Lattes all round
Look up the word mediocre in a picture dictionary and you’ll find one of our team from GW13… at least there was none of the mayhem of recent game-weeks and we actually captained whom we said we would captain.
You know things haven’t gone well when your defence is the star of the show! Up top, our forwards combined for a grand total of 9pts. Our midfield trio weighed in with a staggering 13pts, which included our captain KdB and new signing Jack Grealish. At the back, Coufal picked up a clean sheet and two baps, Targett a clean sheet, Chilwell an assist and a bap. Dann (who came off the bench for Mahrez) and McCarthy should just go play in midfield or up top.
All this saw us score a whopping 46pts, four above the average which allowed us to register back to back clean sheets for the first time since GW5, and we now sit in 1,627,496th place.
That’s enough about GW13. It’s time to get serious, we have two free transfers burning a hole in someone’s pocket and we now have BGW18 and DGW19 to build towards. With that in mind, it’s over to the committee…

It all started off in quite a sedate manner…
Kop opened the meeting by asking if anyone had any thoughts on transfers. Init responded with an extremely sensible suggestion of replacing with Kilman with a Leicester defender with DGW19 in mind. The next thing you know, Cookie barrels into the office and suggests selling Vardy & Mahrez for Salah & Bamford. I think he’d been on the mulled wine! Cookie’s Colombian partner in crime then weighs in with support and starts waffling on about tea & latte. Unsurprisingly, Floydeth is also in favour of these moves. Cookie only needed one more vote to make this happen… surely it couldn’t?
The next thing you know, Init, GP & Kop are on board. It’s really happening. Cookie & Mito have finally gotten one over the line. As GP said, “This season is batshit nuts”.
Just a word on the blank and double GW’s in 18 & 19, given as we touched on them above. Having ran through a number of scenarios the consensus at the moment seems to be that we will play our Free Hit Chip in 18 and possibly our Bench Boost Chip in 19. This means building a squad between now and then to do so. Which rather flies in the face of our eventual transfer decision this week! But we can’t just put everything into 19 as we also need to score points in 14. And 15. And 16. And…. you get the point.
To confirm then we have SOLD Riyadh Mahrez & Jamie Vardy and BOUGHT Mo Salah & Patrick Bamford
Captain – Harry Kane
Unlike last week, our captain decision was not a unanimous decision. Kane took the vote by 3 to 2 over Salah. It goes without saying that our vice-captain will be Salah.

Just thinking about GW19 already. Any thoughts on building something like this for bench boost?

Looks good. I’m doing similar in eyeing up 13 DGWers + Son Kane. Lookman at 5mils an enabler but horrendous fixtures. Hard to think who else at the price point given you have Soucek…. would you get more points out of Cresswell James Anguissa for Zouma Taylor Lookman? Just an idea
Is it worth debating who to captain between Kane or Son or it’s just impossible to decide?
Few things I noticed, against teams which don’t defend deep Son has outscored Kane in all of them.

I would not expect Leicester to defend deep against Spurs but again Kane’s record against Leicester is difficult to ignore.
With pens Kane is always the safer choice but in truth it could be either or both in any given match!
KP, yes Kane has 14 goals against them and I expect to add another couple in this one.
That said, I keep moving the armband from him to Bruno and back.
No idea how that is going to end up :wacko:
I make you very right KP. Spurs will be the ones inviting Leicester on and counter attacking them, which is one of Leicester’s main weaknesses, funnily enough. Although counter attacking is also their own main strength. Could be a funny old game this :rofl:

a) Out Vardy and Fernandes, In Salah and Calvert Lewin (-4 hit)
b) Out Vardy and Fernandes, In Salah and Ings (-4 hit)
c) Dont sell Fernandes, Out Vardy , In Calvert-Lewin or Ings
d) What do you mean sell Vardy. Do nothing, save the transfer.
I would be tempted to bank and use 2FT next week to get Salah.

I voted Salah on this. Although I must admit I’ll probably put it on Kane myself. Mainly because I’m in work tomorrow day and will miss the Liverpool game. I’m sure I used to be more ruthless than this but it’s been a funny old year!

He looked tired out in midweek from the few bits I saw. Don’t get me wrong it looked / sounded like he played well but my overall impression was tiredness. Leeds will be hard work. They don’t get tired. They’re not allowed to!
Don’t want to waste a ft, but stumped by what to do. Plan is to get dgw players for gw19, but only 0.1m in the bank. Will probably move Wilson on in the next gw when his fixtures turn. Also considering ditching double Chelsea defence but they have a double gw. Any suggestions?
Spurs have some nice fixtures coming up in GW16 and GW17, but don’t have a double game week. Just to make things more awkward. You will need cash to get a 2nd playing keeper and a replacement for Kilman. Thinking KDB to Son after GW15? It’s a big call which could go wrong, but would give you some cash to work with.
May be bank this week if nothing stands out.

or
2) planning to hold it for a later double?
Currently planning to bb gw19, but that may change.
I can’t face thinking about it right now. Will be interesting to see how people go about it. The free hit sort of appeals in that I can assemble something for 18, free hit 19 and then correct things after 19.
