-like (cries of ‘STOP THE COUNT’ echoed around FF247 HQ). With the meeting in disarray the decision was made to hold the transfer. And as it turns out it was the correct move as we scored 62pts, above the average of 51 and a well needed green arrow. None of our transfer options would have seen us score any higher.
Our score was indebted to our strikers and defence. Put simply our midfield of KdB, Mahres, JWP and Jota didn’t turn up, Jota literally, so Bissouma came in and fitted in nicely with a 2 pointer.
Captain Kane delivered once again and DCL was unlucky to just produce the solitary assist while clean sheets from McCarthy and Targett were gratefully received but the pièce de résistance was delivered by Vardy in the final act of the game-week as he brought home the bacon with a goal and two assists resulting in a 13pt haul.
Our green arrow has taken us to 1,627,496 place, our best rank since GW5.
With two free transfers in hand and the turnaround between game-weeks immediate, let’s see how acrimonious the committee meeting was this time.

Our GW13 Transfer is to sell Jota and buy Grealish
Well what an anti-climax that was. No arguments, no tea-cup throwing, no intervention from DCL’s Sugar Daddy, the committee were in full agreement that Jota has to go (obviously) with Grealish coming in. With matches vs Burnley, West Brom and Palace coming up the opportunity is there for Grealish to build on his impressive season so far which has seen him score five goals and create six assists, scoring 73 points in 10 game-weeks. With a likely DGW on the horizon we’re excited to own Villa’s finest.
We chose to hold the other transfer anticipating news of double game-weeks to be revealed very soon and two free transfers will maximise planning for that.
To confirm then we have SOLD DIOGO JOTA and BOUGHT JACK GREALISH
Captain – Kevin De Bruyne
Our captain decision was also unanimous with KdB given the armband at home to West Brom. Kane is the vice-captain, should Pep decide De Bruyne needs to rest.

Son can score against anyone, and Liverpool’s defence has been as solid as in previous years, understandably. You’ve got KDB, which is the most secure Man City cover you could get (given the vagaries of Peptation). Mahrez – on his day is absolute genius and can grab goals and assists out of nowhere.
Who should i bench? Justin or coufal?
Justin looked good against Brighton – think he merits his starting place on form (eye-test). Think Crystal Palace will score against West Ham.

On the GK situation I have the same as you McCarthy and Martinez, you thinking double Southampton defence?
Eggs in one basket…Lamptey has a good fixture, but flagged 75%. I might be tempted to start him and if he doesn’t appear then KWP takes over. Thinking to start with McCarthy in goal, but worried that Arsenal might actually remember where the goal is (ie, the opposition team’s one) and suddenly click. Any sign of that, anyone?

Your midfield is a powerhouse. I had to look twice because I thought you had Kane too and wondered how you managed to afford him as well. After blinking, I saw it was Bamford. Not sure I’d try and double-guess Pep with the City defence. You can change, but end up wishing you’d stuck with your original. Seems like an unnecessary transfer. But I don’t have a watching eye on City so don’t know how well either of those is playing.
Thanks mate, I wish I have Kane in my team with that midfield. Dias has been playing each game for City and Cancelo may get replaced with Mendy with Pep’s roulette like last time. I’ll probably make the change at the last minute if I want to.
