FF247 McDonald’s Fantasy Football World Cup Team
A 23 man squad? Rules that contradict themselves? A site we can’t trust to load up properly come transfer time? Players we have never heard of? Players valued at £1.0m? This all looks a bit odd… Must be World Cup time, bring it on, we love it!!!…. Welcome to our first ever World Cup ‘Rate My Team’ and to kick proceedings off FF247 has it’s very own fantasy team that is entering the competition!

Here is the FF247 team as it stands. FF247 welcomes suggestions and criticism aplenty but don’t be offended if you get it back! We jest, of course. Sort of. He has been known to bite though! FF247 himself will be around to discuss the team itself on this article thread and will take on board your thoughts and suggestions for changes ahead of the deadline on Thursday and there will be updates throughout the tournament as to the teams progress and hopefully thoughts on selection and strategies as it progresses.

This is by no means the final squad that FF247 will go into the competition with but rather an initial attempt at building a squad. A lot will depend on the feedback tomorrow and what is learnt from your own submissions and findings. The final squad will be published later in the week.
We also welcome your own Rate My Team posts on here as you begin to finalise those squads and starting line ups. Thoughts on formations, players or teams to watch, bargains, strategies or just whatever you want to post are welcome as always.
Total different to my plan, see you gone strong xl, where I don’t have Neymar messi,or ronaldo but have a strong 15/16 playing and 22 out of 23 that I think will start, best of luck ff247
Hi Bench, I have taken this approach too. Although have managed to fit Neymar in. Could I ask which keepers you have gone with as this is being a bit of a headache for me. If you are keeping your cards close to your chest then no worries of course.
Quallathon, I have Lloris, Cesar and the Greek keeper Kanezis.,It gives me 3 cracks at getting it right. May still drop one of the first 2 for cheaper starters and hope one of the 3 does the business. I think 3 cheapies will be the way to go
Mito, I am heading that way, I have at the moment Kanezis and Cillesson and the Algerian Keeper, cant remember his name, total 6mil. I think keepers like Lloris, Courtous etc are completely out my price range. Am aiming for 7 cheap players who i think are the starters for Iran, Algeria, Honduras etc and 16 Starters that I am confident with to bring me how the points.
Bench it certainly highlights the 2 strategies. I think I’ll be spending less on the forwards for my team also and filling out the midfield and the bench a bit more. Be interesting to see which is the better way to go about it.
Hello everyone and good luck for this massive challenge! Me and my mates are having a bet about the WC games, goal scorers, card kings and the final game referee. I need some help with the last three. Currently:
Top 3 goal scorers: Neymar, C. Ronaldo, Klose
Most bookings: N. De Jong
Referee for the final: Howard Webb
Klose to Suarez? Aguero? Messi? Balotelli? Cavani even?
I could be wrong but I don’t think Webb can referee the final since he did the 2010 one.
But again, I may be mistaken.
Don’t think Man Uniteds best ever player Howard Webb will get the final, he refereed the last one. :big-lol:

Looks a good team Milky, might be lacking a few goals but the spread is good. It’s so hard to tell which system is going to be the most productive, real hit and hope stuff.

A little. Lahm and Pogba don’t score many, i presume you’re playing 4 in midfield? Zabaleta looks the only real attacking threat from the defence too.
I thought Pogba had been proficient this season? Is there a better French choice? Lahm was there because of the potential recoveries he could garner – ask Cookie!

Who do you suggest NIN?
M&B – Lahm will be playing at full back i’d say, so less recoveries for him. I’d favor someone like Rakitic over Pogba/Lahm.
