Our GW29 Result…

In DGW29 it was a case of bad transfers but a solid game week nonetheless. Odegaard and Zinchenko to Shaw and Fernandes for a -4 ended up being an 8pt net loss, a 1pt cameo for Saka and a paltry 3 for Ben Mee the only other flies in this week’s ointment. Elsewhere it was points galore!

Our decision to captain Rashford paid off handsomely with a 24pt return, and with big scores from Watkins (17pts) Mitoma (14pts) and Trippier with 14pts, not to mention solid scores from every other position we were laughing all the way from 243,423 up to the heady heights of 143,781, thanks to a 139 (-4) score, some 59pts above the 80pt week average! It’s fair to say our Bench Boost was a roaring success, 28pts when all was said and done. Amazing!

We have £4.4m in the bank and 1 free transfer to use ahead of GW30. Let’s go see what was decided….

There is no ‘I’ in team, but this week it certainly felt like it!

I sent the customary screen grabs to the committee at around 10 pm last night with the suggestion we bring back (if fit) Erling Haaland (for Ivan Toney), and hand him the armband whilst we were at it. Only GP replied (thanks mate) agreeing with said move.

This morning at 10 am I sent another message asking that any and all suggestions be sent to me no later than 5 pm. They had 7 hours. 2 didn’t read it, 2 did and ignored it and thankfully at 4.51 pm GP replied to tell me that the proposed transfer and captaincy still got his vote. Which was good, I was starting to think my phone might be broken!

Thankfully the proposed move to Haaland, who has now been declared fit (props to Pep for giving a concrete answer for once) makes this week’s task fairly easy, and I ain’t mad at my fellow committee members who no doubt have all sorts of exciting easter plans. Luckily for them, I have no life! So it’s back to Haaland we go, and with a game against bottom-of-the-league Saints, he takes the armband for good measure. Rashford takes the VC just in case Pep decided to play silly buggers!
