FPL is finally open and ready for business and so are we with a new edition of Bore Off. This will only be one of the many articles we will try and bring you over the coming weeks, all leading to GW1 and the beginning of another season. For any new members we welcome you to the site and we hope you enjoy this article. For the veterans, you know the drill. Cookie (United fan) hates Liverpool, Init (Everton fan) hates Liverpool and Kop (Liverpool fan) hates Liverpool. Think that is a fair assessment of all three. Well ok, having seen the prices and some of the options I have called back The Three Amigos from their summer vacation to get some early observations from them for questions that many of us are wondering about.
Who should we turn to at City? Is Cesc worth considering? And Giroud…of course, don’t matter what the question is about, it’s Giroud. So without further ado, let us get to our question and answer segment quickly so we can let Cookie go back to watching Love Island and complaining about Theo being out.

Anyone thinking of going without Luk & sticking with Kane & Kun ?????

not really, i find it hard to ignore Lukakus great fixtures…

Could work Silvers but looks risky to me with his 50% plus ownership. Going to stick with him initially and then see whether United look like they might attack a bit more this season. If not then I’ll reassess after a few games.

Tricky one Silvers, particularly due to his high ownership. If pre-season suggests two up top I may put in Rashford instead though.

Yeah it has crossed my mind. Just don’t think I’d want triple Spurs and Alli seems a decent price. United did not score a lot of goals and Mourinho is very defensive. We also don’t know for certain how Lukaku will handle pressure of being at United. On the flip side fixtures are very favourable and his ownership is so high

I think I’m going for Kun, Lukaku, and Benteke to start and have enough money in the bank to swap Kane for Luk or Kun, plus Benteke for Firmino or others of that ilk. Luk’s early fixtures and Kane’s slow starts led me down that route.

Kane being £3m more than Alli/Eriksen is so annoying. One less point but 500 less minutes. Does £3m merit that? Got to think Kane is more likely to replicate last season than Alli.

Yeah I’m really not sure. That’s a massive price difference and don’t think you can really have both. You are likely to captain Kane but not Alli

Is it me or is Aguero’s ownership very low? Not even 10%. Are a lot of people going Kane and Lukaku?

I’m amazed his ownership is so low. If he’s starting up top for
City every game (which is likely) then he’s the first name in my team.

That’s the nail on the head. It must be people’s concern that Jesus plays instead of him. For me, Kun has to be first choice. But Pep works in mysterious ways!

Well guess we will find out as Chelsea are interested. Because if he stays he will surely start if not they would just sell him and go for Mbappe or Sanchez

Yeah same. He’s either going to be sold or more likely lead the line a high scoring City team every week

Yes Smash I’m on Kane & Luk but could easily be Luk & Kun or Kane & Kun the only thing putting me of Kun is Pep 😉

Yeah problem is City has so many attacking options…
Jesus can start up front or on the wing…
When both were fit Jesus started and Kun was the super sub… however Kun was on a dip in form…
Still with Pep, anything is possible and I feel the only safe bet is KdB

Towards the end they both played with Jesus on the wing. I even remember KDB being benched at times

Could save a bit and be used elsewhere… he did play the 3rd most minutes for United last season I think and just keeps getting better…

It’s certainly crossed my mind! If he’s a key figure in pre season he’ll be difficult to avoid. Could be a steal, and an enabler to a much stronger squad.

2 in the 1st game and massive praise from Jose…
My guess is he will play next game upfront with Lukaku… if they hit it off then could be massive for us.
Remember he played a lot of games with Ibra and Co still there…

Yeah he could be a steal. If he’s playing up top with Lukaku he might be the better buy. The big Problem and risk is he could be on the left

Being on the left might be a bit of a damper, but he would still push to be involved…
Worse thing is he could super sub Lukaku and wreck defenses with his pace!
Surely with Champions League Lukaku will start that and sometimes Rashford be upfront in league?

Not that I’d consider it particularly but just out of interest what was the compromised improvement as opposed to Lukaku being in there? Just a bumped up mid I assume?

The funds were shared between attack, midfield and defence. I’m not sold on it, but the extra cash went a long way!

Mou has never played with two strikers. If Rash is to be rushed into the team it would be on the wing but that would mean benching people like Martial, Miki, Mata. If Perisic is to be bought then that’s that. Sorry …

None are safe, but I think I’d go Sane. Pep seems to like him. Maybe.

Hmm not sure on any of them. All quality players. I’m expecting Silva to play a bit less this year. They will all be rotated with Sane prob getting the most minutes and points

Agreed. Bernardo is there to take David’s place in the future so he will be learning on the job. He is not a natural winger so I can see Sane keeping his place comfortably with Sterling on the other wing, Fernandinho as dmc and Silva + KDB ahead of him+ Jesus leading the attack.

It was only around January when Aguero did not play. I was burnt badly lol. Towards the end Jesus and Aguero always played. Sometimes as a 2 but more as a 3. Pretty certain they will both start with Sane preferred to Sterling. There will be rotation and Don’t think Sane will play ever week
