FF247 Site Team News Gameweek 8
Catchey monkey
Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW8
When you’re down in the depths of 6 million, a green arrow should be easier to come by — however, that’s not always a given. Our team probably needs a wildcard, but as ever, this week it looks okay.
Like many, we backed Forest to continue where they left off last season and, like many, we’ve been let down. Just 15pts from Sels this season is poor — he’s 26pts behind this season’s top-scoring keeper (Pope, 41pts), and even our backup keeper has scored more (20pts). Another disappointing 3pts from the Forest keeper and we’re beginning to seriously lose patience.
Thankfully, the rest of our defence came up with the goods. Porro may not have kept a clean sheet, but he did hit DEFCON and registered an assist for a nice 7pts. Similarly, Muñoz failed to keep the Toffees at bay but, like Porro, he hit DEFCON and topped it off with a goal for 8pts. Making up the trio is Cucurella — he didn’t hit DEFCON, but he did grab an assist and 2 bonus points for 7pts. Who needs clean sheets anyway?
Ndiaye continues to tick along nicely: another goal, another 7pts. It was Kudus, though, who was our star of the week. A goal, an assist and max bonus — 12pts we very much needed. Elsewhere, it was not so good; only Haaland contributed anything meaningful, with another goal and a welcome 16pts from our captain.
We finished the gameweek with 68pts — 8pts above the average and enough to take our rank from 6,055,864 up to 5,391,590. Slowly, slowly and all that.

We have £0.2m in the bank and 2 free transfer to use ahead of GW8. Let’s go see what was decided….
Our GW8 Transfer(s)
With 2 free transfers we had plenty of options. We ran the usual polls and in the end settled on a double move for Enzo and Thiaw. The thinking was simple: we’d buy into a Newcastle defence that has been rock solid — keeping 5/7 clean sheets this season — and we’d get Enzo, who, with Palmer out for the foreseeable future, is likely on pens and the most promising Chelsea mid to step up in Palmer’s absence.
Making way would be Anderson, whose steady stream of blanks has done nothing to further our cause, and Cucurella. Truth be told, we didn’t really want to sell the latter. Chelsea have nice fixtures on the horizon and, as he showed against Liverpool, he can still provide decent returns even when the Blues inevitably lose their clean sheet. However, with 3 Chelsea players already and funds at an all-time low, sadly he became the sacrifice.
We hoped for some positive news on Enzo to make life easy, but unfortunately that hasn’t been the case. So, we put it to another vote — and you’ll never guess what we decided to do. Yup, we’re rolling again. On the surface this may look like a slightly relaxed approach, but our starting XI actually looks decent (famous last words), and going into GW9 with 3 FTs might open things up a little more.
The armband will remain with the robot. The Salah temptation is real, but we simply cannot ignore Haaland’s form and expected EO. Throw in the fact that just owning Salah is differential enough, and it becomes an easy decision in the end.
To confirm then, we have rolled our transfer

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE
VOTE ON THIS WEEK’S CAPTAIN POLL
Fantasy Football 247 League Codes:
All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of the final GW.
Both leagues will be closed to new entrants on 01/02/26.
No concrete Enzo news as of yet so I think I’ll leave him in and let my bench handle if needed. My biggest headache is which GK do I play. Any other concerns I am missing?

I have the same GK’s and I have mine the same as you.
I would stick with Enzo as is tbh.
Replaced Wood with Woltemade and expecting the latter to score
Anyhow, do I play Konsa instead of Esteve and more importantly, Neto instead of Kudos?

Kudos will play 90mins, I think you have it right.
Also Esteve over Konsa, however what about Wan-Biss is he the better option if he starts?
