Welcome to our mid-month FantasyFootball 247 Leagues round-up.
Most of us initially will have got into fantasy football through work or friends leagues. Nothing wrong with that, but to really challenge yourself, how about you test your mettle against other Fantasy Football 247 regulars?
Season and Monthly League winners will be awarded a place in our Hall Of Fame – more on that to follow!
The Overall Members League (full season)
With a solid 85 points, Barntons Bashers retain their top position in the main league after GW16. Holding a global ranking of 1,473 and with 1,078 points, they are having a great season, and we are glad to have them setting the bar in our league. Herewegoagain are close behind having moved up to second spot with 1,074 points, and only a further 2 points back, third spot is occupied by Shane-PAIN FC on 1,072 points. New entrant, Robin Van Pricey, are straight in at fourth spot with 1,068 pts, having delivered an impressive 97 points this game week – the highest score of this week’s top 10. James101 make up the top 5, with 1,062 points.
A mere 14 points behind are a 3 man chasing pack, containing second season wonder Michu’s Grassy Ass, and two very experienced managers, Powerful Potty Fc and Cookie’s Monsters, all on 1,048 points. Site regular, Milk and Busquets, follows 4 points off, on 1,044 points, with Norfulk-in-chance closing out our top ten on 1,039. Other notable movers this week include the perhaps misnamed duo, Not so SPECIAL ones and Real Morbid, who both managed to score 103 points, almost double the game-week average of 55 points, moving up to 24th and 31st spots respectively. And no, no Potty Prizes will be awarded for guessing who they captained!
The Monthly League
In top spot at the mid-month point is X Treme, on a very impressive 275 points for the month, including 91 for this game-week. The team’s overall ranking isn’t so high as yet, but with this kind of performance and a team value of £110m we feel that’s going to change fast. In second spot, on 268 points for the month are The Untouchables. Falling to third spot, but only 5 points behind, Killer instincts delivered 263 points in December to date. In fourth spot, on 261 points, are our season league leaders, Barntons Bashers, and Real Morbid rise to fifth on 254 points, lifted by their outstanding game-week.
The Greatest FC enter our rankings at 6, narrowly missing out on a ton, scoring 99 points (unlucky!). In 7th spot this month is James101, with Pimp my Side in eighth spot, at 247 points. Closing out our top ten are Inter ma’nan and Monkeys Nuts.
Many thanks to elleffcee for working out the monthly table – you may notice a slight difference in a couple of the rankings, this is because the monthly charts that are automatically generated do not take all hits into account – clearly these should be factored in to show who’s really performing best.

hey guys,
who do you think the better option aguero > rooney or negrado
I was planning to bring in silva for oviedo, currently i have:
oviedo, ramsey, hazard, cabaye, ravel
suarez, aguero, lukaka
1ft 7m
That’s way too much to have in the bank, do Aguero >> Rooney and Oviedo>>Silva
photek – You can afford it, go for Rooney and Silva or Wally. Not sure if Oviedo would be the one I’d transfer out, maybe I’d prefer to ditch Ravel due to Everton’s fixtures until Jan WC or Baynes return.
thanks guys, yeah Ravel could be a good idea as i only just brought in oviedo for evertons upcoming fixtures.
yeah a lot of money to play with as i had rvp and went to luka last gw.
Good morning guys, many transfers and hits last night?
At white hart lane, Liverpool have scored more open-play goals than Tottenham themselves!
£100 million well spent then
Posted this on last page, anyone got any thoughts.
Already used my FT to do Aguero -> Negredo
Just wondered if anyone, maybe Liverpool fans had an insight on Coutinho and his lack of points?
Is he playing in a different position to last year, or just getting unlucky?
Thinking of taking a 4pt hit and taking out Amalfitano which gives me 8.7 to spend and bring in Coutinho.
Worth it?
A lot of people will say no, and I was tempted to ship him after people saying he had an awful game against Spurs, yet after watching ‘Match of the day’ and looking at his data, it’s clear to see he has been unlucky.
6th in terms of chances created, behind Gerrard, Suarez, Henderson, Nasri, and Hazard. Third in shots taken, behind only Suarez, and Aguero. “He only shoots from afar” you hear people say? Only Suarez, Aguero, and Remy have had more shots from inside the penalty area. 50% of his shots are on target, in comparison to Remy who has had 33% of his.
Since I only brought him in last week and I play by a ‘you brought him in for a reason, give him at least 3 weeks’ rule he’ll be staying in my squad over Christmas.
Hope this helps you out a bit.
Agree he has been quite unfortunately these last games, he has been playing quite well. Don’t know if he’s worth the hit, I’m also considering a hit with Amalfi to Wally this week and I probably will go for it.
Would like to have your thoughts on another pool’s player, Henderson. I reckon he has been awesome lately and he’s also quite cheap, at 5.9 would he be worth a punt? At least while Gerrard is out as he plays a more advanced role than he was used to.
Sterling has seemed to of found abit of form and slightly cheaper…
Shadow, just a quick reply as im at work, just remember that gw 17 results determine if you enter the main FPL Cup, with west brom playing Hull at home IMO thats a needless 4 point hit. As a pool fan i rate Coutinho highly but im holding off on getting him until he gets some more game time.
Shadow, just to clarify, Coutinho has been back about 6 weeks but hes just not getting that gametime converted into Fantasy points but with Stevie G now out of the equation that may change.
You also have Raheem Sterling to consider in terms of liverpool now especially with Gerrard out.
Saying that I reluctantly took Coutinho out this last week for Silva which paid dividends. I will consider putting Coutinho back in later on.
Thanks for the thoughts, flingy stats do suggest he is being rather unlucky but being unlucky doesn’t get you any points.
I get your point Eddy about needless 4 pt hits but I’ve had Amal for weeks now and even when he has favorable home ties he’s got me nothing.
One to think about as I don’t think neither of them will be changing value.
Shadow, good luck in whatever you decide and best of luck in Cup Qualifying
You’re right, it doesn’t get you points. But how long can he be unlucky for with data suggesting he should be on a far greater amount of points than he is? Averages tend to, well, average out. This is how I’ve based my transfers all season, trying to be proactive as opposed to reactive.
Fling, I have owned Coutinho since he came back and have watched all his games. His lack of points is shocking when you watch the games. You feel like he could explode any moment, a bit like Nasri. They put themselves in great situations but just seem to be a bit unlucky. I am holding on Coutinho because a 15 pointer is coming, I least that is what I am seeing.
I can remember watching it and noting a few;
He hit the bar..
When Loris came out and messed up, Suarez had a shot on goal with 2 defenders between him and his shot, he fannied about for a while when Coutinho was a square ball away from a goal, and the chance was lost.
Before Henderson scored his volley, his first 1on1 attempt was a 1 touch control to through ball from a 50yard Sterling pass, by Coutinho.
From what I remember he was through on goal and lost his footing.
I hope we’re right Mito!
So we reckon it could be worth a 4pt hit?
My first of the season!!
