Welcome to FF247 Site Team & Predicted Line Ups GW2

Our GW1 Result…

Isn’t it great after weeks of painstakingly creating the perfect squad for the new season, your efforts are rewarded, and you get the season off to a flyer from the get-go? Who knows, not us! The best way to describe our GW1 was average, that is, we ended up on 57pts and you guessed it, the gameweek average was 57pts. Shocking stuff. Our pitiful GW1 efforts see us kick off the season with a rank of 4,137,263. Ouch.

So, how did we get here? Well, when you only have 4/11 players return you can usually guarantee it’s not going to be a good week. Thankfully Captain Salah did the business grabbing us 24pts, James, Cancelo and Ederson chipped in 7pts a-piece and that was it. Everyone else came up with a 1 or 2, our bench fared the same so at least we got our line-up right. Every cloud, right?

We have £0.5 in the bank and one free transfer to use ahead of GW2. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW2 Transfer(s)

Sometimes in FPL, you must admit you made a mistake and rectify it without too much fuss. We rolled the dice with Harry Kane and had we known the final scores of both the City and Spurs games we would probably have done it again. No involvement for Harry in a 4-1 win is not the norm, that Haaland (who everyone and their granny seemingly went with) turned out to be a bit of a beast (who knew!?) and scored both goals in City’s 2-0 win, finishing on 13pts only served to add salt to our wounds (I may be being a little dramatic here).

Haaland ended GW1 top amongst all players in the league for shots in the box, big chances, xG (expected goals), xGi (Expected goal involvement) and non-penalty xGi. So pretty conclusive. Given how City play, I expect these are the kind of stats we’ll see many times over the season. Throw in the fact that he looks to be on penalties and you’ve got a player who may not be ‘essential’, but watching Man City games week in, week out will be a miserable experience without him. We don’t like being miserable, so we’ve decided to buy him.

The prospect of Bournemouth (H) was just too tempting, clearly, even more, tempting to all the silly sausages who started to buy him before GW1 had even ended. We woke on Monday to find Kane had dropped in price and Haaland had risen. For anyone who hoped to make the move but found themselves with empty coffers, it was a sad moment indeed. Expect hits galore. Luckily, we kept that £0.5m in our back pocket for such eventualities, and whilst it’s frustrating that making the move now comes with a £0.2 swing in price, it’s not the end of the world.

To confirm then, we have SOLD Harry Kane and BOUGHT Erling Haaland

Captain – Haaland

I don’t think we need to explain this one!

Predicted Line-ups and FPL Team News

Rather than clutter the site up on deadline eve with too many articles we have tagged our predicted line-ups on here.

As a quick reminder –

There are two versions of this article.

The one below has a drop-down version. It’s fairly idiot proof – you simply click on the small arrow to the right of the team name and you get a drop-down list of all the teams. Simply click on the one you want to see and hey presto, etc. This is the published article with the comments section to crack on with.

The other one is permanently live and has the ‘nicer’ grid layout. If you want to see that version you can click here. This can also be easily accessed at any time via a myriad of links on our homepage – Header link, Hot Topics link, Quick Access link on mobile and it is also linked towards the end of all of our regular articles.

What you see below is a live link to what Drafthound have on their website. Why is that significant? Well, firstly, it now means that the second they make any updates in reaction to live team news then they will also appear on here. Being uber helpful in that respect they also time-stamp all of their line-ups so you can tell to the minute when it was last updated.

As an additional extra if you click on any player icon on the team line-up that will take you to their own page on Drafthound, from where you can see up to date season stats, their upcoming fixture schedule and use a comparison tool to view similar players.

Given their time and effort in providing this content for us it would be rude not to occasionally click on the Drafthound link and check out their own fabulous content as there are FPL articles aplenty on there too.

You can access our live feed to these here.

Morning all! How does this bunch look for gw2? If you had the choice between Schar and Castagne or any other 4.5 def, who would you choose?

      Burnsy says:

Either you had an incredible GW1, or is that a cheeky early wildcard that has taken place?

Sessengon could be a cheap way into Spurs’ backline, also quite fond of Saliba and Lamptey – minutes are all a question though this early on.

      • igy4 says:

Hi Burnsy! Yes you caught me! I tend to always use the WC early and it’s a bit of a tactic! I know team value isn’t too important but it can be the difference further into the season when getting that little bit extra.
Anyway, yes on a WC hence the option to change anyone and get the best 4.5 def.

Castagne over Schär most definitely in my book.

Tierney is back, not sure I’d go for Zinchenko just yet. If you’ve already got a 0.1 him then fair, easy to ship out.

      Nice team good smile

      Qwkliduzzit says:

Any guesses what price he’ll be? £6.5m? You’d have to favour Mitrovic if so.

      • OddDane says:

6.5 would be mental, but it’s possible. I think 6.0 is more likely.

He steps into a relegation favorite team who have signed a buttload of new players and before himself a high profile forward like Awoniyi (albeit he hasn’t found form). He might sidestep Surridge, or maybe Johnson is not quite up for the EPL – doubt it though as he was a bit of a talisman for them.

Tbh I’m bit sure I follow their transfer plans, but they did have to restock after losing 4-5 players on loans.

        • OddDane says:

          *tbh I’m not sure…

        • Qwkliduzzit says:

Yes, the Forest trolley dash is fast and furious – not sure what to make of it all. How many of the bought players will actually make it to the weekly starting XI, and will they be more than the sum of their parts?

    Qwkliduzzit says:

Personally I’m surprised no-one seems to have bid for Ismaila Sarr.

Hey guys, feels like straight forward Gw for me. Did Kane to Darwin, so 2.5mil itb. Just bit annoyed I’m out priced now for Neto to Kulu for next Gw. Anything glaring bench order etc?
