Not the best week ever, it’s fair to say. Hardly the best season ever either. So at least we are being consistent! It was 47 points, 2 below the average, but we got away with a rank drop of just 170k. But hey, it’s a lot more congested in that 3m odd mark. Small mercies…

With the luxury of 5 FT’s afforded to us we have changed our plans on the chip strategy a bit. For the record that now looks like; Free Hit GW17, Wildcard GW18 and Bench Boost GW19. Maybe…
As for this week we had Sels, Munoz and Mateta all injured so replacing those became the priority.
Raya was an obvious way back into the Arsenal defence, negating their other injury woes back there. Anderson has some decent fixtures and is cheap. Ekitike is the punt here but again he has good fixtures, should see more game-time now that Salah has spat his dummy out, and has arguably been Liverpool’s 2nd best player all season anyway. And no Mo, you weren’t 1st.
To confirm then we have SOLD Sels, Munoz and Mateta and BOUGHT Raya, Anderson and Ekitike
Captain – Saka
A bit of a departure from the norm that is Haaland, but with him away at a potentially more tricky Palace and with Saka at home to Wolves then he edges it. Well, it was 3-0 in votes anyway, so edging it may be exaggerating matters.

Looks good, Saka should run riot vs Wolves, unless Madueke starts and like last year, he had an insane game vs Wolves, with an hat-trick in the second half.

In Arteta’s press conference, he said Rice wanted to play the Champions League match, but Arteta said he decided to give him a rest, so, he will likely play, same with Timber. As a back-up in case Arteta rests Timber (It’s only Wolves), maybe move Konsa ahead of Richards on the bench. Mateta to Thiago makes sense, but who will you bench as Minteh may produce vs Liverpool, will you have money to make Minteh into Bruno Fernandes if you swap Mateta for Dominic Calvert Lewin and Woltemade into Thiago?

Rice and Timber are worth keeping, will they play this GW, I think Timber will.
I think if you do use your WC you should keep Timber (you really need to have one Arsenal DEF I think) but is it worth going for Saka over Rice, I have both and the issue I have is that I have to play both every GW, Rice has been performing well for his price, Saka needs to start getting more goals and assists, I have thought a few times about dropping one of them, but then the player I was going to drop gets good points so I keep them and it seems to go from one to the other, but I think soon I’ll have to drop one but unless one is injured I don’t who it will be.
Mateta has to go imo for Thiago, but I am also considering Woltemade to Bowen for GW18 as Bowen has a good run of fixtures.
I think you need to decide on a GK, either rotate or get Dúbravka for the bench to save money, I am not sure who the best bet is for a GK at the moment, I really need to sort out mine and am not sure who to go for Sánchez possibly.

For this week, is Mateta to Thiago the best move, and swap places with Minteh (even if Minteh might get points).
I could theoretically play my wildcard gw18 and do the transfer suggestions you mentioned

Hey folks. Long time, no post, but need some advice please.I still have Salah. Is it worth keeping this week on the off chance he has a farewell run out at home before AFCON (and potentially a Saudi move), or better to just dump him for the likes of Saka/Bruno F/Palmer/someone else??? Money obviously no issue

I held on to Salah for far too long. I got rid of him a couple of weeks ago and haven’t missed him. I say Salah to Saka.

I think it’s best to go to Saka.
The question is, will Salah play, if he does he could well put on a show and go goal crazy, but he may not and he may not even play.
I don’t know what the rest of your team is but even if you have Haaland you would have to captain Salah really.

I think Timber is okay, but I agree on Bruno, but idk if it’s possible with O.Dango > Bruno and a trash bench.

Timber was part of my pre FH team so I just left him. I’ll have to tinker a little to get Bruno in.

For me Bruno Fernández. Also, not sure I would free hit a doubt like Timber. Rice should start. I have both in my team but no clue what will happen. I think my team is pretty well setup, even without FH. Hard to give advice but I’m confident in my players.

Upcoming weeks I’ll probably add Szobo for Wolves and Leeds at home and sell Wolte… A striker not on penalties never sits right with me. Gordon takes away too many of his points.

Team is similar to mine, but I have Semenyo instead of Woltamer and I have Sanchez in goal.
I still like Semenyo, had a rough patch but last couple games he has played well but been unlucky. Has a few nice games to come.
