Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23
Another gameweek on top of the previous one. This one gets us going with a lunch-time battle of the only two teams that start with the letter A when Aston Villa face off vs Arsenal and that of course is followed by a meeting of the only two teams that start with the letter B in Burnley vs Brighton. Along with that game we have Toon taking on Saints so our alphabet game is already ruined. Fulham and Hammers gets the 5:30 spot and the day is brought to a close by what should be an entertaining affair when United play host to Everton.
Sunday brings us four more fixtures. The early game sees Spurs throttle West Brom, that is followed by a battle of Wolves vs Foxes. The third game of the day is a title decider-ish? Probably not, but it should still be a good one when Liverpool and City renew acquaintances. The day is finished off with Sheffield Utd taking on Chelsea.
The gameweek is brought to an end by the ever entertaining Leeds when they play host to Crystal Palace.
The games in full…

Gundogan on 3 bps. Hope it stays like this.
Man, this is bad.

Brutal
I remember mine once 34 otb. This is worse by all means.
ouch for that one.
Is it Rosco? :hippo:
Need to check the Newcastle page for that
Rosco with the first reply on my feed.
I’ve got Gundo + Targett on my bench, but McCarthy brought the bench score down with only 1 pt!
Was a good game and both managers I think were correct in their analyses.
Lovely to see City moving around like that – reminscent of when Leroy Sané was driving them round the park. Good football spectacle!
Oops, sorry, was talking about City- Liverpool.
35 here, Martinez, GunDog, DCL & Dias.
At least I had the outfield players in the right order.
I’m a prick.
How did William do?
Little blighter is on 67 vs my 39. :dash:
Had a feeling he might be
It’s on :big-lol:
13 and a half thousand so far ….
There has been speculation about that in the past but it’s always been shot down because:
It’s very risky and
It’s seen as slightly disrespectful
But we’ll see. Maybe it’ll happen and Ederson will be the most owned keeper in fantasy history.
But all fairly academic this season anyway, by the look of things.
I slightly disagree.
It’s not risky if he is the best option: a point he would have to prove.
Not sure who it is disrespectful too? His own team-mates have proven themselves incapable and if I was in opposition it wouldn’t bother me in the slightest.
Risky in the sense if he messes it up and the opposition clear quickly (or the keeper saving it trumps him by booting it downfield into an unguarded net etc etc).
Disrespectful in that it may rupture the goalkeepers’ sodality.
Fair points, hadn’t even considered the first! 😯
Didn’t Pickford score then save for England in the Nations League third place match?
Good keeper him.
And yes this is in a shootout and not ‘matchplay’ where a counter attack could be made, but more to the point that keepers are sometimes the best strikers in this instance.
And I imagine Pep would place outfield players strategically across the pitch to counter any ‘counter’. t
That and an immediate tactical foul.
A goalkeeper taking a pen is disrespectful for me
Don’t google Rogerio Ceni then Smash.
How come Smash?
I know Ceni. It’s what they do in kids football when a team is 8-0 up. It’s taking the mickey like we know you won’t score so we are letting our keeper take the pen so disrespectful for me
But… they’re not kids, so I’m sure they would understand. It’s hardly taking the piss if it’s in the midst of a serious and close game.
And in the middle of a game if the best and most confident striker of the ball just so happens to be your goalie. Doesn’t matter if its 8-0 or 0-0 does it?
In fact I’m sure most keepers actually practice them in training anyway
I’m sure they can find someone to be able to take a pen that’s not a keeper
I once bet on a GK to score in world cup qualifier. The bookies completely missed Chilavert taking penalties. £10 x 150-1. Happy beer money
Will Salah get 1bp yea ??
Don’t think so Gündo, Foden and Sterling will be stealing the show.
No, Gundo and Foden take 3 apiece, Sterling gets the 1.
Even worse :dash:
Thought it was gonna be Gundo & Fo Fo 3pbs, Raheem 2, Mo 1
Who do we think is the best City attacking asset going into the DGW? I was all set on ditching Foden & Son to bring in Sterling, but today has made me doubt that! Is Foden too risky? Is Gundogan the best option irrespective of price?
Gundogan for me, cracking returns and cheapest. Foden has had great games in the past and then been benched.
Cheers all. I’m currently on Foden and had planned to do him and Son to Sterling and Lookman. But now I’m just torn between just keeping Foden or doing the me sideways move to Gundo.
Foden and Gundogan based upon that 90 minutes.
Gundogan has been in fantastic form (apart from when I captain him / he takes penalties). Whether or not he’ll play 180 minutes over the DGW I have no idea but I’m not sure if any of their players will, other than Ederson and maybe Dias.
What shall I do here. 1FT and 4.4mil.
Anguissa to Rodriguez, something else or do nothing!
