FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

Welcome back! We go again, etc.

As per last season Arsenal get us under way with the Friday night game. With so many Jesus owners let’s just hope they make a better fist of this one than they did the Brentford game last season. Vieira’s tenacious Palace are the hosts, what could possibly go wrong here…

Onto Saturday and we have 6 games beginning with newly promoted Fulham welcoming Salah and co. in the early game. What could possibly go wrong here…

We then have Jeff back in the studio at 3pm for 4 games as Bournemouth host Villa, Wolves go to Leeds, The Saudis welcome Robin Hood (what could possibly go wrong there…) and Saints go to Spurs.

The late game is the Frank Lampard Derby.

We then have 3 games on Sunday with a pair at 2pm as Leicester entertain Brentford and Brighton go to Old Trafford to see if anything really has changed up North.

West Ham and Man City see us out at 4.30pm.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 1 from all at FF247!

    Thinking -4 here:
    Kane->Haaland
    Alonso->Zinchenko
    0.5m ITB

Tempting to drop Mount, didn’t look promising but on the other hand it feels like a bit of an impatient move…

Thought was a 6’er (Martinelli or a Leeds mid probably) and then following week upgrade one of Jesus, Bailey, Saka, Trippier. Hmm…

      Saka to Martinelli
      Mount to bench fodder
      Archer to Darwin

      ??

      • Ludinator15 says:

I’m sorry but I wouldn’t do any of that. Darwin is still a wait and see for me, and Mount will start picking points up.

      • OddDane says:

I now there’s a thought Banjo – thanks for thinking out if the box!

It may have to wait a gameweek before this becomes a consideration, though or I’d be hitting my way to the bottom smile

Except you are worried about price changes, I think you can still hold on to Mount.

      Hello OD!
It’s a tough one with Mount. If anything, I’d be tempted to go for Foden, as that City fixture looks tasty! However, I think I’d probably roll the FT, if I were you. Not only you can see how Mount performs but also digest more data. See if:
      – Kulu’s minutes are impacted by Richarlison
      – Luis Diaz might emerge as a good option (he hit the post and had a goal disallowed in their game v Fulham, so on another day everyone would be desperate to get him in)
      – Arsenal are doing well and maybe triple attack (or is this a case of too many eggs in one basket unknw ), so you can save up some cash
      – Foden plays again and looks good.

Keep in mind this is jus me and I appreciate that this approach is a bit boring though laugh

        Hey there Tornado!

I trust all’s well with you – thanks for the inputs. It is indeed the sensible thing to wait and take in more games and information (and I’m not just saying that because I missed Martinelli’s price rise wink hehe)

I’d give Mount a few games, Chelsea didn’t play great but still won, i expect a better performance at home against Spurs

What would you advise here(not my team). Said he’s thinking of doing kane to Jesus I said maybe to save the transfer and maybe nuñez could become an option by gw3. Is that decent advice?

      Terminators says:

That is good advice, worth holding another GW and have 2FT’s.

I would suggest though keeping an eye on the prices, I doubt Kane will drop but the prices this season seem to be faster than usual, it looks like Kulusevski & Martinelli are on the up tonight.

I am fast on the moves but it’s worth it for a long-term player before a price rises, there are so many who waited for the Kane > Haaland and have missed out because of the Haaland rise.

      OddDane says:

My advice would be to charge that phone wink

Anywho, I think it’s sound advice – he could hold with that team.

If, he does want to transfer I think I’d go for Núñez because of his ability to get into good positions in a team which will provide ample opportunities. Either of the two should be decent picks.

Don’t chase last week’s points. There will be new shining stars next weekend and the previous heroes could fade away wink

aaahhh the frustrations of gw1 when you had castagne and martineli but you chopped them out for guys that came on for a minute.
    Roll on gw2 laugh

I feel your pain mate, most of my 50/50 calls went the wrong way and opened with a woeful score. A good reminder that although we love the game and take it seriously, it is just a game after all.

Felt like kicking the cat over the weekend (i wouldn’t ever do a Zouma, just to clarify) but now i just have to laugh and focus on GW2. Good luck mate.

    Rkid says:

    Hey guys,

I have Iversen and Steele as my keepers but neither played last week. Is it likely Iversen could get played ahead of Ward next game week or should I transfer? I have zero cash in the bank.
    Thanks!

    banjomaker says:

Do we think Saka is worth holding? Or does swapping to Martinelli and freeing up 2.0m make sense? I know it’s only one game, but Saka certainly didn’t look like justifying the extra dollar to me. In fact, Martinelli seemed more involved and could/should have had another. Thoughts?

    • 120.1
      Stone Frog says:

Could get both short term. Good fixtures to come the next few weeks.

      • banjomaker says:

Yea could work for some. I’m already on Jesus, Saka & Ramsdale. I’m thinking that almost every future enabler move will involve Saka to Martinelli – so considering doing it before I end up with an annoying 1.9ITB instead of 2.0.

        • Terminators says:

I have Martinelli I did try to get in Saka but I couldn’t make it work, I am happy with Martinelli, I would say by the end of the season Saka might have a few more points than Martinelli but getting the latter and upgrading another player with the extra funds you would be up on points.
          I would say it’s a safe move.

        • The Padster says:

This is the move i’m thinking about Banjo, just to get Haaland in for Kane -4. either that or i’m wildcarding

    • 120.2
      chins says:

I think Sakas points will be a long way ahead of Martinelli by seasons end.
There is still no viable backup to Saka in the squad, but once Smoth Rowe is back fit, he’ll share time with Martinelli.
