Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 18

There may be some games to chat about…

We are at the time of writing down to just the five four fixtures. By the time this hits the airwaves then… who knows!

In theory there are were two games on Saturday with Villa and Burnley kicking us off on their lonesome at 3pm before Leeds and Arsenal ‘completed’ the day at 5.30pm. Now it’s just the latter.

Sunday looks relatively crowded then with three games! Two at 2pm with Newcastle having the unenviable task of trying to restrict Man City as well as Wolves and Chelsea competing to see who can miss the most chances in a game. Our rather curtailed GW comes to an end at 4.30pm as Spurs welcome Liverpool.*

There is then a bit of respite with a break until next Sunday.

Assuming there is a GW19 to speak of it is our intention to have some normal articles on the upcoming midweek, but we shall probably, and quite sensibly play this by ear!

  1. I have 1 FT and 0.3 ITB. Not much I can do with that but 3 each of Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal is a little unnerving. Or maybe I just leave it alone and go enjoy the holidays, check back in after the new year. Any ideas on this one?

  2. How would you play this team? Not really comfortable with Dennis and White on the bench. But not really comfortable with benching anyone else either.

    It might sort itself out….

    Got 4,1itb and 1ft. But right now i’m set on saving that ft…

  3. So do we think Foden plays or better to flip to Jota? (That’s assuming that most games go ahead and will wait to boxing day).

    • I’d expect him to come back in. Presume the punishment is done and Pep was pretty critical of the performance

    What should I do with this lot for GW19 I have 1FT & 0.4 ITB

  6. FTx1, ITB: 0.2m
    Final team before I WC (will definitely keep TAA, Salah (till he goes to Afcon if it goes ahead), and Ronnie – as rumoured dgw in GW21 according to Ben Crellin on twitter.).

    Think I need to sort out either LIvra, Pinnock or Manquillo this week, but who, and who for? Suggestions?

    As for captain – torn between Salah and Ronnie.

    • Ronaldo didn’t train today though dunno if it’s Covid related but most United players did. I guess Hojberg to Martinelli don’t work. In truth I’d prob just wildcard and prob would have a few weeks back. Next GW is a massive rush over Christmas with little news

      • I’ve not looked into it but the suggestion from Utd, according to the radio earlier, was that their players were back but it was being staggered to reduce the size of each group. Seems odd though as the majority appeared to be there today, but not Ronnie.

      • This was a potential WC i had been tinkering with, but im 3.2m short for the final midfield slot. Anywhere I could cut down a player or 2 to maybe get in Martinelli? Laca->Antonio, Ramsdale to a cheaper goalie, bring in White or Mings to give me a bit extra cash

        • Risky going without Cancelo ?
          He’s a fpl beast yes

        • Yeah I would like at least either Cancelo or Dias in defence, without ruining the team too much.
          Who can i downgrade to fit one of them in, and Martinelli, or maybe ESR/Saka?

      • I wildcarded last season in GW20 and if I remember correctly, it worked out ok.

        • Well, yeah there is that Kop, but a change of player here and there, that 3.2m will become Martinelli..lol
