FF247 Site Team News GW8
Spurred into action
Welcome to FF247 Site Team News GW8
Going into any international break, it’s good to go out on a high, safe in the knowledge that you don’t need to worry about your squad for a while with various players then hopefully avoiding injury when playing for their country…
Our Gameweek 7 Result
Unfortunately, that wasn’t the site team. What actually happened was a 31-point collection that represented a gameweek rank of around 9.5m and 15 points below the average which, itself, was pretty low anyway. And what led us to this hugely disappointing scoreline? Well, poor Ezri Konsa hobbling off early on against Man United in what would have been a clean sheet didn’t exactly help. What else? Well, how about our captain joining the eight other players who didn’t score more than two points?! Yeah, thanks Haaland.
Our list of gratitude applies to two players from that disastrous gameweek – Bryan Mbeumo and Cole Palmer, who scored eight and six points respectively… almost half our entire score between them.
Other than a big fat red arrow to an overall rank of 2,462,638, that’s all we can say about that week. We mustn’t dwell!
We have £0m in the bank and two free transfers to use ahead of GW8. Let’s go see what was decided…
Our GW8 Transfer(s)
Often on the back of such a shocking gameweek, it’s easy for an FPL Manager to make hasty decisions early on. Dodgy transfers, big hits or simply deleting your team are the big three, but this seasoned bunch resisted thay trio. Instead they… forgot about it. Ignorance is bliss, as they say.
Fast forward to Wednesday and the Whatsapp group starts pinging with various screenshots and polls and, without hesitation, the results were unanimous. And the team we’re turning to that will hopefully relieve our woes? Spurs. Yes, that’s right, the same team that capitulated to Brighton, giving away a two-goal lead to go down 3-2. “Prime candidates then”, we hear you sarcastically say.
Well, Smartie Pants, both Brennan Johnson and Micky van de Ven have caught our eye for the golden combination of attacking form and some nice looking fixtures coming up. Starting with West Ham at home, the games look tidy right up to December, bar an away day at Man City. So those were the two players agreed on coming in, and those going the other way? Konsa still carries a doubt even with two weeks of recovery and Eze has not translated the potential into points, so they seemed the most logical sells. And an extra bonus?! We now have £0.1m in the bank. Cha ching!
The rest of the team picks itself, with Haaland once again the most popular choice for the armband. Our bench is still lit up like a Christmas tree, but hopefully we won’t need to call upon it anyway.
To confirm then we have SOLD Ezri Konsa and Eberechi Eze, and BOUGHT Brennan Johnson and Micky van de Ven.
Captain – Haaland

PREDICTED LINE-UPS
Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

You’re a funny dude GP!
Spurs have been all the rage over the past 10 days! I’m falling for them as well, as I can really understand their manager when he speaks. It’s almost like listening to a bloke at your local pub (well I mean in the town where I was born anyway! ).
Hope you’re alright. How are things north of Hadrian’s?
Speak to you soon matie!
All well up here pal. Well 80mph winds on Sunday and torrential rain forecast. The usual!
T-shirt weather for us Scots.
Hahaha lads. That’s enough to blow Burnham Wood to Dunsinane! T-shirt weather for sure – it’s a véritable Indian summer you are having up there!Cheers fellows.
Afternoon all

You could well do with rolling that. 2 free transfers/more flexibility and all that.
Cheers gp
What do you think I should do here. 2ft and 0.1m itb. Saka will prob become palmer next week. Would need extra funds so I could do Diaz to Johnson this week or roll and hope Diaz starts against chelsea and it’s an open game?

If that (Saka – Palmer) is the plan, then I see no harm and only benefit in doing Diaz to Johnson this week.
Any tips on what to do with this? I’m a bit stuck this week.
1ft and 0.3mil in the bank. Also tempted to wildcard to go man city and spurs heavy
Now with team included!

How many would you need to change if you set off the WC?
I suppose your defence could be ironed out a bit, and maybe Sancho to somebody. I dunno mate – I’m all at sea myself thinking about what could be done! Think about who needs replacing, and how you could make your team better over the next period. (Barco for example could be changed really easily to that 4.0 guy from Brentford, and etc). Sorry, I’m at a loss of what to do – I’d say WC! Go hard! Johnson, Solanke and all the other dream players you want (maybe even a Fill Phoden or Cole Palmer if you can squeeze ém in! )
Seems a bit last minute going for a WC now. Unless you can show us one you prepared earlier?
I am not keen on the Sancho choice but I don’t know if I would use the FT soley for that. Don’t think you need to WC.
Would do Diaz to Brennan (if he is good enough for the site team, he is good enough) and reshape team in next IB with WC
