Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups Gameweek 1

Our 2021/22 Overall Rank and Recent History

A season which was affected by weather postponements, Covid postponements and GP not correctly placing the TC Chip on Salah, ended with our Site Team achieving a sub-100K rank (usually a very respectable target all things considered) placing at 83,426 overall.

In our eight seasons of playing, this is our 5th best – or fourth worst depending on how you view your glass – and whilst there is obvious room for improvement, we approach the new season with renewed vigour and a self-set target of beating our previous best ever and getting into that top 5,000.

“Aim for the stars and you might reach the moon” or however that saying goes ….

Initial set up

Well the chat was brought to life, in a way, when we were asked for one player from each committee member (no budget restrictions) on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. Hardly surprising that Salah, Kane, Jesus, Cancelo and Trent were first to be proposed and filed straight into our squad.

Round two of casting brought us Ederson, Luis Diaz, Perisic and James and then all of a sudden, when we realised budget was going to be a major issue, autopick became our friend!

The bench came from the bargain bin and with a more discerning eye, Fornals quickly became Neto and likewise Kante became Bailey.

Voila!

The eagle-eyed will notice we have 0.5mln in the bank. No definite plans for this but it does mean that if we ‘need’ someone for Gameweek 2, then we should be covered for it.

The Line-Up

We sort of think the initial line-up picks itself and the only call was to bump up Neco Williams ahead of Andreas Pereira in the event we require a first substitute, this was carried with a majority vote.

Captain – MOHAMED SALAH

Fairly straightforward. The history tells us that he eats newly-promoted teams for breakfast – an average of 14 points per season across the last 3 – so this isn’t the time to be clever. Slow and steady wins the race.

Harry Kane will jump on at home to Southampton if there is a surprise in the Liverpool line-up come Saturday lunchtime.

Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News

Rather than clutter the site up on deadline eve with too many articles we have tagged our predicted line-ups on here.

As a quick reminder –

There are two versions of this article.

The one below has a drop-down version. It’s fairly idiot proof – you simply click on the small arrow to the right of the team name and you get a drop-down list of all the teams. Simply click on the one you want to see and hey presto, etc. This is the published article with the comments section to crack on with.

The other one is permanently live and has the ‘nicer’ grid layout. If you want to see that version you can click here. This can also be easily accessed at any time via a myriad of links on our homepage – Header link, Hot Topics link, Quick Access link on mobile and it is also linked towards the end of all of our regular articles.

What you see below is a live link to what Drafthound have on their website. Why is that significant? Well, firstly, it now means that the second they make any updates in reaction to live team news then they will also appear on here. Being uber helpful in that respect they also time-stamp all of their line-ups so you can tell to the minute when it was last updated.

As an additional extra if you click on any player icon on the team line-up that will take you to their own page on Drafthound, from where you can see up to date season stats, their upcoming fixture schedule and use a comparison tool to view similar players.

Given their time and effort in providing this content for us it would be rude not to occasionally click on the Drafthound link and check out their own fabulous content as there are FPL articles aplenty on there too.

You can access our live feed to these here.
