Three green arrows on the bounce was lovely while it lasted. Losing those three weeks of progress in one fell swoop, however, is a fairly bitter pill to swallow.
Where did it all go wrong? Pretty much everywhere. Only three of our eleven registered a return — Gabriel (11), Semenyo (7) and KDH (9). Thanks, lads. Unfortunately the rest of your teammates decided to sit this one out.
Our keeper didn’t turn up, his deputy didn’t exactly inspire confidence, but at least they managed something. That’s more than can be said for VVD, Keane and Mbeumo, who combined for a grand total of 3pts between them. Generous.
The rest of our sorry squad of misfits chipped in with the bare minimum. Rice was the only other player to contribute anything meaningful — and even that was stretching the definition with a mighty 3pt return. Shall we just move on?

Our GW30 Transfer(s)
Like a broken record, I’ll say it again: the team actually looks alright this week. We do have keeper concerns, but with plenty likely to field Dubravka in GW31 anyway, it feels like a problem we can park for now.
With the blank looming in GW31 we’re also reluctant to start making moves too early. As things stand we can field nine players. With 3FT by then we should be in a position to deal with it comfortably — though we’re not quite ready to start counting those particular chickens just yet.
So while the team probably could do with a bit of a shake-up given our stubbornly mediocre overall rank, we’re rolling the transfer and hoping last week was nothing more than a blip. In theory, the current XI should be capable of setting us back on the right track. In theory.
As for captaincy, we took it to the vote. Thiago picked up two votes, Ekitike one. I then ignored democracy entirely, changed my mind, and handed the armband to Ekitike. Thiago settles for vice-captain duties.
Seems fair.

The presser from Fulham said Wilson should be good to go. I think I’m rolling my FTs and will deal with the blanks next week. Your team is fine for that strategy too in my opinion.

I put 2 playing keepers to avoid injury issue and to use bb later. Now with roefs again out and pope 2nd choice now, cant believe i have to waste a transfer on a gk.

Ah – Heaven! A return to important (non-real life!) matters tomorrow, with FPL back (I feel like a drug-addict, but I know all you junkies do too!!!).
Feeling good that my recent sojourn in the ‘More than 1m’ club has come to an end (for the time being), and I’m currently lounging somewhere between 400-500k spot! Luxury! It can only get better from here – the green arrows have erased all but some of my feelings of being a ‘ne’er do well’ no-hoper!
We’ll see what transpires, but for the moment, this will be my second GW without Erling – feels quite exhilirating to have 6.4m ITB!

It’s always risky double defense away from home unless it’s Arsenal, that said there may not be an attacking return for Rice as I expect the Everton game to be low scoring who are your other defenders?
