McDonald's Fantasy Football

A 23 man squad? Rules that contradict themselves? A site we can’t trust to load up properly come transfer time? Players we have never heard of? Players valued at £1.0m? This all looks a bit odd… Must be World Cup time, bring it on, we love it!!!…. Welcome to our first ever World Cup ‘Rate My Team’ and to kick proceedings off FF247 has it’s very own fantasy team that is entering the competition!

The site address to enter is Mcdonalds Fantasy World Cup, you can register here. The official site league is called FF247 – simply enter this in the search bar on the league section and press JOIN!

Here is the FF247 team as it stands. FF247 welcomes suggestions and criticism aplenty but don’t be offended if you get it back! We jest, of course. Sort of. He has been known to bite though! FF247 himself will be around to discuss the team itself on this article thread and will take on board your thoughts and suggestions for changes ahead of the deadline on Thursday and there will be updates throughout the tournament as to the teams progress and hopefully thoughts on selection and strategies as it progresses.

And the subs…

This is by no means the final squad that FF247 will go into the competition with but rather an initial attempt at building a squad. A lot will depend on the feedback tomorrow and what is learnt from your own submissions and findings. The final squad will be published later in the week.

We also welcome your own Rate My Team posts on here as you begin to finalise those squads and starting line ups. Thoughts on formations, players or teams to watch, bargains, strategies or just whatever you want to post are welcome as always.

    should i sub lukaku for fred. as he gave only 4 points. should i take the risk?

      jubi you don’t have to do that yet. Who are your other strikers currently in your line-up? You are better waiting until they have played also and then you can see if one of those scores less than Fred. If they don’t then at least you have the full picture and you can make that decision then. But yes if it transpires that he is your lowest then I’d say do it, it’s not much of a risk given the Belgian fixture.

      • jubi says:

        well, i currently have messi – muller – fred in the squad. and as a sub i have lukaku. and i believe i do have a proper backup in the mid field. i’m not getting the rules, if lukaku make a score in the next match. can i do the sub after the match? or should i have to sub him before the match.
        again, if i sub fred for lukaku, today can i take fred again in the next match of brazil ?

        and, about fred, in the last match it’s been confirem that brazil isn’t looking for fred to make a goal, they are pushing midfielders in depth. did you see the wingers are even helping midfielders not the fred. again oscar is the only hope that he is playing straight.

          jubi I am taking you under my wing and I will guide you through this as you seem lost. Leave Fred be for now. Let Messi and Muller play first and then see out of the 3 who has the lowest score. Then swap that 1 for Lukaku. Brazils next game is irrelevant to this as it is in Round 2. It’s confusing because it occurs before the conclusion of Round 1 but let’s speak about that nearer the time.

          Run jubi, under this Foghorn’s wing is a scary place to be.

          neymar = 14 & rvp = 13 again,
          ramos = 11 & pique = 11
          cassilas get 10 points, when my cillessen gave only 9.

    Quick question guy, when is the deadline ? is it at start of first match each day or can you change players after each game ?

      NIN says:

      Howdy, hope you’re well buddy. Each match is a deadline in itself. We can sub out players who’ve already played but cant sub in players who’ve played. If you sub out someone who has already played then that player is locked and cant be put back in the starting 11. (c) can also be changed but again, removing the (c) from someone who’s already played means that player cant be given the armband again.
