Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

And we go again…

Saturday afternoons will never be the same without Jeff, but we shall plough on regardless. The selfish b@stard will no doubt be sunning himself in some far flung destination with a cocktail in his hand. If this was North Korea he’d have died in that chair. Maybe they do get some things right, after all..

And so, with potential death threat no.1 of the season out of the way, down to the action…

We begin on Friday with Man City going to Burnley at 8pm. Get used to Friday’s as it looks like it is a thing again, at least for the opening month.

Saturday begins with Arsenal already chasing, most likely, as they host Forest in the early game.

Simon (Thomas) is our new Jeff at 3pm, he’s a nice bloke, and he gets under way with 4 games – Bournemouth v West Ham, Luton at Brighton, Everton welcoming Fulham and Palace going to The Blades. Clearly they don’t want him to get too overexcited on day 1… The late one should be a good game though as Newcastle host Villa.

That leaves us with 2 on Sunday – Brentford v Spurs at 2pm and Chelsea v Liverpool at 4.30pm. And then the final one is on Monday as Man United welcome Wolves at 8pm.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 1 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1.

    Get on the Matilda’s tonight.

What is the English Wonens Soccer team called?

Stones in tonight’s squad. Hoping he gets some minutes and then plays gw2. KDB out for a few weeks.

    Evening all,

    What’s everyone plans for GW2?

Any major concerns in your team?

I’m not sure what to do with mine, a bit worried about Foden’s playing time, should I move on or keep for another week? Could get in Maddison or double up on pool and bring in Diaz.

Probably give Foden 1 more week and see. Similarly I have both Shaw and Onana. I’m thinking about Shaw to James if I don’t just hold.

With KdB out for a while I’d hold Foden if I had him – at least for another week. Spurs and Chelsea both have a nice run of fixtures coming up, so potentially jump on Maddison from GW3 if Foden is absent again. Chilwell or James are obvious targets from GW3 as well, so perhaps ditch Shaw.

Mitro. Holding him for the week. With KDB out, he’ll have better chances of starting I guess. What do you think?

    Man City vs Sevilla
Stones made it to the bench

It always seems easier to advise others than make your own calls doesn’t it! I’m keen to jump on the nice Chelsea & Spurs fixtures from GW3, with Maddison & Jackson top of my shopping list. But at the same time, I hate lost team value early on, and own both Stones & Gabriel. What would people do here?

    1) Stones to Estu (or any 5.5 defender)
    2) Gabriel to any 5.0 defender
    3) Bruno to Maddison
    4) Roll it and have more options next week
    5) Something else

    Thanks.

I have almost the exact same questions.

A more than decent team there, Banjo! All of your starting XI can get you big points this coming GW. Can’t see any obvious weaknesses. Stones kept on bench tonight v Sevilla, so likely starts in the league this weekend. Hold for now and see. GW3 onwards offer decent fixtures and you can then make sensible decisions. We really don’t have enough data after just one round of fixtures…

Stones, I guess as others have said, will likely play, the question though is whether he will keep a CS as Newcastle with Isak, Tonali, Wilson do have a lot of goals in them. Gabriel, with the injuries at Arsenal will play, though there are quite a lot of transfers out for him and Stones. Rashford for Maddison, is one thing to consider, Spurs have a nice run coming up. Having that cash will allow for upgrades of Kabore, Baldock to Chilwell / Botman etc.

Stones to Estupiñan, Fernandes to a £6.5 and Mubama to Jackson over a couple of weeks?

    • 120.5
      banjomaker says:

Thanks everyone. A downgrade of Man U assets does seem logical. It’s just whether to do it this week or hold. I was considering Bruno, Watkins & Mubama to Maddison, Jackson & Alvarez (over a couple of weeks). Kinda weirdly hoping Watkins flops to make that obvious! Again, it come back to whether I do the Bruno to Maddison bit this week or wait.
