FF247 Site Team News GW17 to GW19
Sometimes you can’t just get back on your horse
Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW17 (through 19)
With the festivities just around the corner, we’ll be taking a break from writing full articles. However, we will be updating this article in the comments with our GW18 and 19 team selections. One of those will feature our Wildcard, so make sure you tune in to witness our continued fall from grace!!
I’ve been playing a lot of Red Dead Redemption 2 on my old PS4 of late. I’m not much of a gamer, but there is something soothing about whiling the hours away, galloping the planes on my trusty steed.
Until I ran off a cliff. Well, it wasn’t quite a cliff, more like a small hillock, but it might as well have been as far as Kevin (my horse), was concerned. Kevin went down with all the gusto of Neymar in full flow, and he didn’t get up. I dusted myself down, Kevin lay twitching. It was a sad moment, miles from anywhere, nothing I could do. Kevin died.
The site team feels a bit like Kevin this season. However, unlike Kevin, no matter how many times we fall, we will contune to dust ourselves down and get back in the saddle. We do have a WC, will that be enough to save us? Hmmm, the jury is out on that one. This week was another week where it felt like we’d been shot in the face. Getting shot in the face is never fun. Not when it happens every week.
On the plus side, our transfer worked out nicely, Isak’s 11pts bringing a small cheer to an otherwise forgettable game week. Perhaps more concerning is that our team looks alright. Sure, we got the captaincy wrong, but that didn’t hurt us too badly. Ait-Nouri’s sending off stung, especially when we have Mykolenko’s 7pts laughing at us from the bench, but who would have predicted the Toffee’s keeping a clean sheet away to the Gunners?
In the end we scored 47, bang on the average. Another red arrow and fall back to 3,339,229, our 9th in what is becoming an increasingly difficult season.
Our Gameweek 16 Result
We have £0.4m in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW17. Let’s go see what was decided….
Our GW17 Transfer(s)
We’re going to limp on towards a GW19 WC, or, who knows, we may have one too many over the festivities and play it sooner. For now, we’re just making the one move.
With Barco not looking like doing us any favours, he’s now joined by Ait-Nouri. Our bench is threadbare. So, we’ll deal with that.
Selling the Wolves man gives us £5.1m to spend. Not enough for a premium, but there’s plenty at that price or less who will serve us better than the two bums we currently have.
Fulham’s Antonee Robinson (£4.8m) was the man suggested, and roundly accepted as Rayan’s replacement.
The cottager’s fullback is the second most transferred in player this game week, following a brace of assists against Liverpool at the weekend, that’s 6 for the season, the highest amongst defenders. Throw in Fulham’s favourable fixtures that kick off with a visit to bottom-of-the-table Southampton, and he’s a player very likely to make the cut as and when we do play our Wildcard.
It’s another coin flip for captaincy this week. We got it wrong last game week, so we’ll try tghe other fella this week!
To confirm then we have SOLD Rayan Ait-Nouri and BOUGHT Antonee Robinson
Captain – Salah

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Is this set up right? Thoughts going round in my head have been Joao Pedro vs Solanke and Lewis vs Wan Bissaka. Oh and I haven’t got a captain right since Erling’s last hatty, so I’m giving up there!

For both not much in it. I’d probably go with the home players when in doubt, so WB and Solanke.
+1
think I’d go with the way you have it.. Hall off a couple of good performances and some assists.. Solanke with a few in the midweek.. Joao a great first sub if need be.
misread.. Lewis vs. Wan-B?? think i’d lean Wan-B! so.. Solanke and Warner Brothers for me.
Thanks all… it’s great when you all agree
I’ll switch Lewis to Wan Bissaka
Konsa is doing my head in so was thinking of taking a -4 hit for one of Hall, Aina or Kerkez. Anyone any thoughts on this or am I just being rash cos he’s doing my head in?
Not for me. They could easily all concede.
