We hope that GW1 was kind to you, but worry not if it wasn’t, as GW2 is upon us already. This one begins on Saturday lunchtime with Liverpool hosting Burnley and hoping for better than the 0-1 defeat they managed last season. The big change this season is the return of multiple 3pm Saturday games, and what a welcome relief that is. We have FOUR of them this week with matches at Villa, Palace, Leeds and the Etihad. Saturday ends with Brighton welcoming Watford at 5.30pm.
Sunday should be fun as Manchester United go to the Saints who they had much fun with last season, Nuno gets an early return to Wolves and then Thomas Tactics gets to further nail Arteta into his inevitable Arsenal coffin. (Editor: Bit dark that, even for Init!)
We depart GW2 with our first Monday night game of the new season as Leicester go to West Ham, could be a cracker that.

Son/ESR/Mahrez/Perica to Raphina/Benrahma/Grealish/DCL …..what do you all reckon? Would cost -8 but with Tsimikas & Amartey probably out I’d be left with just 9 players anyway and and I reckon the second lot will make that up over next 2gws ….could even WC and sort Amartey and Tsimikas at the same time as plan was to avoid hits this season

Cheers Reg I thought I’d get talked out of a wc but to be honest I always use it early anyway so not to lose ground or be priced out of moves. This would be my team with said moves and then I’m hoping Tsimikas rises and White drops price to fit him in for Arsenal good run
You know the potential risks of taking Son and Mahrez out so that’s your call. I do like the players coming in however but the -8 seems a bit excessive especially with the opposition Son and Mahrez are about to face.
Cheers GP yeah really don’t want to lose Son but I reckon Kane will stay, taking away from his potential slightly….maybe Dele for the next 2 instead of Raphinha for Spurs coverage? Problem with Mahrez is that I’ve no bench to cover him but that extra 1m from Grealish sorts that so rotation not as much of a problem ….heat maps and stats suggest I’m not really downgrading either. What do you think of the team above?
I would understand the Grealish/Mahrez one there as you’ve explained how it helps. I don’t think Dele over Son would work long term and in fact, I think I mihgt prefer Raphinha over Dele as well.
I’d probably take Livramento of Southampton as a 4.0 as he looks like he can keep his place the longest – Tsimikas and Amartey will both eventually go I think.
One word not mentioned …… Lukaku. Is there a plan?
Yeah I was grabbing at straws with Dele but will go Raphinha like you said. I’ve been burnt by Blankaku in previous seasons so not jumping on him while fixtures are tough …sure I’ll regret it but Grealish to a 4.5 and DCL would be a quick easy route when I do

1. Grealish, Salah, Fernandes, Greenwood, DCL, Ings, Antonio
2. Greenwood, Mahrez, Salah, Benrahma, DCL, Lukaku, Antonio
The second one for me, but I would swap Salah for Fernandes for the next game and then swap back for Gw 4 or 5 depending on if salah plays for Egypt and has to quarantine.

Sorry, assuming you’ve wildcarded that is, which I would certainly hope so making that many changes.
Haven’t wildcarded! Just pondering options! 1 is my current team but looking at ways to potentially get Lukaku in but keeping a strong mid and forward line. If having Salah, Fernandes and Lukaku, it seems as though you really need two other budget mids. I’m not sure I’m happy playing without any city coverage too
I would keep what you have for another couple of weeks yet igy. Definitely.
That’s likely my plan GP. The problem is I see so many people talking about Lukaku and it’s hard to not get carried away and thinking you’re being left behind. When I actually click on my team it’s not as though I’m unhappy with it, far from it! 101 and 71 points in the first two weeks is a great position to be in.
I dare say that I would have Lukaku this week if I could get to him with my two free transfers but I can’t (without losing Salah or Bruno) so I’ll leave it.
The best thing to do I think – for me at least – is make a transfer this week that saves me some cash to put in the kitty for him.

Brave man to dump Salah for Jota,
I’ve recently bought in Lukaku but not at the expense of Salah.
Bigpopz, it is risky but could become a trend soon.
Only time will show.
I am already on Jota over Salah & have Lukaku.
But there is another equally good option- Pogba over Bruno esp if Pogba continues to play as LW.
I could go Son to Salah & Bruno to Pogba in gw5 potenially. Lot of options to consider.
To have Salah Bruno & Lukaku is possible but that would mean lot of sacrifice elsewhere.

Yeah he is exactly who would be turning into Lukaku. I could do Salah to Jota or Mahrez to Bissouma to bring lukaku in for Watkins
What are people feeling about holding on to Tsimikas and Amartey? Has anyone seen another good 4.0 defender?
Williams just went to Norwich and plays RB so could have a sniff of an assist once in a while. Doubt you see him pick up a CS for a while though. Not sure if he slots straight in but seeing how they’re going now why not.
Southampton also has a 4.0 option.
Looks like both players you own will rise in price so I’d hold them for a bit longer. At least until they rise. I think next window people will be scampering to get rid of them though.

Antonio certainly saved my GW but I’m still seeing red even with 70. Tough week. Aye it is just beginning. Onwards and upwards as they say.
