Welcome to FF247 Site Team Gameweek 11

As above, so below … (the average)

This is not a lesson in Hermetecism but one of FPL life. Oh boy how we could use some magic, philosphical, religous – or all of the foregoing – intervention for our team this season. It’s been grey, purgatory even.

In Gameweek 10 we were above the weekly average if you are of the optimistic persuasion, ‘just and no more’ if the cross falls on the pessimisitic side of the divine line. Forty two (42) points overall and just the THREE above the field. A green arrow to the dizzying heights of 2,898,342. Oh Lord take us now*

* to the top million even?

A captain fail in Haaland, Dominic Calvert-Lewin (we’ll see you after the lesson) with his usual hopeless contribution, and a smattering of other 1s, 2s and 3s left us with only three players to thank (four if we count Mark Flekken (4) and we should) to keep the score respectable. Brennan Johnson (8), Josko Gvardiol (7) and Anthony Gordon (6) are top of the class, even if that class is foundation level.

Our Gameweek 10 Result

We have 0.5mln in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of Gameweek 11. Let’s go see what was decided.

Our Gameweek 11 Transfer(s)

That DCL has lasted this long is a miracle in itself but fool us once shame on you, fool us SIX times then, we really should be under psychiatric observation. No more chances for the “striker” and he goes for some Wolves coverage (sensible given the fixtures). Whilst we couldn’t afford Matheus Cunha directly we have gone for his partner Jorgen Strand Larsen who is a million cheaper and only four points worse off. Can’t do any worse than DCL can we?

CAN WE?

To confirm then we have SOLD DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN and BOUGHT JORGEN STRAND LARSEN

Captain – ERLING HAALAND

He gets another chance this week – why? – well we don’t have the brass sphericals to do anything radical or daft being where we are in the overall rankings.

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

This is me, this week. Did an exciting Mosquera to Bednarek, so I have a bench, kind of. Good luck all.

G’day all. I’m gonna dare to lay it out there, and annoy you with a RMT on a Saturday morning, although my plans are pretty simple – SAVE the trade!
Hahaha – I’ve got 1.0m ITB and one trade – and I’m feeling the Salah FOMO too. Don’t want to sell Haaland, so I can get Mo, in 3 trades (next GW it’ll mean a -4), involving
Havertz + TAA + Johnson > Joao Pedro + Salah + 4.4 Def (like Hall), but this sounds like throwing out too many babies with the bathwater!!! Might just try and get in Diaz or somebody as an ‘erzatz-Salah’ ! Wotcha think???
I wish you all a nice weekend, and speak to you all soon!
P.S. My team is in spiral-mode, from a high point in GW 5 of 71k (now in around 680k mark! But I’m pretty philosophical about the whole deal!).
    Bye for now! 😉

Going fairly well … rank 33k with all chips still available.

Plan is to roll and WC GW12 (catch rises through Int Brk). Will give me 4fts going into the busy Dec period. Got to be the best time left, right?

Just can’t decide Solanke or Salah Captain. Want to do Solanke, but it feels so wrong to have Salah & Haaland but not Capt either.

Hey guys – just realized that next week (after the IB of course!) I can if I wish to be so careless, take out Haaland + Rogers to get in Salah +,Gakpo, and really do the Liverpool triple up (I have TAA too – see above post 14).

    Imprudence??? smile

      It’s meant to be!

      • AJW says:

Wise but cryptic words there Rosco!
D’ye mean ‘just do it’??? (Next GW of course!).
We’ll have to see how the tea leaves form on the emptied cup of this week’s matches!
Thanks mate! Hope all is well up there in Magpie country! 😉

Well, I nearly sold the robot in 10, decided I’d give him till 12 to convince me otherwise. I already one salah and Palmer so it’s the robot vs Saka for me… let’s see how he does today!
