FF247 Pre-season Hub 2021/22
The Pre-season Hub 2021/22
As you have become accustomed to in recent years, we start the new season off with your one-stop shop for all things pre-season with our club-by-club guide to their goings-on this summer.
Monday 5th July is the date when the first batch of Premier League Clubs return for their pre-season testing and initial work. Although, with international competition still ongoing – Euro 2020, Copa America and with the Gold Cup and Olympics still to start – then it won’t be a case of ‘all present and correct’ at the likes of Carrington, Finch Farm, Colney, Darsley Park etc. This will be a pre-season like no other.
When you add in the current travel restrictions that are in place, then this further clouds clubs’ usual pre-season jaunts and some clubs, probably all, have had to tailor their warm-up plans accordingly (Scotland is nice at this time of year!).
When you add in the fact that (again) many of the elite players will have had no proper rest, this perhaps is the least important pre-season to pay close attention to team’s line-ups, scorers etc, but we at FF247 will treat it no less so by bringing you details of what all the clubs are doing in preparation for the new season.
For those new, or just forgetful, we list all clubs below with their own comment and we (or we encourage YOU) to add in any pieces of information you might find relevant to injuries, team line ups or the like. Transfer speculation can probably be left out (we’re old school at FF247 – until the player is stood with the scarf above his head it hasn’t happened) but line-ups, scorers and assisters information is the purpose of this article.

ARSENAL
Arsenal v Hibs. Rumours Smith-Rowe is to be given number 10 shirt this season too
Hibs vs Arsenal: Watched the match. The first half was aweful. The second half was bit more entertaining as 7 changes were done during half-time.
Subbed out: Okwonko(Gk), Clarke(D), Nketiah, Auba, Nelson, Willian, AMN
Subbed in: Henin(Gk), Rekik(D), Balogun, Lacazette, Pepe, ESR, Dabrowski
Final scoreline: 1-2 (lost)
Goal: ESR, Assist: Bellerin
Team looked absolutely out of socks. The only player looked sharp was Pepe. Next is Rangers on Saturday. Hope to see bit more promising display.
Gunners getting closer to obtaining Mr White’s services. £50m appears to be the price for said services.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/57873034
Sounds pretty much done that one
Yep. Saliba apparently out for Olympique de Marseille.
Preseason Game2: Rangers 2-2 Arsenal
Goal: Nuno Tavares (debut) and second one from Nketiah – no assist for either
Arsenal landed almost the first team today in 1st half in a 4-2-3-1
Okonkwo – Sores, Holding, Mari, Tavares – Partey, Elneny – Pepe, ESR, Balogun – Auba.
2nd half was with a different team (same as Hibs 1st half in preseason game 1).
Played well today, missed a tons of sitters. Conceded both goals in corners (set-piece defending is ?).
Arsenal 4-1 Milwal (behind the door friendly):
Goals: Laca, Pepe, Balogun, Chambers
https://paininthearsenal.com/2021/07/24/arsenal-beat-millwall-4-1-pre-season/
ASL(5m) looked decent as a debutant – I guess he won’t get a start. But if he starts alongside Partey instead of Elneny, might get a consideration as bench player/5th mid at that price point.
Arsenal 4-1 Watford
Goals: Nketiah, Alexandre Lacazette, Kieran Tierney and Miguel Azeez
Watford Goal: Zinckernagel
Start: Leno, Cedric, Chambers, Mari, Tavares, Lokonga, Elneny, Nelson, Willian, Nketiah, Aubameyang
46 min: Runarsson, Bellerin, Tierney, Holding, Partey, Pepe and Lacazette were introduced.

Yeah I did mess that up
If Chelsea don’t win the league now, it’s on you.
We are not winning the league unless we bring in a top quality striker
