Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 12

GW12 comes and goes in the space of two whirlwind days, and savour it, as we then have yet another annoying International Break, with next weekend ‘off’. At least we have the Cricket World Cup final to enjoy next Sunday in the meantime. ‘Enjoy’ if you are an Indian fan anyway…

As for the football this weekend Wolves welcome what is left of Spurs at 12.30pm on Saturday. We then have three 3pm games with Arsenal going to Burnley, Palace welcoming Dyche and Luton hoping there will be no upsets at Old Trafford.

Bournemouth and Newcastle play Saturday out at 5.30pm.

Doing anything at 2pm on Sunday? Hope not, as you’ll miss 40% of the weekend’s fare if you are. Fulham go to Villa, Brighton welcome Sheffield United, Liverpool entertain Brentford and Forest visit Moyes’ boys.

The final match of GW12 sees Chelsea v Man City at 4.30pm.

The games in full…

Yep. I’m going end on 70. 6 green arrows in a row was too much to ask for. Onwards and upwards after the break.

I’m probably not the first to pop on and gripe about my decision to start Livramento over Tsimikas… (even encouraged others to do that, or smth similar)… but 76 points all in, I’ll take! but Ahhhhhhh.. what could’ve been…… Onward

Main dilemma now is who to bring in. Palmer, Diaby or Mbuemo?

      Shrivathsa says:

Diaby (Spurs, Bounrmouth, City, Arsenal, Brentford, no blank in GW18) has some slightly tough matches coming along, Mbeumo has an easy run after the Arsenal match (Arsenal, Luton, Brighton, Sheffield, Villa), blanks in GW 18, mind, Palmer (Newcastle, Brighton, Man U, Everton, Sheffield, Wolves no blank in GW18) seems to have one tough match in Newcastle, if money is a constraint, Palmer would be the choice

Hello there to Reg, Initt, Kop, Bundeena Bunnies and all the ICC World Cup gang.

Just a question really – are we automatically registered in our same league for the finals series?
Looking forward to a South Africa v India final on the 19th! (Well, that’s so as not to put the ‘mockers’ on our mob, or on our friendly cousins across the Tasman Sea!

Hope you’re all right guys. I can’t begin to count the number of stoopid mistakes I’ve made in this comp – like not seeing Maxwell was back in India, then putting him in for the last match without checking the last team lists (I would have been asleep anyway, as it was oily in the morning for us!), and other such non-playing stars (Jansen the other day too!). Anyway…
    See yahs round!

Sorry. Let me try again. Do folks think Darwin Nunez has established himself as the Liverpool 9?

      AJW says:

Hard to say definitely but looks like it I know some Pool fans who are dead set cert that he’s gonna bang in goals this year, but it looks like he justhhas tto wwork oon iit à bit!

      • KI says:

Thanks AJW. Nunez appear to be getting a lot of chances.
I’ve been vacillating about having him replace Alvarez for gw14+. i have a hard-earned wariness of Guardiola’s picks (although Alvarez gets consistent minutes, versus a gw18 blank). Hmm.

        • AJW says:

That is also a good question. I’ve had Alvarez since GW1 just waiting for him to explode as 2nd City striker. AND he is a world champion. Hmm, I suspect the moment I get rid of him, he will go on a goal scoring tear! smile
          Such is life!

G’day there ICC cricketers! Good luck for the next 3 matches!
How are everybody’s Boosters looking? I’ve only kept one for the finals series. But what the hell! 😉
    Cheers guys!

Playing the 2x now in sf1. Will have to play the 2x bowler on final. Looking forward to the next 3 matches. smile

      • AJW says:

Good playing Reg. Looks like you’ve got it sewn up! I’m playing the x2 in this coming match too, but used the others in a vain attempt to catch up! The goal is to to the best possible, AND to enjoy the quality cricket in store for us over the next few matches! smile

    • 24.2

I’ve just got my bowler boost. Meaning I’ve got my VC and C on Yadav and Bumrah.

Want a low scoring match with plenty of wickets

      Kop Warrior says:

This Indian team is reminiscent of some of the great Aussie teams. Obviously, they still need to go and win the comp.

