Envy is the thief of joy
Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW12
Like a kid with a shiny new toy, we strolled into GW11 with Gabriel finally in place. But, as the saying goes, “man plans, God laughs.” And the FPL gods? They are laughing. A majestic one-pointer and now he’s injured (probably). Our -4 is looking something of an error to say the least.
Aside from that small emotional trauma, it actually wasn’t a terrible week. For the brigade who tripled up on Arsenal’s defence, it was a gameweek to forget. For those of us who sensibly (accidentally) backed Saka instead, it was our one moment of triumph.
Saka’s 12-pointer generously papered over the cracks of what was otherwise a damp squib of a week. We scraped a pair of clean sheets at the back, captain Haaland decided to miss a penalty just for the drama but still found the net, and despite Newcastle’s latest away-day implosion, Woltemade kindly chipped in with 5 points.
A trio of 3-pointers across the midfield isn’t exactly headline-grabbing, but better than a slap in the face. Unfortunately, Anderson’s 9 points rotting on our bench was a reminder that FPL is 50% strategy, 50% pain. We did get a little excited when he scored—checked last week’s team in the article—only to discover Matt had a sudden change of heart and exiled him to the bench. Classic Matt.
Still, 51 points, 13 above the average, and enough for a green arrow from 5,571,344 to the dizzying, vertigo-inducing heights of 5,137,507. Glamour.
Our Gameweek 11 Result

We have £0.4m in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW12. Let’s go see what was decided….
Our GW12 Transfer(s)
This week it’s all about the pressers. We’ll sit tight until we get clarity on Gabriel’s injury timeline. If he’s out for any real stretch, he’s gone. We were late to the party anyway, so we’ve got no value tied up in him. And with a wildcard plus every other chip still untouched, we can drag him back soon enough if needed.
Speaking of chips: we don’t intend to play one this week. In theory, a Free Hit could be justified, but the upside looks about as compelling as Burnley’s xG. However, we are painfully aware that by GW13 we’ll have seven gameweeks left to use four chips. What could possibly go wrong?
Update – Following the Friday press conferences and Arteta being as vague as usual, we decided to sell Gabriel for all the reasons mentioned above. We took a vote and in the ned we followed the herd. The man with slicker hair than a Soul Glow ad comes in following a vote. We’re not convinced on the Liverpool defence, but the fixtures are there and sometimes the obvious move is the best one to make. Let’s hope the sheep are right on this one. Baaaaaaaaa
To confirm then we have SOLD Gabriel and BOUGHT VVD
Captain – Haaland

That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

I did Alderete > O’Reilly the other week before his price went up.

C Mateta anyone? Just got him in and Haaland away to Newcastle is tricky.
bees393
It sure is tempting but the fallout if it doesn’t pan out is mighty scary lol

Might be worth a try. It’s been somthing like 6 games for Haaland at Newcastle since he has scored.
I was thinking maybe Saka as C
Terminators
I have been thinking about it myself, but even at this late stage idk.

Do I play Reindeer instead of Semenyo and VdV instead of Konsa or leave it as it is?

Stone Frog
I think I’d leave it
IvanTheTerrible
Yes SF, and hope for the best. Have 2 FT but no time for tinkering with only 0.2 ITB.
Terminators
I agree.
Shrivathsa
Would suggest playing Semenyo as chances are that he may have recovered, some reports are that he got engaged in the break from Ghana football engagements.
Would actually play Esteve over VdV as Chelsea may struggle to break down Burnley, while Arsenal will likely score a few vs Spurs, maybe move Esteve to VdV place on the bench.
Konsa for sure wont play per Emery
IvanTheTerrible
Thanks Shriva, movements done.

Morning all!
I have 2FTs but 0 in the bank! Thoughts on what to do here? Kudus hasn’t done anything for me of late and so would be keen to move him on but who for? The same could be said for Porro! Any advice appreciated!

Would you want to try Sessegnon for Kudus and Munoz for Porro?
Stone Frog
I guess Sarr and Munoz won’t work, but I’d think about 1 of those two. Unfortunaley I think Mosq/Hinc would also be just short.
Terminators
Kudos to Sarr or Minteh.
Porro to O’Reilly.
If you do Sarr I would play him over Woltermade..
igy4
Thanks guys! I guess having Richard’s limits me getting Munoz! I don’t really want two Palace defenders and don’t want to use an extra transfer for a bit of a sideways move!
O’Reilly has been picking up some points but you never know with Pep whether he will play!
Terminators
Kudos to Sarr or Minteh.
Porro to O’Reilly.
If you do Sarr I would play him over Woltermade.
