Welcome to FPL is live 2020/21

It’s time to set your team up, re-join leagues and get tinkering! Although it’s worth noting that the actual Premier League fixtures are still to be released and likely won’t be until after the Champions League and Europa League have completed.

For FPL the biggest change appears to be the deadline changing to 90mins before kick-off – seemingly in an attempt to combat those annoying and often false team leaks.

The Chips have remained the same as has the budget of 100mln.

The biggest changes seem to have come in player prices and in some cases, classification. Some of the more obvious changes at first glance are:

Players now classed as midfielders:
Aubameyang (Arsenal) – price 12.0mln
Greenwood (Man Utd) – price 7.5mln
Rashford (Man Utd) – price 9.5mln
Lundstram (Sheff Utd) – price 5.5mln

Players now classed as forwards:
Richarlison (Everton) – price 8.0mln
Martial (Man Utd) – price 9.0mln
Antonio (West Ham) – price 6.5mln

New players:
Midfielders:
Ziyech (Chelsea) – price 8.0mln
Forwards:
Werner (Chelsea) – price 9.5mln

  1. Playing with a couple of set ups. I think I will go only 2 10m+ players and strong defence. A tight 4-3-3 or more balanced 3-5-2?

  2. MNC and MNU week 1 games confirmed for 15th & 16th Sep. Now I just need their opponents to be Ars & Lei to fulfil my prediction

    • MNC V Palace, MNU v Ars was the leaked fixtures if correct. If they are both at home I would assume they would revert to one at home and one away, meaning one of them will have 3 home games in the first 4 fixtures. We’ll see very soon I think.

      • Can’t possibly be MNC v CPL. Palace will be in EFL cup round 2 on 16th

  3. Hey there everybody, just touching base with my latest effort. I’m pretty excited by it, and have been madly tapping and pottering with it. I guess any other person in our modern era might publish an Instagram photo of their latest meal, so I guess we’re all just victims of circumstance, aren’t we?

    I know it’s hard to comment with any certainty, so just to let you know that I’m just ‘putting it out there’!
    New team name is ‘Numbat City’ – and you can see what a Numbat actually is on the Internet! smile

    • I like that. Only issue I have is Tarkowski. You can either get Pope in goal and a Brighton defender which will score more. Or downgrade Tarks to Taylor and that gives you an extra million

      • Well let’s just say it’s me against 6.9m other players, so yes I am in some way in the situation of a Numbat – but also they’re a cute, and not well known animal which is native of my homeland, that people would just love to adopt and take home, but they can’t because they have to remain free….just about sums me up! smile Just kidding, not really (that much of) an egocentric!!! smile Cheers.

  4. So many have Douglas in their team…is he a starter?

    • No not really mainly used as a sub

      • Thanks Silvers. I see him and Ferguson in the same team quite a bit. Money is tight, but don’t think that works.

    • I don’t think they can keep him fit which has been the problem. Don’t think he’s a starter. Ferguson at Palace is the best bet.

    • Not for me. Leeds also have Alioski and Dallas who I would think to be preferred at left wing back. Personally for my Leeds defender I’ve gone for Ayling (4.5) who is pretty nailed on. And I think the best 4.0 defender is Ferguson because CPL never got a decent replacement for WanB at right back. Also when Nathan was at WBA he was playing midfield.

  6. Wait….What…is it that time again. That time to agonize over the first GW team? Yes I suppose were back after a “break”. I lost motivation during the lockdown and fell pretty hard during the final weeks last year. Hopefully this season keeps playing without interruption. It is still strange to watch with no fans but at least it is something to take the sting out of no live music here in the states. Welcome back all and thanks FF247 for the insight and advice again this year. Below is my team, I think I am on draft 1.5.22 or some such build. Please let me know your thoughts.