      • Wow, The Aussie teams of 20 years ago: you start with Warne & McGrath, throw in Gilchrist and a couple of Waughs, Bevan Symonds, Watson, and Pointing, guys like Hayden, Lehman and Martyn were lucky to get a game

        • AJW says:

Feel bad for the Indian people. Their national team has brought them so much joy and hope.
I guess it’s just a game, but still..it feels really immoral to take it away from them. . If only their bowlers could pull out some magic! sad

        • Reg83 says:

Unfortunately india choke on the biggest occasion once again. Kohli and rahul especially very selfish players. They were too cautious with the bat. I personally hate Rahul. He already cost us a t20 world cup, now a 50 over wc. Always bats for himself. Scoring 1 4 in 107 balls! That cost india the world cup.

        • Kop Warrior says:

Immoral? I think you’re getting a little carried away! smile

Australia were absolutely brilliant today. They beat India on all 3 fronts

        • Reg83 says:

No doubt australia were brilliant. But india batted with no intent after Rohit got out. They never tried to attack after that. In other words they choked once again. U can’t beat Aussies scoring just 240.

      • Reg83 says:

Absolutely. Win the world cup and i think this is the best odi team ever. They have no weakness. 4 of the bowlers didn’t have a good day today but in steps shami with an incredible 7 wickets! Their batters till no 7 are world class.
Now need to get the job done in final. Hopefully an exciting sf tmrw and i must admit being an indian i am wary of the never say die attitude of aussies so i am hoping SA will win tmrw.

        • Kop Warrior says:

If it’s India v SA, India will hammer them. I’d have India as strong favourites against Australia, but the Aussies do know how to win.

        • AJW says:

          Sometimes…

        • Aussies will find another level. SA have WC demons to deal with.

India vs Aust will be a great final.

        • Reg83 says:

A very pathetic performance by SA. Completely one sided sf. So it will be a rematch of 2003 wc final

        • SA did well to get to 200, gives them somthing to defend.

Batting second on a turning wicket not easy

        • Reg83 says:

Yup 5 wickets down now. There is hope for SA.

        • AJW says:

          Phew!!!!
When I think how much that SF has taken out of me, I can’t begin to imagine the players on either side!!! Far out – that’s entertainment for you! Congrats to South Africa for coming back into it! And the Aussie bowlers for doing what their batsmen couldn’t manage!
Started listening on the radio this morning before work, watched some at lunch time, scouted The Guardian’s live coverage on my mobile throughout the afternoon, then watched the hugely exciting last 10 overs after work! Mein gott!
Really looking forward to the Sunday final – even though I think India by all rights should take it out (it seems almost immoral to imagine taking it away from this wonderful cricket-crazy country!) – they thoroughly deserve to win.
Wow guys, hope you are all okay – I think I really stuffed up my ICC score, but what the hell – twas the first time the result didn’t depend on my fantasy team’s performance.
Cheerio and ‘hasta la vista’!!! 😉

        • Kop Warrior says:

I’ve always had a soft spot for the Aussies when it comes to cricket, so I’ll be cheering for them on Sunday.

        • Sat up until 3.45am watching the Aussies grind out a win.

        • AJW says:

          Hail all ye Crickette fans!
What’s everybody doing for a wicket keeper tomorrow?
Very poor selection indeed! Might have to sell my soul and get Inglis! What a waste of a spot!
I notice that in papers like The Hindu (Ex Hindustan Times?) they have Rahul, but in the ICC game, he’s not available at keeper!
Anyway, the die is cast and the game has been run and won. I only hope to advance a few spot in the overall rankings.
Congratulations to India for a magnificent tournament! And to the Indian people! What a festival it has been! smile

        • Inglis is only option

I’m loading up on Aussies bowlers, have a feeling the Aussies in a very low scoring game.

        • Kop Warrior says:

Great performance in the field from the Aussies.

        • AJW says:

          Come on India!

        • That was really strange that Smith didn’t review. That’s what they are there for.
