Kop — Salah vs. Spurs (H)
Mo Salah, Mo Salah, Mo Salah, running down the wing!’
‘Salah, la, la, la, la, la, the Egyptian King!’
27 goals, 18 assists and counting. Salah is well on his way to winning another PFA player of the year award. All going well, he should have another Premier League winner’s medal come 18:30 on Sunday evening.
Admittedly, the goals and assists have somewhat dried up in recent weeks with just one assist in his last four games. This has coincided with a dip in form from the majority of his teammates as well. He has shown signs of a return to form and was unlucky not to score against Leicester, registering seven shots on goal.
Apparently Liverpool are stumbling over the line. So much so that they’ve only won five of their last six games! While they may not be stumbling over the line, the goals have undeniably dried up. They’ve scored a season high 75 goals from 33 games, but have only managed six in their last four.
So, both Salah and Liverpool are struggling for goals. Enter stage left, Spurs!
Had the three promoted clubs not been so crap, there is every chance that Spurs would have been involved in a relegation battle. They have conceded 51 goals this season and kept just six clean sheets. Their recent form isn’t any better, they haven’t kept a clean sheet since GW25 and that was only against United.
Somehow, as unbelievable as it may seem, Spurs have made the semis of the Europa League and the first leg is next Thursday. With their season hinging on success in Europe there must be a chance that Ange rests a few of his key players which, in theory, should make Salah’s chances even better.
There will hopefully be a carnival atmosphere inside Anfield on Sunday afternoon and, all being well, those who choose to give Salah the armband will also be celebrating.

With only five game weeks remaining then we are now very much moving into the business end of the season.
What; Liverpool are about to win the Premier League. Depending on the Arsenal result tonight will determine if Liverpool are indeed champions without kicking a ball or if the League can be won this weekend with victory over Spurs.
What; the relegation issues have all been finalised. No surprise that Ipswich Town, Leicester City and Southampton will all be playing Championship football next season. It very much seems to be a theme that the promoted teams all being relegated.
So what is there to play for in the remainder of the season and who should us fantasy managers place the captain’s armband on?
There are Champions League / Europa League / Europa Conference League places still all up for grabs via league positions. Furthermore, if Arsenal win the Champions League, Manchester United or Spurs win the Europa League and Chelsea win the Europa Conference League then this could see half the league qualify for Europe next season.
I would very much suggest that your captain’s armband should go on a player where their team has something still to play for.
Well I am very much looking at you Alexander Isak (£9.5m & 61.1% ownership). The Swedish Bombshell; (no not you Agnetha) Isak has amassed a best ever 192 points this season making him the fourth highest points scorer in the game and first for all forwards. Isak has twenty-one goals making him the joint second top goal scorer in the game and joint top for all forwards. Isak has also created six assists this season. Throw in another thirty-three bonus points across fourteen league games.
Newcastle have been on great form recently except for an away thumping at Aston Villa last game week.
With a home fixture at already relegated Ipswich Town then Newcastle will be looking to enhance their chances of Champions League qualification with a convincing win with no doubt Isak (hopefully) heavily involved in the goal action.
All of the above is all fairly obvious but hopefully reinforces your thought process of where you should be placing the captain armband for this game week.
I am sure that even the younger readers will know who Agnetha Faltskog is; if not then ask your Dad or check out You Tube.
Gear — Cole Palmer, Matheus Cunha, and Bruno Fernandes

I am pitting three intriguing choices against each other: Cole Palmer, Matheus Cunha and Bruno Fernandes. Assuming you are on a Free Hit, then they are probably all in your team, but who should you trust with the armband? Let’s dig in.
Cole Palmer vs. Everton
Remember last season when he absolutely annihilated Everton with four goals (I cried as I didn’t own him), but for those that did, wow. But fast forward to now, Palmer’s recent form has been quieter than a library at midnight. This season he has contributed 22 goals and 11 assists but hasn’t scored in his last 16 games. He could run riot again against Everton, or he could continue to bomb.
Matheus Cunha vs. Leicester
Cunha has been Wolves’ rock lately— He’s averaging a 0.56 goals per 90 minutes, giving him 18 goals this season and 4 assists across all competitions. He’s also scored in his last two outings against Leicester. Talking of the Foxy’s, their defence has struggled this season, and the stats paint a clear picture: 72 goals conceded in 32 Premier League matches, averaging 2.25 goals per game. Cunha is going to love that.
Bruno Fernandes vs. Bournemouth
With three goals and three assists in his last five games against Bournemouth, it’s safe to say that Bruno loves this fixture almost as much as we love double game weeks (but not this one, this one has been crap!) In four games against Bournemouth, Bruno has 4 goal involvements. Whilst his team are struggling, he is not, with 19 goals and 19 assists this season, he has the potential to reward you if you trust him with the armband this week.
The confessional…
This is where we ask our entire writing team to tell us who they think they will pick this week… There are more caveats and get out clauses than a meeting with Daniel Levy but this is their initial gut feeling based upon who they actually own. And they promise that their picks will be allowed to leave for free if a better offer comes along…
