Icy cold

Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW7

In FPL a fixture swing can sometimes be an opportunity, more often than not though, it serves only to cloud our judgment.

In my own team
I diligently played my wildcard in GW6 because you know, fixtures and that. I looked at my side with its Arsenal Tripple up, Mbuemo and all the other likely lads and thought ‘yup, this is the week I turn things around. When we reviewed the site team I shuddered, we weren’t playing our wildcard and our 11 looked sub-optimal at best.

Little did I know that the site team would end up beating my own by some 34pts, thanks in no small part to our patience with a certain Cole Palmer. If only we’d captained him. Dammit. But let’s not be greedy, whilst our captain (Haaland) did blank, elsewhere we had enough to see us over the line and halve our rank from 2.8 million up to the heady heights of 1.4 million.

So, we may not have the perfect Arsenal triple-up (and spoiler but that’s not about to change this week either), we may not have flavours of the month Like Rogers or Solanke, but what we do have is a smattering of tried and tested assets. In Watkins, Gvardiol, Mbeumo and of course Palmer, we feel we have a side that is more than capable of challenging the ‘template’, furthermore, we haven’t even discussed when we’ll be playing our wildcard. We’re just so damn chill.

So, once more I’m reminded that the grass is not always greener. Sometimes you need to step away from all the noise, smell the roses, enjoy your own garden and hope the cat from down the street hasn’t decided it’s the perfect dumping ground (literally).

We have £0 in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW7. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW7 Transfer(s)

With empty coffers and just a solitary transfer, it won’t take a genius to work out what we decided to do this week. A unanimous vote to roll and go with what we have was swiftly dealt.

The big man takes the armband because whilst he may have malfunctioned up and St James, there’s every chance big Dan Burn has now emptied his pockets and the robot will be looking to exterminate the Cottagers up at the Etihad this Saturday. Cold takes the vice just in case we need him.

To confirm then we have rolled our transfer

Captain – Haaland

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

Can I get away with rolling the FT? Would like to get Palmer in, but only way is to ditch Salah.
International break could always lead to a few injuries, and thinking having a couple of transfers afterwards is always a good idea.

    Thoughts please ladies and gents.

      I’d roll the FT.

Your team is still nice and it’s not like salah can’t score 1 or 2.

Don’t see plamer getting back to back 4 goal. And the IBs are always messy

I would hold for now, but if you want Palmer he’s well in form now and at home again, if you are planning to get him at some point, why not now?

I don’t really worry about the breaks, if you have a top player unless they are out for a while you are not going to transfer them out, 1FT is enough imo.

Do I need to do anything here? I have 1FT with 0.1 spare. Or worth just rolling this week?

2 FT. I can’t get Palmer in easily so think I’ll just wait until after the international break. Jota to Mbeumo?

Toying with a WC which I can do on the exact money. Is it worth playing ahead of this GW or activating over the IB?
