Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 33
We arrive at Gameweek 33 and it’s yet another big doubler with no less than 7 teams appearing twice across the next six days.
We start shortly with Tottenham hosting a Brighton side fresh from a creditable win in this neck of the North London woods. This would be a big statement from Spurs over Arsenal in the race for fourth if they comfortably take care of Brighton as they did Villa.
At 3pm, we have games at Manchester United; who play Norwich, Southampton; who welcome Arsenal and Watford who host Brentford.
There is no Saturday evening game in the league as attention turns to Manchester City v Liverpool Part II, this time in the FA Cup semi final, which was supposed to be later but has been brought forward due to travel issues for both sets of supporters.
I’m sure FPL can take a back seat for one evening.
Sunday brings us simultaneous kick offs at 2.15pm. At Newcastle, who play Leicester and at The London Stadium where Burnley are West Ham’s visitors. Again, FA Cup semi final action – this time Chelsea v Crystal Palace – takes centre stage at 4.30pm.
There is no action on Monday but Tuesday brings us Liverpool v Manchester United at Anfield.
We have four matches on Wednesday headlined by a London derby between Chelsea and Arsenal at Stamford Bridge. Everton play Leicester and Newcastle have Crystal Palace at home at the same time. Then fifteen minutes later Manchester City kick off against Brighton at the Etihad to respond to whatever Liverpool have come up with the night before.
The gameweek ends with Burnley v Southampton on Thursday which is the proverbial damp squib.

With Chelsea making it to the FA cup final, will they definitely be having a double in GW34?
Yeah, they will play West Ham and Man Utd.
Man Utd also have a double – Arsenal and Chelsea.
Was going to get players in, but not sure any point as both tough fixtures.

I’m probably going to switch Bruno to Mount or Havertz, so I can get James as well as raise funds for my GW 36 bench boost, as I currently have a non-playing bench of Doherty Cucho and Richardson
Hello all. Given the FA cup result does anyone know when Man city will double – is it 36 or 37? Or does it depend on the Champions league results still? Cheers.
I think it goes into GW37. It’s because of TV rights basically. It could still go into GW36 too but that means there will be two games on TV that night with staggered times. we should find out this week

Mount or Havertz?
That is the question!
Is Werner going to play a greater role up top, rendering Havertz less useful? Mount for consistency but then again, I did advise someone to go Fernandes rather than Ronaldo this week, sso take it with a grain of salt!

…and then there’s Lukaku to consider too ….although from those Tuchel comments I’d read that as he thinks Werner and Kai work well together and will probably continue with them.
Mount is another of those players that always seems to go on a barren run when I have him
Havertz seems like the sexy pick, but Mount is so important to the Blues right now
Thought everyone on who to bring in for Chelsea DGW? Mount for Raphinha or James for Ben White?
I dont wanna take a hit but may need to get comfortable with hits haha

Hey Smash, so does that mean you personally would prefer Mount to Havertz? Your opinion is highly valued, not merely as a Chelsea supporter (sometimes it can be a disadvantage), but as someone who is skilled at evaluating the worth of footballers! As we’d say in Oz, ‘I don’t want to piss in your pocket!’, (which means I don’t want to bootlick!), but you do have your eye on the ball!

Under the new system I prefer Mount. The striker Havertz is creating the space for Werner and Mount. Mount has also found form. Not a lot in it though and I like both as options. Get to see them before Arsenal again too

No worries Tiijayz – I’ve probably always got more questions than answers, so luckily blokes like Smash are the opposite! Really dunno, but I think I’m going Mount and maybe a 2nd cheapie Chelsea DEF (Christensen seems to be coming back, so just maybe…!), but have thought of Havertz, and I love seeing little Ziyech playing too! But, let’s be reasonable! 😉
Plenty still to play for this week, but starting to think how to get in Chelsea assets (currently have 0). Will have to be some tough decisions to raise the cash. Basically would have to sell 1 of Kane, Son, Salah or Robertson and take hits, seems risky!
Yeah seems like this GW gonna be hit friendly haha
