FF247 Tournament Gameweek 30 – Fantasy Premier League Betting
Over the last fortnight the remaining English clubs hopelessly waved goodbye to their Champions League hopes and dreams for yet another year. Subsequently, attention has immediately shifted back on to the Premier League and although the title seems almost wrapped up, the race for a shot in Europe’s biggest competition again next year is well and truly on!
Last weekend was another disappointingly low scoring one for the hundreds of thousands of you that have a slight variant of the template team. With a long list of big names who drew blanks, including Aguero, Kane, Sanchez and Silva it’s more than likely you earned about 35 points with a solid four coming from your captain.
Jordan Henderson continued his prolific goal scoring run after converting the only goal of the game away at the Liberty Stadium. His goal, that can be described as a ‘shot-deflection-rebound-lob’ marked his third goal in as many games, making him currently more clinical in front of goal than Sergio Aguero.
The Tim Sherwood Revolution has now reached full throttle. The ex-Spurs boss has achieved the impossible of not only winning a game, but also scoring goals. Last week they smashed four past Sunderland in the first half and made it three wins on the bounce in all competitions.
Gameweek 30 kicks off Saturday and Woofbet has thousands up for grabs across multiple tournaments. This weekend there’s €400 in free entry prizes and over €1000 in guaranteed pots. You also have the option to create your own tournaments and head-to-head challenges. Choose your own rules and buy-in fees then invite your friends or leave it open for the public to challenge you!!
More importantly, Gameweek 29 marked the first FF247 exclusive tournament, that hosted 71 hopeful managers including the majority of the FF247 team.
Congratulations to Helge682 who took home 35% of the prizepool and a FF247 mug (if you come forward and claim it) after trebling up on Crystal Palace midfielders. What were you thinking captaining Yannick Bolasie, do have access to some information that we don’t?
Aside from regular commenters jamesimmo and Tommy Tilt, who finished joint third and sixth respectfully, you may be wondering where the other recognisable names finished. Well unless you’re reading this from Australia, you’re going to need to turn your league table upside down.
In an attempt to save him some dignity we won’t show who finished rock bottom, however Raziel you’ve got some explaining to do! There was nothing to separate Kop and Rich as they tied at 65th after picking up just 27 points. That’s just one more point than you’d have received from captaining Benteke.
Coming in at joint 67th, two points clear of a rock bottom finish, averaging at 2.27 points per player and with just one goal between them, I’d like to welcome to the Gameweek 29 Hall of Shame; Inittowinit and Cookie.
After trebling up on Hull defenders in Gameweek 28 only to be robbed by the Hand Of Rod, managerial mastermind Cookie decided last weekend he would adopt the same tactic and treble up on Sunderland defenders (A bold move considering the Black Cats record of just one clean sheet in their previous ten Premier League matches).
Gameweek 29 followed in familiar disappointing fashion for CvG after losing his clean sheets thanks to not one but FOUR first half goals courtesy of Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor. This week he’s again backing the defensive treble and for the first time putting his faith in a Southampton team who actually have a defensive record worth backing.
Inittowinit has a lot to prove this weekend following his equally as embarrassing performance. Last weekend his team failed to pick up a single goal or clean sheet, and if it weren’t thanks to Branislav Ivanovic he wouldn’t have had a single assist either.
Elsewhere, some ample performances from Gallant Pioneer (14th), JamieFPL (26th) and Bryan Munich (29th). Hopefully next week a few of us will break the top 10, or maybe that’s wishful thinking…
For Gameweek 30 we have FF247 Exclusive Low Budget tournament. To mix things up a little we’ve decided to make this weekends budget just 80m. So pull out your differential knowledge, scrape your pockets for a couple of quid and get involved! To open the tournament page in a new tab click here (upon logging in/signing up you’ll be directed to the team selection page).
Meanwhile over on Woofbet.com there’s a wide variety of tournaments ready for you to test your luck in. As we’ve highlighted them time and time again in the past we’ve decided to once again keep this last part short and sweet.
As usual there’s our €300 Full Round FREEROLL that doesn’t cost a single penny to enter. Don’t expect it be an easy one though as you’ll need to outscore hundreds of other managers. We also welcome back 1 Player Per Team at the cost of just €3 to enter. The tournament provides a nice twist to conventional tournament rules by limiting your selection like it’s name suggests. If you’ve got a bit more dough sitting around then our Double Or Nothing tournament has probably already caught your eye. Offering the best opportunity for returns out of every tournament on the website, for just €20 you can get your money doubled for finishing in the top half. Easy right?!
Ohhhhhhhhhhh. See the Arsenal DGW has been moved to GW37, that makes me happy. Means for now I just have to focus on QPR/Villa for GW31. Chelsea for GW34 (probably Chelsea and Pool) and Arsenal GW37.
Good news for us non wildcard holders! Who are you thinking for AVL QPR? I’m pretty set on Phillips, and thinking about doing Tekkers in for Giroud
Already have Austin, would be silly to change him. Don’t think I want to replace Kane/Kun for 1 GW. Would lose a lot of money. I could try Philips yeah, he’s done well. I think QPR will focus on scoring the next couple of games, I think Joey Barton will be back, so they will be better again. They are really missing Fer though.
All my rivals have Austin, so I should probably get him to maintain my lead, but I like keeping it interesting! Austin cap for you?
He does have 2 away games, so not sure yet. Will first see how he does this weekend versus Everton.
anyone any ideas for this squad for this week.
19 points last week 18 pts on the bench!!!
Was thinking of Sanchez out for Cazorla to raise some cash and Ward-Prowse out for Henderson.
any help appreciated
FOSTER
ROSE CLYNE CRESSWELL
HAZARD SANCHEZ SILVA WARD-PROWSE
AGUERO AUSTIN KANE
PANTILLIMON BOYD JONES HAIDARA
Hi Mackie, Foster is done for mate, out for 4 weeks. You may already know but just saying in case you had missed it. JWP clearly needs to go. Ki and Phillips feel like good replacements at the cheap end if you didn’t want to lose Sanchez?
thanks for that. Thought I’d manage with pantillimon for a week or two.
Sanchez isn’t getting many points for me and is costing too much.
Transfers made. Got this team now. Any suggestions?
0 in the bank. But I can do a -4 if needed.
Forster,Hamer
Terry,Koscielny,Naughton,(Hutton,PVA)
Hazard,Sanchez,Eriksen,Silva,(Boyd)
Kane Aguero,Austin
Can really do with some suggestions.
I suggest you support another team. Arsenal wil never win anything ever again. :p
Well maybe the FA cup?
That’s like winning the Bronze medal on the Olympics. Sour taste. 😉
Just taking a piss by the way mate. I like Arsenal. Just wish Alexis will be on freaking fire again this weekend. FFS, I put my trust in him and gave nothing in return. Ozil is allowed to take everything, so annoying. Poor Alexis. He runs and he runs.
Jamie, it says a lot about GW29 when you see such quality managers languishing at the bottom of the table 😉
What are you implying? Jamie did very well GW29? ZOMG, even for you that’s way below the belt Kops. 😉
