FF247 Site Team Game-week 5 FPL Tips
Welcome to the FF247 Site Team Game-week 5 FPL Tips article. Well, that was fun while it lasted. Our rank took a proper beating last week unfortunately, so thank gawd our transfer of Costa worked otherwise we’d be in deep poo poo. We scored just 38pts in GW4 vs an average of 43, which saw us fall from a rank of 22,450 down to 78,944. There are very few highlights for us to be brag about – Costa was clearly the best performer with his 12pt return from a Sunday in Wales, while Baines chipped in with a clean sheet and two baps on Monday night at Sunderland. Zlatan was the only other performer who managed to notch more than 2pts as the Swede scored his customary goal in the derby but blotted his copybook with a reckless yellow card. Pape Souare was so desperate to get out of our team (or Pardew’s) that he smashed up his car on the M4 and looks to be missing for a while. So, much to ponder for this week.
TRANSFER DECISION THIS WEEK
Sometimes in FPL your transfer stares in you in the face, it’s an easy call, you do it and walk away happy. Other times you look and see so many combinations and possibilities that it actually seems impossible to pick the right one. The latter was where we ended up this week. The reason for this was that we had not only £4.0m in the bank (£3.0m of that being Kun money) but also 2 FT’s to play with and the possibility of a wildcard to utilise at some point.
We had that many possible scenarios and suggestions floating around that we had to strip it back to the basics and these were our realistic options this week –
Using just one transfer
– Sell Gray for a one week punt on Iheanacho
This would leave us with enough next week to swap both him and Costa for Kun and possibly Benteke depending on price changes.
– Sell Souare for someone.
We never got as far as discussing who!
Using two transfers
– Sell Costa and Gray for some combo of Kane / Lukaku / Iheanacho
This was dependant on then wildcarding next week and the theory was that we could just do anything this week really given that the Kun money was up for grabs and wouldn’t matter. Basically the fun option!
Eventually it was decided that a WC wasn’t really necessary at this stage for us and also the one Liverpool fan we have on the panel insisted that we keep Costa because he was adamant he would score against them! And on that we couldn’t really disagree. And so we went back to the one transfer option and Iheanacho won the vote given the limited options at that price range and staying within our allocated ‘Kun fund budget’. He is purely a one week punt and we wouldn’t recommend people follow suit unless you have a clear exit strategy like we do – 2 FT’s next week with the intention of selling him for Kun along with another move. And having the funds to do so.
Our transfer this week – Sell Gray, Buy Iheanacho
THE TEAM IN FULL FOR GW5 –
Our captain is Zlatan Ibrahimovic and our vice-captain is Kelechi Iheanacho
Now that took some spelling! It also took a good deal of work arriving at the decision too. Full disclosure here we were about 2 minutes away from a vote deadline and young Kelechi had it in his grasp. And then America woke up! A certain fantasy manager from across the pond had fallen asleep at the wheel of his lawn mower but woke up in a start at the sound of a hundred WhatsApp messages and as he wiped the sleep from his eyes he then lazily typed ‘Ibra’ and that was that, Zlatan had his majority. Hey, what can you do, said manager is after all on the verge of finishing 2nd in MLS for the 2nd year running so we do kind of have to listen to his wisdom sometimes.
Given our rank thus far it probably isn’t the worst decision to stick with the pack and given that Zlatan’s ownership is so high and that one would expect a good majority to go with him this week as captain then if he was to get a good haul it would do us a fair bit of damage. On the other hand the thinking with the complete differential was probably all about how much ground we would make up if he nailed it. It’s a fine balance. Let’s hope we got it right or the lawnmower man may be getting some stick!
If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so here and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.

Cheers Snookie
Gents,
How does this look? Feel like I should have a city attacker in there but I haven’t got the funds to do negredo to ilhenacho!
Play Stones further up?
I would if I could!! Another shite week beckons
Looks decent.
I don’t know whether you are being serious or not
I got similar BUT have benched Negredo and playing Capoue
I might do the same
where is Alexis?
He didn’t make it last week! Did payet instead
get him
I can’t do another -8!! Or can I!!
If you had a set you would…….
That -8 sent me down the rankings by about 400k!!
Really thinking if captaining Costa.
In decent form Ant and I’m expecting goals tonight.
considering it & hazard too. Cant see Liverpool keeping a cleano.
Ibra is the safe option though i think,
Hi Mate,
What do u all think about my team?
Looks good to go to me.
Afternoon all,
Apologies for getting a bit ahead of myself here, but i’m trying to figure out my “get kun back” plan
My front 8 is as follows:-
Hazard, Bolasie, Sanchez, Antonio, Capoue
Costa, Bony, Ibra
Originally i planned to do Sanchez to Cazorla & then Bony to Kun however the price change gods have not been kind & i am unable to do it.
My choices are do sanchez to lallana/lamela instead or alternatively:-
Sanchez to Fer & bony to Kun. This would leave me with the following front 8
Hazard, Bolasie, Antonio, Fer, Capoue
Costa, Kun Ibra
The plan would be to rotate Fer & Capoue depending on their fixtures.
Am i mad if i do that?
Thoughts appreciated
Cheers
I like the latter plan, leaves you with a cracking front 3 and the mids still don’t look too bad.
Cheers init,
I’m beginning to like it more too.. Could be a blessing that Kun didnt drop too far in price otherwise i wouldn’t even be considering it
Pick 3 to play:
Amat(sou A)
Collins(wba A)
Holebas(mun H)
Evans(whu H)
Amat, Collins, Hol
Just don’t ever think of putting Amat on the pitch.
He was 4.0 for a reason, & he is playing in the cheapest back 4 there is without a big DM in front of them. Just don’t.
I count myself fortunate Swansea will be away when I’m there tomorrow afternoon or I might have been really foolish & paid to watch them.
